Roy Moore’s Story Is Unraveling

Roy Moore’s Story Is Unraveling
Roy Moore’s Story Is Unraveling

What’s most damning is the handwriting on the card. It’s indistinguishable from the handwriting in the yearbook. Nelson and Gibson didn’t know one another, yet both have old documents bearing Moore’s signature, and the writing matches other samples. To believe that the yearbook inscription is forged, you have to postulate that a master forger somehow got access to both Nelson’s yearbook in Anniston, Alabama, and the scrapbook in Gibson’s attic in Delray Beach, Florida. And you can’t blame the Post, which revealed Gibson’s story but not Nelson’s. Only one person had access to both women: Roy Moore.

The handwriting is not only in the cards, the handwriting is on the wall; only one person/entity had access to both of these women little girls.

The point here is that he was caught lying about whether or not he knew these women. This means he is likely to lie about the whole thing.

His core supporters don’t care. There could be video evidence of him committing these crimes (shudder) and they would claim it is doctored. These are the REAL delporables folks .

“Do you remember dating girls that young?” Sean Hannity asked him. Moore hedged: “Not generally, no

That one still kills me. "Do you remember molesting children?". "Not generally, no. There was some days I would hardly molest anyone at all."

Zinke used government helicopters to travel to and from DC: report

Zinke again used a Park Police helicopter on his way back from Yorktown, reportedly in order to make it back to Washington, D.C. in time for a horseback ride with Vice President Mike Pence. Politico reports the flight cost around $6,250.

Nothing better for the insides of those two than the outside of a couple horses. Zinke just couldn't miss that opportunity.

...Zinke spent more than $14,000 on the helicopter trips, which were provided by the U.S. Park Police.

Pittance compared to what he's going to make giving away the U.S. Parks to mining and logging companies.

So the real reason Price was probably fired wasn't his waste of government money, but likely his inability to pass new Healthcare legislation?

a real brokeback mountain moment

GOP Rep. Mia Love: Farenthold should resign

GOP Rep. Mia Love: Farenthold should resign

Rep. Mia Love (R-Utah) called on fellow House Republican Rep. Blake Farenthold (Texas) to resign on Thursday following reports that the Texas lawmaker used taxpayer money to settle a 2014 lawsuit with his former communications director, who claims Farenthold sexually harassed her.

Love was asked on CNN if Farenthold should resign after the House Ethics Committee announced Thursday it would impanel a subcommittee to investigate allegations of sexual harassment against him.

"Well, look, this is a culture of behavior, and I don't think that he thinks he's done anything wrong," Love said. "But the fact is, somebody was paid off. And what's frustrating to me is, the money that was used, it's taxpayer dollars."

"So should Farenthold resign?" CNN's Kate Bolduan asked.

"I think that he should voluntarily resign," Love responded.

Well shit, that's honestly surprising.

Rest of GOP reps: told you this would happen when we let her in.

“We thought she was that Arab pornstar!”

What if Mueller catches Trump — and it isn’t enough?

What if Mueller catches Trump — and it isn’t enough?
What if Mueller catches Trump — and it isn’t enough?

Then we’ll either take to the streets or passively accept that this country is beyond redemption.

Edit: I hope it’s the first one.

Then, quite simply, America is done as concept and a country. We were founded as a nation of laws, not men. The great American experiment will have ceased due to failure. And it will have deserved its death.

Unfortunately the dying throes it goes through will most likely reverberate throughout the world... but that's possibly a lesson for everyone else to learn: Never let one nation gain this much power again. For it will surely go to their head one day, for it will cause every one, and every thing... great pain.

TL;DR: Shit's fucked, yo.

Agreed. If Mueller is fired or if evidence is so damning and congress does nothing I am taking to the streets.

People have given their lives for less gross negligence against democracy.

"Robert Mueller is superb choice to be special counsel. His reputation is impeccable for honesty and integrity. Media should now calm down" - Newt Gingrich then

"Robert Mueller is corrupt" -Newt Gingrich now

Remember folks, if Mueller is fired, we take to the streets in protest. This is a blatant attempt to subvert the rule of law.

and in reality:

Newt is a piece of shit now, Newt was a piece of shit then, and Newt has been a piece of shit his entire career. Fuck that lizard fuck.

I so hope Fox News is implicated in all this. There has to be some co-ordination.

Lindsey Vonn: I won't be representing US President at Winter Olympics

I can't help but imagine how much of a shit storm these athletes could create for the white house. Just imagine if any American athletes are fortunate enough to make it to the Podium, but decide to kneel during their national anthem. That would definitely be historic.

I was thinking they'd pull out because Trump's boss Putin demanded it after Russia was told they can't participate.

I’m waiting for the US to pull out of the olympics just to save face since every athlete will (rightfully) demonize Trump at every opportunity.

As a fellow American, if they don’t show up, it’s an act of courage on their behalf for us.

White House Shames John Lewis For Disrespecting the Sacrifices of John Lewis

White House Shames John Lewis For Disrespecting the Sacrifices of John Lewis

... the White House issued statement saying, “we think it’s unfortunate that these members of Congress wouldn’t join the President in honoring the incredible sacrifice civil rights leaders made to right the injustices in our history.”

On March 7, 1965, John Lewis marched with hundreds of other civil rights activists across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, in protest of the mass disenfranchisement of African-Americans in the South. Alabama state troopers beat Lewis until they fractured his skull. Eight days after the protest captured national attention, Lyndon Johnson called on Congress to pass legislation enabling the federal government to guarantee every American citizen’s access to the ballot, and The Voting Rights Act of 1965 passed five months later.

John Lewis would be so disappointed.

When John Lewis was risking his life for civil rights Trump was denying blacks apartments in his building.

Nope. He was dodging military service. He didn’t deny black Americans access to his shit buildings until the 70s

Roy Moore Once Said The Last Time America Was Great Was ‘When We Had Slavery’

Roy Moore Once Said The Last Time America Was Great Was ‘When We Had Slavery’
Roy Moore Once Said The Last Time America Was Great Was ‘When We Had Slavery’

I think it was great at the time when families were united–even though we had slavery–they cared for one another…Our families were strong, our country had a direction.

when families were united

Except for that part where we, you know, broke families up and sold them to the highest bidder. Otherwise totally united.

Roy Moore says that despite slavery, families were united during that time. Please take some time to look at the Lost Friends exhibition from the Historic New Orleans Collection. It documents newspaper ads taken out by emancipated slaves desparate to find the parents, children, siblings and friends that were forcefully ripped away from them and sold like chattel. They often had very little to go on - a new owner could rename his purchased slaves, and could take them across the country. Seriously, take a look at a few of the ads in that archive. They're heartbreaking but a sobering reminder of a portion of American history that a lot of people would like to just ignore or downplay.

There was nothing great about those days. The fact that people like Roy Moore are still trying to glamorize them is shameful. Even if you try to give him the benefit of the doubt, that he just poorly phrased his answer, it's still an incredibly tone deaf thing for a man that wants to represent a state with a ~30% African American population in the Senate to say.

And those united families were in place largely because women didn’t have the right to vote, work in certain occupations, own property by themselves, or otherwise be independent in any meaningful way.

He hates gay people. Is an accused pedophile. Brandishes guns in public at rallies. Romanticises southern independence. Disregards, even embraces Russian influence in American politics. Why would any American want this dude? I just don't understand what is going on.

U.S. judge presiding over Michael Flynn criminal case is recused: court

U.S. judge presiding over Michael Flynn criminal case is recused: court

Probably something pretty standard going on.

Judges are ramdomly assigned cases. He resided over a plea, which is a hearing that a judge has 0 power during anyway, and won't be deciding on the sentencing. I'd bet money the judge recused himself after the plea hearing, which is quite typical.

To people unfamiliar with what this means, the answer is probably absolutely nothing. Judge's are randomly assigned and recuse themselves all the time for many reasons. The judge COULD have recused himself because he did something unethical but it's the least likely possibility and there is no reason to believe it is the case. I struggle to think of what the judge could have even done that is unethical in the context of just accepting a plea that the judge had nothing to do with.

edit: also note, Mueller has nothing to do with judge assignments. The court does that.

Mueller doesn't get to pick the presiding judge. At that courthouse, they literally use a big wheel to determine the judges for each case. Its 100% random.

In case you guys didn't know, the Twitter rumor mill is saying that CNN and WaPo is working on stories covering between 20-30 congresspeople and sexual harrassment right now.

This is the guy that Susan Collins called ugly, right?

Yeah, I heard that as well. It sounds like the settlement list is being passed around and they’re trying to vet the accuracy before it’s published.

Yes, after Ducky McPJ's threatened to fight her.
