My nana wrote me a letter in 1991 that I couldn't open till 2017. The date finally came and I've never felt something so genuine and precious.

Yes! She'll be 80 this fall

Please tell us your nana is still with us and has celebrated her 79th birthday...

Haha. I'm very sneaky. I am Trevor.

This made my day, but if your username is davedavedaveck, I'm guessing your name isn't Trevor.

Man reunites with a girl he rescued during Hurricane Katrina

Man reunites with a girl he rescued during Hurricane Katrina

News story, since some of you will want to know

And for the lazy who don't want to click, the Master Sgt there is Pararescue, who pulled the girl and her family out of Katrina. 10 years later, in 2015, they reunited, and since then the girl has gone on to apply for Air Force JROTC because the MSgt has stayed involved in her life.

Serious case of "paying it forward". Good for her. And him, for saving her and staying involved in her life.

PJs are some bad-ass mofos. Arguably every bit as tough as SEALs, if not tougher. Superman School, the 2-year training program, has an 80% attrition rate, one of the highest in U.S. spec-ops training.

These Things We Do, That Others May Live

Wow, just realized it's been almost 12 years since Katrina.

17 years and your uncle still pulls off the sweatshirt and plaid flannel combo

Yeah that happened around 2006-09. They were planning a new geothermal power plant that uses heat from the earth to run a steam turbine. It turned out that the optimal place to build it was already occupied by those buildings. They talked about knocking them down, but people freaked because it would screw up the historic Cleveland skyline. The compromise was just shifting everything over a few blocks. There's some really cool before and after photos out there. Just Google "Cleveland steamer pics"

edit:

Comfort..... comfort never changes

Some of those building have moved.

Without colour 'correction'

While I agree that OP's photo is way oversaturated, I wouldn't say this is any better – it's desaturated below what is actually realistic.

I have a strong feeling that this woman is no where near 100 years old. Anyone find any actual proof to support this claim?

She is the spitting image of my 90 year old grandmother, except black. It's so uncanny it's a bit unsettling.

Black don't crack

Imagine hitting 60 and having 48 years more years of life

Technically all photos are once in a lifetime.

I like that you told us it was your friend's photo instead of claiming you rock climbed 400 feet using only your non-dominant hand to get this picture.

Bamboozled again

Actually my gf took this, you don't know her she goes to another school.

I said Colin Mochrie, and then blubbered for about 2 mins and then had a seizure. Good night so far

So whose line did you use anyway when you approached him?

Sounds like you made a mochrie of the entire Whose Line fanbase.
