I took this old gal to California and she got to see the ocean for the first time.

I took this old gal to California and she got to see the ocean for the first time.

Wonder if the size of the ocean even registers. That'd be cool.

Animals might realize it in a different, but more complete way than we do.

Thank you, person.

Kind eyes

That's great, did she enjoy it?

Edit: Thanks for the gilding!

I think it means that animals don't actually say to themselves "Hey would you look at the size of that body of water! or "The immensity of this forest is astounding"

We really don't know how they process something like that, but in whichever way they experience something new, and fabulous and unlike something they've seen before, they embrace it in it's entirely.

Not only do they see it all, with much more quick vision, but they smell everything and hear things we never will. So while they don't immediately start hunting for a camera to capture some amazing landscape, they certainly can appreciate it with all their senses.

EDIT> Thank you benevolent giver of gold, whomever you may be!

Thanks for making me rethink my career choices.

I will now work on becoming a dog.

For being genuinely interested *clink

So much happiness in the simpler things.. Sand, water and a friend is all a dog needs

Edit: thanks kind stranger for the gold. You made my night.

What does this mean

Awesome. I go for a walk on the beach every day and there's always dogs roaming about having an amazing time. They make me smile too.

Got you back ;)

Yep :) you can really tell she's lived the full and happy life of a good girl. Really reminds me of my pup... miss her, but thanks OP, I needed those happy memories this morning.

What did she think about it

Edit: Whoever is gilding everyone in this thread, you're cool

I've got 2 dogs and they loved every minute of our 2 week trip to Alaska. The other dog thought that the bison in Canada were just really big dogs. Up until that moment he thought that he was the biggest dog.

So, how does one get on this gold train? Genuinely interested.

Edit: Wow, thanks for the gold.

The ocean is meh. Sitting in the backseat with the head out of the window for that long car ride is the real deal.

To redditor who's overdue on their gold train farming....*AHH-CLINK!

Who knows

Got you double back. *clink *clink

Wow ty for gilding!!

So sweet :)

Get me in on this action! Here is some more gold for you!

Awwww!! That face is so beautiful! Please post her over to /sub/puppysmiles as well!

For being kind *clink.

Life will be much more fun for you, and no matter what you screw up, or how badly, at the end of the day you will always be a good boy.

Old dogs give you a kind of love that is so so special. My girl is 13, I've had her since she was 6 weeks old and I've loved her all her life.

Your girl has the sweetest face, you can see all that love and the sheer joy of being by the ocean with you. So much love to you both.

No one knows what it means. It's provocative. It gets the people going!

I'm in a random cafe about 300 miles from home and this really hit me in the feels. Can't wait to see my little buddy again.

Well done on giving yours such a great life, it's so nice to have a companion through this.

For complimenting a cute pup *clink

For encouraging your fellow human *clink

For the fortune teller *CLINK....GOOOOLD!!!!

Nope! Just taking the scenic route to Alaska.

For the jokester *clink

I think for a dog they may be able to smell the immensity of the area. They got sick snozzers

Sounds great. Enjoy your trip and your time with that old gal.

Edit: Thanks again!
