and the "memes" all feel very paint by numbers
okay, beep beep.
"Neoliberal is almost certainly a shill subreddit; when comparing to other subreddits of its size it doesn't quite add up. The userbase is too active, it rose to prominence way too quickly without being a subreddit for an already popular fandom, and the "memes" all feel very paint by numbers.
Left and right have generally come to the conclusion that something is amiss on that sub. It's probably even more bot heavy than the Donald."
Also my tumblr meme template.
I need to rentseek pls
Holy shit this is a spicy meme

This is his pivot to the center.

Ted Cruz confirmed NOT a globalist.
Apparently his interns use tweetdeck when tweeting for him, and he uses an iphone. The meta data indicates the tweet came from an iphone...

A) We recognize that our current healthcare system is bad, and government intervention is necessary.
B) That said, single payer is not the only (or best) way to achieve universal coverage, although it would be an improvement. A multi-payer system with the government as an option would be most of our preference. This system is used in Germany.
C) Sanders' particular proposal was terrible. It included no measures for cost control (healthcare is limited, after all) and thus would have ballooned costs. It was poorly designed and would have probably failed as a college assignment.
D) Hillary was a huge proponent for UHC. That was a signature issue of hers in the 90's and 000's. Just because she's more of an adult about our current options doesn't make her less of an ally.
E) I love how you immediately blame the insurance companies. The insurance industry makes about 3% in profit each year. Where does most of that profit go? Hospitals and care providers. Please do basic research before criticizing an entire industry.
Health economist here.
No. Single payer does not inherently lead to lower costs or higher quality of life (what) or higher productivity (double what).
Bernie's Medicare For All still sits on a fee for service structure and still doesn't address what happens when providers in the US don't want to play ball and either balance bill, or if that's prohibited, only take non-Medicare patients who pay in cash or have a private insurer.
Because all universal health care systems have private insurers because this exact thing always happens. The US will be even more susceptible because of the difference between private rates and Medicare's fee schedule.
"Bargaining power" isn't the magic wand a lot of self-styled progressives think it is, for a couple of obvious reasons:
A) Many providers have a monopoly in medically-underserved areas and the federal govt can't force them to provide service.
B) If providers and insurers are inherently profit-seeking, then wouldn't they keep costs at absolute minimums to maximize the revenue they get to keep? Doesn't this "market forces 101" example allude to the fact that we have bad incentive structures, and it goes beyond who pays for care?
He also opposed the TPP, called open borders a "Koch brothers proposal" and ran his campaign on slogans and 'anti establisment' drivel. His policies like free college appealed to white middle class college kids and alienated the minorities that the democrats have relied on for support. He's a populist thru and thru, not to mention he self identifies as a socialist.
That's really beautiful prose but he still supports protectionism and a $15 national minimum wage
How many layers of irony do I need to be on for this to make sense
i have no idea what the fuck this is but i love it

as far as reddit is concerned though, that is a good thing
That's like complaining smokers just moved outside to stand in the smoking area to smoke.
I'm happy me and the rest of Reddit are no longer affected by their second hand stupidity and low IQ prejudices. Just like second hand smoke, their second hand stupidity can be harmful and cause serious irritation.
And voat is just like the outside smoking area, a depressing little space with only similar depressing people for company all doing the exact same thing where they can only cause limited damage and harm to others.
That could also make it harder for them to recruit impressionable youths. Nobody neutral is going to Voat.
The first step towards preventing radicalization is making it harder for vulnerable, impressionable people to stumble upon radical echo chambers.
"All Of Us Are USA"
Sincere me: Awww
Murica me: Heh, not YET.
The Iranian people and the government pretty much universally condemned the attack.
Theres some emotion deep inside of me, maybe anger or maybe grief, because we pissed away all the good will (and budget surpluses) the world had towards us at that time.
Bangladesh, one of the pictured countries, is 86% Muslim
Iran, also pictured, is 99% Muslim.
You must not have been playing attention to the OP
papa always taught me as a young boy growin up that when a regulatory system results in huge percentages of people breaking the law, it's probably the system that's broken and not the people
I agree, and we should make it as quick and easy as possible to come here legally.
This statue is most likely the greatest monument to American values that will ever be built. Everything this statue represents, from liberty, compassion, and diversity, is something that we need to strive to accomplish individually and as a country. If we abandon these values then we will lose everything that made this country great, in fact what made this country exceptional, and if we willingly give up these values we deserve to lose our greatness.
A big historic movie theater near me in Oakland, CA has a citizenship swearing-in ceremony at like 9AM once every couple weeks. Thousands of people attend every time. This is downtown and traffic backs up around the block and delays buses in and out of the bus station, and makes it hard for cyclists and pedestrians to navigate the streets. Tons of confused drivers who may never have been in downtown Oakland driving around making mistakes, not understanding the signage and road striping (since there are some unique road features in this area.)
Even as I go downstairs into the subway station on my way to work in the City, the faregates are mobbed by people of all ethnicities and (for a short time longer) all nationalities getting off the train. Confused grandparents with three generations in tow trying to figure out the ticket system for the first time, blocking the escalators and stairs while simultaneously corralling young children doing what young children are wont to do. I can feel like a salmon swimming upstream trying to get down to the platform. It can only really be described as controlled chaos.
Every damn time, I'm thinking to myself "If this is the price we pay to make more proud American neighbors for myself, why aren't we doubling the number?"
"It isn't that a controlled market is failing, it's that we don't understand the controls."
I think from his perspective it kind of makes sense: It looks like he's caring for his people and at the same time the government officials who control the black market (and happen to be on his side) get a source of income.
Principal Skinner: Am I so out of touch?
Also Principal Skinner: No, it's the black marketers that risk life and livelihood who are wrong.
I will use this flamethrower to stop this house fire
Great readability. Dark red text on a black background was an excellent choice.
This sub was a mistake
God damn, this sub is such a circlejerk, but I can't get enough.
