in the words of homer simpson: "so far"
Donald J Trump: So I was sitting in the oval office today, and I realized, ever since I started, every single day of my presidency has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my presidency.
Dr. Swanson: What about today? Is today the worst day of your presidency?
Donald J Trump: Yeah.
Dr. Swanson: Wow, that's messed up.
Yeah. We are just 2 MONTHS!?! into this nightmare. Just give it some time.
I'm so sick of every news outlet being soft and safe with the phrase "connections with Russia." Comey used the word "coordination" throughout his testimony, which is much more serious.
It's already been made known that many cabinet members have connections with Russia, the investigation is about coordination and collusion.
But just last week, the president promised Tucker Carlson that we'd see evidence of Trump Tower surveillance "soon".
So, NOW, will you Trump supporters accept that he's a LIAR?
I think the new narrative is "all politicians are liars" now
Soon... As in geologically soon? or Astrophysically Cosmologically soon? We've already missed the window for fruit-fly soon, let alone bacteriologically soon.
Edit: corrected word
The President is really going the extra mile to denounce this whole story. He just posted on Twitter that this is fake news:
James Clapper and others stated that there is no evidence Potus colluded with Russia. This story is FAKE NEWS and everyone knows it!
Just think, if Beau Biden hadn't died, Joe would have run in 2016. He likely would have beat Hillary, and no one would be worried about Republicare at all.
I think Biden would have been a better president than Obama. He has similar (good) views but has a lot more experience. I've always heard that Obama wasn't all that good at going out there and harassing Congress to get his bills passed. But that's not counting a Congress that wanted to block anything and everything he did.
Plus Biden is white, I'm sure that played a part.
This comment is so fascinating to me. You do realize that Joe Biden is further right on every issue than either Obama or Hillary?
Joe Biden's "progressive street cred" just goes to show you that damn near no one on either side gives a shit about policy.
BIDEN: "For thousands of years I laid dormant, who dares disturb my slumber."
I can state w/ confidence that many intel members now decrying ‘leaks’ of classified info have themselves ‘leaked’ classified info knowingly,” Carl Bernstein tweeted on Monday.
he would know - he's a serious dc insider with a track record to prove it.
But but but, Benghazi?
Leaks are only leaks when they arent benefiting Republicans.
Gowdy turning himself in for his 10 years of prison when?
The President has been shown to be a liar willing to defame his predecessor to deflect responsibility, and is now confirmed to be under investigation by the FBI for treason.
Yet, the republican party has chosen to focus on the leakers exposing these facts, rather than the facts themselves.
The Republican party is no longer loyal to this country.
This just in: electing a Neanderthal with little to no diplomatic skill or social graces to the highest diplomatic office in the land can have a negative effect on our alliances.
More news to follow on this rather shocking revelation.
You know it's bad when top National Security Officials are subtly criticizing you on the record. Unfortunately Trumpists only see this as some kind of coup attempt by the "Deep State".
Trump destroyed the image of America in less than 60 days.
But he said we would get tired of winning!!
It was Nixon's aides who went to jail, not nixon
This would be a much different situation. Mike Pence would have to fall on the sword as being the president who pardoned a traitor. I think that is on a whole other level than what Ford did for Nixon.
As such, I think pence would never be stupid enough to destroy him and his party to save a guy who conspired against his own country.
Conspiring with a hostile foreign government to undermine our country's democratic process. If that isn't treason then I don't know what is.
Never underestimate stupidity.
I like this development. I like it very much.
Chekhov's prosecutor. The writers went to all that trouble of introducing him, I knew he was going to show up in the plot again later.
kinda feeling....wait, is it...is this what hope feels like?
The assistant U.S. Attorney who led public-corruption prosecutions under now-fired Preet Bharara is taking on a new gig probing the Trump administration.
Frightening and excellent thread by Jasmin Mujanović about the alternative universe Trump and his propaganda machine has created:
Parallel universe Trump's hardcore supporters live in will become a major problem for American society as his house of cards come undone.
Listening to rally in Kentucky, it's clear these folks won't be psychologically able to process or blame coming political, economic disasters on Trump.
He's toyed all along with the need for violence, conflict to accomplish his agenda. Significant segments of his base believe this too.
If/when actual proceedings begin to oust him from the White House, how will these hardcore types respond? Would they even tolerate a loss in 2020?
Massive spike in hate crimes since election a major red flag. Trump has unleashed and relies on the most reactionary elements to stay in power.
Sarah Kendzior has written extensively on this topic. Socio-economic hurt Trump will unleash on his base won't really dampen their support.
His is not a traditional admin. He speaks of it as a movement but we might best understand it as an authoritarian cult of personality.
Members of such cults are constitutionally incapable of processing, responding to what their leaders do to them. It's too traumatic.
It's why older folks in many (ex)authoritarian regimes still idolize old autocrats even after their fall; their resentment turned outward.
When Trump's hardcore base turns their trauma outward post-impeachment/election loss, violence may very well be the result.
Folks need to understand: beyond day to day circus of admin and its fate, political dynamics Trump has unleashed won't easily retreat.
Obviously, the sooner he's gone, the better. But Trumpism will survive Trump. And that's a generational concern for US society.
Turns out the sites screaming that the MSM were fake news could be fake news themselves. Oh, the irony.
Nazism survived Hitler. The KKK is still around.
Hate will always have a platform.
The key is to shame those asshats back under the rocks from whence they came.
Set projection to maximum intensity.
This is the kind of post that needs to reach the front page. "What can we do to help?", and "Who deserves our support?" instead of "how outraged can we be at all the bad things"?
