Don't beat yourself up. This is pretty good.
"If you can't handle me at my negative, you don't deserve me at my positive"
Way to paint a positive picture
...Resisting HIV joke.
One in every two and a half men is HIV positive.
You really brightened things up
Or this is just a negative man in a negative area drawing a positive picture, where it's reversed on the left.
My friend from class blew my mind away with his latest work
These things are never black and white.
I bet it's Charley Sheen.
My dad died last year because my mom, brother and I couldn't remember his blood type for the paramedics. As he was fading away he kept telling us to be positive. We're trying our best to abide by his wishes, but some days it's really hard without him.
Wow we really reversed OP's outlook by now
very cool idea and drawing
... Photoshop trickery. The one on the right is the correct one.
What mate? You ok?
Edit: Yea that joke went over my head! Lol Cheers for the Gold:)
now I'm impressed.
He must be loving the exposure.
You must be real fun at parties.
I don't think it's over 2000 years old. Hell, I think it's not even 10 years old yet.
It's that why he has beard on his neck but not on his face?
This is cool and all but I can't but think it's kind of meaningless
Like, he obviously doesn't actually know how to paint "in negative", but instead inverted a photograph and then copied it directly. At that point it's not really a measure of artistic ability but just whether or not you're willing to spend 5 hours copying something. In the end he's achieving pretty much the exact same thing as downloading a picture and printing it out.
It's impressive, nonetheless, and took skill and patience to copy it so accurately. But IMO it would be 10x cooler to see someone who could truly "draw in negative" and made their inverted paintings instead of just duplicating a photo
Man, I love wholesome jokes
What's his name man ? Does he have patreon or some shit? I want to contribute .
2000 years of reposts 👍🏻
he kept telling us to be positive
to be positive
I think there is some sort of inverse square law for pun quality and comment depth.
iPhone user here furiously triple-tapping the home button. Thanks.
2000 years of broken arms.
So you're saying all those teen girls on Instagram are wrong?
Holy crap that reference is old. What is that, 2011 or so?
Yeah, doing okay.
Can you imagine what it would be like, 2000 years from now, the Internet and all our data, still in existence?
Baby don't hurt me
Seriously. I would love a print of the Vader one.
I'm sure they flip a photo into negative in photoshop and copy it. For the first few at least.
As someone who has seen a lot of people do photorealism with nothing but a #2 pencil, what makes you so sure it's traced?
And even then, the idea is cool as hell and difficult to pull off even traced.
Either you didn't understand what he meant or i misunderstood what you meant, but what he said was a joke that the original "real life" was on the right, as in the man was a blue alien looking creature.
OP is actually a sage with glowing eyes and hair.
I think he meant that someone used photoshop to invert only the Marilyn part of the picture, as opposed to the art being made that way
I love you
Don't be so blue about it.
What is love?
I wanna take this time to alert Redditors who don't know about PrEP a drug that may help you from contracting or transmitting HIV. Talk to your doctor! And if you don't have a PCP (Primary Care Physican) and live in USA Google to see if there is a Federally Qualified Health Center near you! FQHCs provide low cost, sliding scale health services to your community and may be able to assist you in prescription costs for things like PrEP and other drugs!
Just going to throw an opinion out there:
These are likely made by getting the negative of a photo and then painting/drawing from the negative.
I mean, it's still a cool effect, but it's as technically difficult as making an accurate reproduction of a photo.
The "you don't deserve me at my best" is not even her quote. It's misattributed.
The guy in the first pic is hotter
Yo listen up here's a story About a little guy that lives in a blue world And all day and all night and everything he sees is just blue Like him inside and outside Blue his house with a blue little window And a blue corvette And everything is blue for him And himself and everybody around 'Cause he ain't got nobody to listen
He's blue da ba dee da ba daa Da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa Da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa
I'm sorry but you are HIV...Aladeen
So nobody is going to comment on how hot OP is?
The link is 3 years old
Marilyn Monroe couldn't handle herself at her worst/negative either.
I'm saying chances are, an instagram(or myspace, or tumblr) girl made up the quote in early 2000s and added Marilyn Monroe to give it weight. Much like people give quote credit Albert Einstein to a ton of stupid quotes. And then it went viral. That's my theory anyway. Regardless, it's not her quote.
The "you must be fun at parties" people are definitely the biggest party poopers lmfao
Everyone is being sarcastic, but I appreciate your lucid responses lol.
"Be positive" as in blood type B+. He's a funny viking. :)
Don't hurt me, no more!
If you can't handle me at my diddliest, you don't deserve me at my doodliest.
That's what I was thinking. How do we know he didn't paint himself Blue???
It's negative not black and white. The skin is pink which it the negative of the blue painted.
At that point it's not really a measure of artistic ability but just whether or not you're willing to spend 5 hours copying something. In the end he's achieving pretty much the exact same thing as downloading a picture and printing it out.
And silly thoughts like this is why people fail to ever pick up neat skills, and don't understand why they never become good at anything.
Repetition is how you learn a skill. It's MANDATORY. You HAVE to practice. Have to. Even if it's a drawing of something that already exists, that you could take a photo of and print, YOU STILL LEARN SOMETHING by copying it by hand. Dance, martial arts, swimming, biking--in all of those you repeat something over and over and over.
Art, music, literature. You only attain skill by DOING. It doesn't matter if you suck at first, or if you drew or sang or wrote the same thing someone else did. You have to put the time in.
The people who throw their hands up and mewl, "Well it's been DONE before!" are the ones who never pick up a skill. They give up before they put the necessary work in.
I'd do it the easy way. Draw a picture, go into photoshop, lasso out my picture and invert it, look I drew an inverted picture.
Just brush it off
I'm sure you don't know this and that's why you made that comment, but artists practice drawing and painting upside-down in class a lot - it makes you focus on the shape and lines rather than what they represent, improving accuracy.
Which one? Negative or positive?
Find a picture. Invert the colors in any digital software. Paint that. Honestly not that hard if you're already good at drawing.
Cheer's luv, the cavalry's here!
But IMO it would be 10x cooler to see someone who could truly "draw in negative" and made their inverted paintings instead of just duplicating a photo
Not "in negative," but there's who can paint a portrait upside down in a minute and a half.
Today I learned in 1942 The leader of Germany caused the death of 7 million innocent Jews
Probably not, it's actually a pretty easy technique (obviously done very well here) take a photo, change it to negative, then draw the negative copy.
It's basically a more advance version of tracing, but you have to below it up.
OP in the Imgur album at least claims that the artist has done this at times, but prefers producing the "negative" in his head as its more challenging. I don't know for sure if I believe that or not, but it at least seems plausible.
...said no research scientist, ever.
But he was defeated in a timely manner by Kung Fury.
... is he wearing lipstick?
I mean how do they even visualise that stuff? Any tips? Seriously Im at a mental block that people do this. Fuck.
Dude from the 3rd pic onwards it escalates. The Vader at last was fitting.
Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. - Not Albert Einstein.
Front-page will either be Krakatoa, or Romans inventing concrete
I hope you're not the artist in the photo. http://www.liamyorkstealsart.com
he's blue daba dee daba dai
His lips remind me of Lewis Hamilton's.
In Accessibility settings, you can enable Invert Colors, from there you can triple-click the Home Button for Invert Colors
Or you know, its fake http://www.liamyorkstealsart.com
This is one of the stupidest comments and I frequently see it made on Reddit. Really? We all have to dumb ourselves down to be "fun"? We should just constantly be amazed, even if it's what's presented as magical could actually be relatively simple? I find a lot of fun in using my brain and being curious about things.
If you're going to use this joke again, leave out "to" and just say "...he seemed very optimistic, he kept telling us, "be positive".
Isn't that how people learn though, through copying?
And another one gone
This makes more sense to me for some reason.
Hes a tracer
These puns really paint a picture
OP's eyelashes are fuckin out of control
Someone with a Photoshop background tell me it's fake
I hope you're kidding. Black paper exists, you know.
