He seems like he went out of the baseline at the end.
The reason he Harrison was not ruled out is because the baseline is established upon an attempted tag. According to the broadcast I was watching, subsequent tags also reestablish the baseline. Rule 7.08 "Any runner is out when -- (a) (1) He runs more than three feet away from his baseline to avoid being tagged unless his action is to avoid interference with a fielder fielding a batted ball. A runners baseline is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely; or (2) after touching first base, he leaves the baseline, obviously abandoning his effort to touch the next base"
Everyone agreed he went out of the baseline and pretty much knew the ump blew the call. They said latter that the fielder didn't make enough effort to tag him out.
Totally blown call.
Source: I watched the Mets broadcast of the game and the following game where the announcers discussed the post game reaction the previous night.
