Valve: What do the people want? People: A sequel to a beloved franchise would be nice, or we'd even settle for something brand new. Valve: A fucking card game it is.
They want that hearthstone money.
Gotta hop on that Hearthstone cash train
Lil N U B P U P is a lil different but he is still gonna make the heckin best out of his life

In the actual video, they say that once he's fully grown they'll get him some wheels.
As a new player, I enjoy bringing snipers and their attachments packed in a nice and neat rectangular crate for others.
Edit: If anyone is looking for another squad member I excel at dropping 8x scopes for team members, leaving cover first to get attackers focus, getting vehicles while you loot (not responsible for the shape they arrive in), and I've got one chicken dinner under my belt in squad play with zero kills, although I did have 27 hit points. Hmu.
I choose "Sniper attachments" and "The opportunity to use a sniper before dying". To get that opportunity, I need to find a sniper rifle. I already have the attachments. Easy peasy.
finds Kar, 8X scope, silencer. Goes to perfect sniper spot.
...guy in a bush with a shotty and 5 ammo
Edit: YES it was supposed to be KAR instead of Car, ma bad
Why would he risk his life when he can just camp the perfect sniper spot and have all his gear delivered to him by some shmuck who can't spot someone in a bush?
This is a really nice style. Did you research any style in particular to find this style? Really love it. :)
The Case against the new Xbox UIThe Case against the new UI
Let me preface this by saying that I have been a preview member since the beginning. I’ve received dozens of updates over the past couple years and what seems like half a dozen dashboard redesigns. This one is the worst yet, by far. Here’s why:
The new UI seems to be fairly responsive and quick on the home screen.
Everything else. Where to begin…Home Screen
Take a look at the new homescreen. If you didn’t know this was the home screen, would this design strike you as what a home screen should look like? My main issue with the home screen is the huge amount of wasted space. Let’s start at the top, below the tabs.
The top ⅓ of the screen is now taken up by giant white text of the last used game or app. The entire rest of that area is just blank. No info, no game art, nothing. Just empty space with white text in the middle.
Missing are the avatars of friends who are also playing that game currently. (Next to the game tile)
Moving down below that is another disaster. The tiny square tile on the left is your last used game/app. Notice how tiny the art is now. It’s no longer the focus. The next 3 tiles to the right are all suggested content...which basically means ads and things you don’t want or will never use. And I mean never. Please let me know if you personally do this, but I don’t know anyone who will EVER use the suggested friend feature. Nobody wants to add random users just because they play the same game as you or are part of the same club. This “feature” strikes me as being totally out of touch with the consumer. Next, Nobody needs club suggestions...if I want to join a club, I’ll search for it. Nobody asked for “tips” for system stuff on the homepage. It’s a complete waste of space that seldom gets clicked on. And the last tile is an ad. Just a straight up advertisement disguised as “suggested content”. It’s an ad MS, you aren’t fooling anyone.
Phew, I’m only halfway down the screen.
Moving further down, the bottom half (almost) of the screen is now this gray bar. If you had a sweet full screen wallpaper before? Welp, it’s now inexplicably covered up by this gray bar that nobody wants. You can’t make it transparent, you can’t remove it, you can’t change the color. It’s just there. Look to the sides and bottom of this gray bar...you see all that empty space? You know what you don’t see? On the left, the guide icons are now gone. So any of you that liked to glance at how many friends you had online or if you had new messages or notifications, that’s now an extra button click away, at least. (We’ll dive more into that a bit later) Also missing is any important information about ANYTHING on the main screen. No more game hub, nothing. Just lots and lots of wasted space.
You have some tiles on the gray bar. The first four, and about half the bar, are your recent games/apps. Guess what the next 2 big tiles are? You guessed it, ADS!!!!
You can now add things to your home page, which is nice in theory. Except they REMOVED half our pins. So while pretty much everyone was asking for more pins, Microsoft thought it would be best to remove 50% of them in this update. Good grief.
If you add something to the home screen, it now takes up the entire screen when you are focused on it. Even if it’s one friend. This creates even MORE wasted space than on the original home screen. How did multiple people look at this UI and think, “Yeah, this is totally an upgrade vs. what’s out now!!” ?The Guide
The basic principle of the new homescreen is verticality. They want you to scroll up and down through all your added stuff.
So naturally the guide is now horizontal.
It's also now floating out in space instead of being flush with the side of the screen. What happens when they add in more icons? They already removed the notifications tab...if they add it back and more in the future, the guide overlay is going to be super wide! That problem would never occur with vertically oriented icons!
Not only did they change the orientation, just about everything that was quick about the previous guide is now an extra click or menu away. For example:
Friends used to be Xbox Button → Down on joystick (2 clicks) Now, it’s Xbox Button → Left on joystick → click on friends (3 clicks) Otherwise all you can see is avatar pics for 5 people and the (+X) depending on how many more friends you have online. Good luck if you have a big friends list! The rest of the menu is pretty much empty. So they removed the immediate access to view your friend list for a ¾ empty menu. Great!
This impacts other things like parties. If you want to start or leave a party it’s now an extra click.
If you want to send a message it’s now an extra click
If you want to view your notifications, they stored them under the settings tab. Yes, you read that right, they removed the notifications tab and stored them (with an extra click of course) under the settings gear tab. JUST WHY?!
You can no longer open the guide from the dash with a simple left flick of the joystick. You must click the Xbox button to open it.
Viewing your achievements during a game is now an extra click away. Instead of the achievement list just showing up when you tab up to achievements in the guide, you now have to click on "view achievement list"...like why? How is that an improvement?
You should be seeing a pattern by now. Everything is now an extra click away. Any time they gained with faster animations, they instantly lost by adding extra actions to everything.Community
Yeah. That gif should speak for itself. As you can see it’s a shitty amalgamation of different sized tiles that overload the screen. So we go from tons of wasted space on the home screen to ultra-crowded a couple tabs over. WTF?What can be done?
First, anyone with this update that feels similarly to me, please give feedback through the preview forums, the Insiders app, or across social media platforms. Be constructive, and be specific about what you don’t like about it. The only way this monstrosity is going to be fixed and/or reverted is with a large outcry of dissatisfaction with this new design.
MS, if you are reading, please listen to the fans here. I don’t know anyone who was asking for this type of update. The previous dash and guide were just fine. Even if 10% slower, I would take the old UI 10 times out of 10 over this.
If you’re gonna be stubborn and stick with this design, at least fix some things about it.
Switch the guide back to vertical, then make the menus like they were. We want our actual friends list, messages, notifications, etc. to be top layer and NOT behind extra clicks.
Downsize all the crap on the home screen. Make use of the space with useful and visually appealing things. Having half our wallpaper cutoff and giant white text covering the top center of the screen is not visually appealing.
Things you add to the home screen don’t need to have an entire page to themselves. Let 2 or 3 things be on one screen. Think if you add 10 things to your home screen? The amount of scrolling is going to be ridiculous as is.
Make the focus of the home screen the GAMES AND APPS...not ads and suggested content. Remember your original Xbox One UI with the GIANT preview pane? What happened to the focus of the UI being on games and apps? It’s now seemingly an afterthought. That upsets me. Hide the ads on the home screen. As I recall, you guys stated before Xbox One launch that there would be no ads on the top layer of the dashboard. That went out the window very very quickly.
Please revert this update and go back to the drawing board with fan feedback. I’m all for incremental UPGRADES, but this is neither incremental or an upgrade. Nobody asked for this design, and from the feedback so far, no one really likes it. Good luck getting the general public on your side when your preview members (who are more apt to accepting changes) don’t even like the update.
If you read this whole thing, thanks for your time. Please leave any comments below with other issues you may have. I’m sure I missed something.
Edit: Thanks for the gold and all the responses. I haven't read them all, but the general consensus seems to agree with me.
I'm typically the guy that suggests giving new designs a chance, but this update sucks.
I still haven't figured out how they managed to add more wasted space AND made it feel more cluttered. The guide is super cumbersome to use and requires extra clicks to do anything useful. And why did they change the guide's verticality? It's not intuitive at all now.
I thought adding friends to the home page would maybe help alleviate my issues with the guide. Nope. Each friend is put in their own giant block that you have to scroll through one by one. And scrolling with triggers is broken throughout.
Why are they using such a heavy/bold font right beside light fonts? Some text is too big/heavy, others are too small/light. It's very amateur looking.
It runs faster but somehow takes longer than before to do anything. Extra clicks, wasted space, clutter, and absolutely no flow. I'm sure it will get better but this was an embarrassing failure of a release. I've submitted a ton of feedback too. Hopefully other preview members did as well, because I doubt very many prefer the redesign as-is.
Removing the notification tab is totally nonsense...
The design isn't for me and seems like a step back from the last iteration which was quite intuitive.
I don't want the fucking social stuff shoved down my throat. I don't give a shit about clubs, mixer, etc etc. It's a machine to play games on with friends and watch Netflix. Nice feature, but don't force it.
I want full control over my dash ideally. I just wanna see the last game I played, what's in the tray, a summary of who is online, my pins and a link to games with gold. (All on the same screen with no need to scroll down)
Edit/Rant: Video of dash: I really don't mind change, and I have complained about the user experience in the past for minor things, but the last iteration was fairly good. This in comparison is a UX and PR nightmare. They aren't even pushing social features, they have fucked the main dashboard and side-tab system and increased clicks required. My least favourite is when you scroll down the main dash and get whole-page "features" on a friend if you have one pinned. Look at the video where it goes, Splash, Friend, Game, Friend, Pins. Why would you want your pins at the furthest point? Hopefully this is controllable.
Looks like they let inexperienced designers loose to be honest. I get the push for community, but there are some really bad UX choices in this release, such as the massive cards, increased clicks and non-intuitive layout. Overall, i would say its better than the original one, but a step backwards from the last design.
Plus, why does half my screen have to say what damn game I was playing? What a waste of real-estate. The current(old) dashboard did it so nicely in comparison! Oddly, its only the "splash" that is like this, the other boards are nicely sized.
lets end on a positive... I don't mind the slide out change to horizontal, as it DOES mean in theory quicker control with the bumpers. although the stacked menu bit looks odd on some bits
I hate how the broadcast tab is there by default, more people are going to care about invites and stuff than broadcasting their game on Mixer
Leave it to the AmazonWashingtonPost to censor common sense...
We're seeing how utterly close we came to being totally under their control. Their censorship is blatant. I ask God every night to give us our country back completely... and use POTUS for this mission.
Twitter should be investigated for political censorship, false advertising, and potential anti-trust violations.
civil wars? boi this aint civil
What the actual fuck. My head hurts just thinking about this. How did you make the old memes picture if you needed the old memes picture to make it in the first place?
/u/WaterGuy12 should check this out
I figured it out, my head was hurting too. If you zoom in on the old memes the space where the next one should be is blank.
Ramsay is always very nice to children in general since they really don't have too much knowledge on how to cook and he wants them to do the best to their abilities while the actual adult cooks who worked in that trade for years still manage to fuck up on small things. He has kids on his own, he knows how to motivate them to do their best.
Hells Kitchen is a job interview for his restaurant.
He only wants the top skilled chefs so if you fuck up he's pissed as you could be representing his brand when working for him.
Kitchen nightmares he gets annoyed at these clueless owners cutting costs by ruining quality. And not following simple health rules.
When he works with kids he's so nice as he wants to encourage their passion for cooking and they are just learning, not tying to work for him.
He's really a nice person it's just that he has a bit of a temper. Also not that much patience when it comes to people who say they know what they are doing and mess up.
I noticed he's really nice to people unless they are selling unknowing customers rancid/disgusting food
Am professor. Can confirm. If you go more than 10-15% over the word limit, either you have weak editing skills or you chose a topic that's not to the scale the prompt was asking for.
