Pretty sure the public comment period is over, so no point in using that site. Good video to inform people though.
But what if they really like peas?
Specs for PC
I have some specs gathered up for a PC I'm going to be building in the future. If i'm forgetting anything comment down what they are. Drop the motherboard and CPU. For starters, it's likely your CPU and motherboard won't be compatible without a bios update, and you can't update your bios without a working CPU. Second, it's an overclockable CPU on a motherboard that does not allow for overclocking. The OC potential of an i5 7600k is one of the main reasons to get it. Finally, it's only a 4 core/4 thread CPU which will not hold up well at all.
Get a Ryzen 5 1600 + B350 motherboard instead.

ok thanks for the information :) edit: i typed up the mobo you recommended, and on my dealer's website, the query "B350" came up with a variety of different mobos. the website is ple.com.au. if you can give me the exact name that will be great!
Use this site instead for configuring your parts. It ius easier t use and shows where you can buy the cheapest parts:
There is nearly no game that utilizes more than 1 core, or 2 somewhat.
You have got to be trolling, right?
Just because you get an average of 60fps+ doesn't mean your 0.1% and 1% lows aren't going to be way lower than that.
Getting a gamepad for the PC. Is the wired xbox controller still the best option?
I feel like there are enough games out there developed specifically for controllers (Cuphead, Dark Souls, etc.) to warrant buying a controller. Is a simple X-Box 360 wired controller still the best option?
I've got a throttle/joystick, multi-use pedals under my desk, and all these PC specific gaming peripherals, I feel like surely there must be a gamepad peripheral made by Logitech, or Saitek, or steelseries, something that's better than an overpriced console controller.
It has an analog joystick on it, but I don't know if that's the one thing that sets controllers apart from keyboard/mouse.
I'd go with the X1 controller over the 360 controller as the 360 has one of the worst D-pads ever.
I use an Xbox one elite controller and it's fantastic, though not exactly cheap. The Dualshock 4 is a solid choice too, in Steam you can use the touch pad and gyro for things like mouse input
I used to play with DualShock 3 using SCP Toolkit, which makes your PC think it's a XBOX 360 controller. Now I play with a DualShock 4, and since Steam got native support and you can use even the touch pad, it's just great.
Look at that gaming keypad and tell me that it'll be better for Cuphead than a 360 controller.
There are good Xbox 360 controller alternatives, but I prefer the €25 wired, mainly because it works, is very sturdy if my nephew wants to play, and does double duty on the Xbox itself.
And the login issue is not a virus
But you can still afford a doctor if you bought a PC
there are viruses for mac dude. this login issue is just the largest security vulnerability ever to exist, and it's existed for 14 months!! thank god no one uses macos to run servers
edit: and the quickfire fix broke filesharing haha, oh this is great
Windows never lets you in as root, period. Trying to own the OS I paid for is like trying to wrestle a cake out of the hands of a fat person
Help, my pc is slower suddenly...
I got this pc for almost 2 months. Specs: i5 7500 gtx 1060 8 gb ram 1 tb hdd
I've noticed it's slower than it was some some days ago. I usually check my last BIOS time and it got higher as well. I've tried defragging but nothing happens. What do I do? :(
Why would he have to reinstall Windows after two months? It's probably just some bloatware or too many programs running in the background
If it's happened suddenly in the last few days it's likely something you've installed rather than a gradual build up like disk fragmentation.
Is it just slower on startup or all the time? One specific programme or just everything?
Have a look at Task Manager (assuming you're on Windows) and see if anything is hogging resources.
Download GPU-Z and see if your 1060 is under extreme load while idling. It could be a bitminer virus and if so using a program like malwarebytes to scan and remove it should do the trick.
With Win10 you don't need GPU-Z, just launch task manager and you can see both CPU and GPU (as well as HDDs) and see if something is maxing out there constantly when it shouldn't.
i7 2600k, should I upgrade?
Bought my 2600k back when it was released and had it overclocked to 4.5ghz ever since. haven't had any problems running games at 1080p. But I see that Wolfenstein: The New Colossus requires an i7 3770 at least. I'm worried that this might be the trend for most of the upcoming pc titles. Should I upgrade now or will I survive???
An overclocked 2600k will outperform a 3770 though. But you could consider an 8700k when the prices get back to normal.
Let me make this clear. You will not see any improvement at 1440p between a 8700k and a 2600k. Anything higher than 1080p will be bottlenecked by the GPU. should help.
Meh, IMO wait for Zen+.
Don't bother. I'd rather just upgrade to 1440p but only once you switch away from the 970. While it can handle 1440p, you'll be lowering settings a lot.
If you factor in the stupid costs of ram, upgrading makes even less sense.
