TFA - Why is everyone in the new movies asexual. Give us a good romance!
TLJ - No not like that!
“How do I rotate text in ms paint?”
Did you Photoshop luke skywalkers face over luke skywalkers face?
You wrote twice on the green saber
The text already is rotated...from a certain point of view.
Would there have been any surviving clones around this time?
Are we blind?! DEPLOY THE GARRISON!
I want every upvote to fire on that OC.
Luke is ded. Not big surprise.
A good question, that we'll never answer. Seriously Maz how'd you get that?
Well, why don't you just space Skype her and find out? I hear she always picks up, even if in battle.
I tried, she wouldn't answer. She just dodged the question and jetpacked away.
SO DO YOU!!
So this is what Kylo meant when he said he was going to destroy her. He truly is Han Solo’s son. That family slays.
This is where the fun begins
Your meme is excellent btw.
If you're gonna criticise a movie, criticise the stuff that actually matters. TLJ has wonky pacing, a weird structure, and a tone that jumps all over the place. Everything else is pretty darn solid, making for an overall great movie.
Not everyone cares about endless nitpicks and deep analization of the canon lol. We're just here for the space battles, the likable characters, the sword fights, the score, the cinematography and the lore and storytelling.
Back in the days of Legends no one complained about the nonsensical Sith Force Ghosts or the edgy Grey Jedi, and the first two trilogies were full of retcons. The only thing that actually causes a problem with the lore in TLJ is the hyperspace crash, and there are thousands of explanations that the story group can come up with.
I thought that was the joke; Star Wars fans avoid reasonable criticism and instead come up with stuff like “THERE IS LITERALLY NO WAY THIS SUPER TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED SOCIETY COULD MAKE BOMBS DROP IN SPACE”
I popped a wicked boner when they offed him!
I like the way they handled Rey’s parents nobody we know of in universe would make sense for parents. The parents being no one serves to isolate Rey and to make her choice to fight for the light her own. more than if she had important parents she accepted the past rather than “killing it”. Or molding into what she wanted to see like Kylo Ren and Darth Vader. She doesn’t need that answer anymore. Johnson didn’t throw Rey’s parents off the table he made them serve an important place in Rey’s character arc in the last Jedi.
let's make an idiotic cartoon character from a mediocre-at-best series into the lynchpin of the new films?
Now that you mention it... 🤔🤭
Oh shit, fam. He's a goddamn school shooter.
Finn as a character was done dirty from the get go. He should've been a devout First Order Soldier then learn over time that living under tyranny is something worth fighting against. Maybe instead of being programmed from birth they're just normal people. Maybe Finn's family comes from a planet who flourished under the empire, but has been neglected by the New Republic. Finn see's the suffering of the people around him and decides to join a cause that will bring order and prosperity. On the way to Jakku in the transport with all the Stormtroopers, Finn could be nervous, and Phasma could reassure him that as long as he follows orders the mission would be over soon enough, and we see Finn working well with his fellow Stormtroopers/Phasma even though they are brutally attacking a village. Maybe instead of Finn and Poe becoming friends immediately Poe gets the best of him in a prisoner transfer and kinda takes him hostage in a TIE fighter. Finn would refuse to fire at his own team leaving Poe to eventually get the ship shot down and crash on Jakku. Finn meeting Rey and Han changes him. And its obvious he was somewhat infatuated with Rey. Maybe he actually has a good relationship with Phasma where she's more of a leader than a boss. She reaches out to him at some point between them leaving Jakku and arrival at D'Qar. She gives Finn the benefit of the doubt and tells him to take advantage of his position and act as a Spy. Finn is reluctant after meeting Rey/Han but calls the First Order anyway to Maz's castle and informs them that he has the droid. Then over time he meets Leia, she tells him a little bit about the force and her days of fighting for a cause/the rebellion. Finn agrees to help them take down SKB only if he can get Rey. Also instead of embarrassing Phasma's character from the get go,Han/Chewie should've just held some First Order technician at gunpoint to disable the shields. The rest of the movie goes the same, Finn loses to Kylo, gets his spine slashed, etc.
Then that sets up Finn's character arc for TLJ better. Poe does his bombing run and ends up getting a ton of people killed. (And throughout the escape from D'Qar and on the Battle of Crait, we see ordianry people sacrifice themselves to fight the FO). They escape to Crait and are safe but not for long. Leia chastises Poe and decides to use his skills for politics instead of fighting as a "punishment" Finn could go with Poe to Cantonica (apparently they didn't do this cause it was boring. C'mon you've got a reluctant former soldier of a terrorist group and a devout rebel and you can't make that work?) In order to find more Republic allies after the destruction of the Hosnian System. Holdo could be some government person for Cantonica and she would refuse supporting the Rebellion because they would rather remain neutral than risk hostile takeover. Finn understands her position, Poe is disgusted by her cowardice. They head back to the ship but see Phasma and a First Order freighter with a line of TIE fighters/other FO equipment being loaded onto the ship. They follow the line back to a warehouse where they see Mostly FO ships/artillery, but also some New Republic/Resistance ones. Holdo confronts them with Phasma. Poe and Finn are outraged and shocked. Holdo states that the First Order has brought peace and prosperity to Cantonica, and that she will not let her people suffer under the inept leadership of the New Republic. This would set up an interesting dynamic. Phasma would reluctantly hold her rifle up to Finn, they make a run for it, speeder chase, escape. Then later Poe, Finn, and BB-8 infiltrate the Supremacy they could just decide to bomb the place. Phasma catches Finn and Poe, she's somewhat heartbroken by FN-2187's betrayal and decides to execute them. Finn gives a speech before he dies to nearby storm troopers of how they should think for themselves, and that their fighting for tyranny rather than peace/prosperity. They're largely unfazed (sets seed for EP9). But Finn was just buying time so BB8 could set the last couple charges and make a roll for it. The supremacy explodes. Finn and Phasma have their fight with more emotion and setup now. Finn accepts his title as Rebel Scum. Then the rest of the movie goes the same. Except when Finn tries to ram his ship, Poe reaches out to him on the headset: he's seen the sacrifices people made, some necessary, some unecessary. He assures Finn that he's a hero and a good man and that he should live to fight another day. Finn turns the speeder around. Rest of the movie goes the same, and the seeds for EP. 9 is set. I guess EP.9 could be more Poe's movie and his role as a leader where Finn's arc will have been mostly carried out in 7/8.
But that's just a what-if.
The event that triggers his desertion to join the resistance... is when Poe shot and killed his friend.
