We Kingdom Hearts now.
They're video game characters. Why can't they run into other video game characters?
This movie sounds a little off, like a little too "committee-made".
Don't get me excited or hopeful. Kingdom Hearts is the only thing left from my childhood I don't have closure on.
Still sad Sacha Baron Cohen won't be playing him, but Rami Malek is amazing too.
I hope the band don't have a lot of say in this, in alot of cases this would be a ridiculous thing to say, but hearing how they want Freddie to die half way through the movie, that doesn't seem right.
I just can't get around the fact that Malek doesn't look much like him. Sacha Baron Cohen was a much better choice.
The film is going to focus on the years leading up to the Live AID '85 performance. It won't cover his death at all.
Edit: Also, Brian May and Roger Taylor are both listed as producers.
Singer is only doing this project so he can hire a bunch of barely legal twink extras for all the party scenes. Then get all their numbers.
If the fight with the Underminer plays out fast, I wouldn't be mad as the game covered it already
I wouldn't expect the Underminer to be the main villain. Most likely it's going to be a quick action sequence to reintroduce the characters and their abilities. A close example I can think of is The Dark Knight beginning with Batman taking out Scarecrow.
Could easily be extended family. A brother to either parent long ex-communicated and resentful of the Incredibles success as well as blames them for the downfall of the Supers.
Hard to see a member of the base family flipping to the villain role after ending the first movie on a real "together" vibe, especially if the story is going to pick up where the first left off.
There seems to be a lot of rumors that the main villain is someone from the family. Jack-Jack? Dash? Not sure how I feel about that.
Wait, he ain't fat
You really thought they would have cast an overweight kid as the main character? It's Hollywood!
March 30, 2018 release date.
If anyone was wondering.
The thing is, he's fat in real life but his video game avatar isn't. So it would have been a cool visual contrast.
Edit: I know he gets fit later. They could have used a fatsuit/cgi for the beginning. Although now that I type that out, I'm starting to understand why they didn't.
That's the least dynamic dynamic shot I've seen in a while. Looks like she's stood on an invisible shelf
Whoever thought this picture was ideal to promote a big budget action film is just lost. It looks terrible.... It looks look she stood and flat ground with a arm in the air and they just took that picture and dropped on it the side of a mountain haha
Her abs for the movie
I can't figure out what is so off about it but it looks really weird, my first thought was terrible greenscreen but it looks like it could be real? Wtf is this
I am Neill Blomkamp, director of Chappie, District 9 and creator of Oats Studios. Ask me anything!
Hi Reddit, I am Neill Blomkamp, director at OATS STUDIOS. I also was the filmmaker behind District 9, Elysium and Chappie. I’m here to discuss Oats Studios, previous films and anything else you want to discuss. So please, ask me anything!
About Oats Studios:
EDIT: I have to go back to work, thanks so much for having me, very cool to try and explain some of what we are doing at oats. really appreciate it. For people who haven't seen or don't know about oats check links above. Let us know what works and what doesn't work. thanks N
ok, so with district 10 the basic answer is yes. I want to go back to that world and tell rest of the story with wikus and christopher. the issue right now is that I have many other projects and ideas that I also want to work on and complete..... and most importantly, the exact right REASON to make district 10 needs be very clear. the first film was based so explicitly on real themes and topics from south africa that effected me greatly growing up there, that we need to make sure the next film does not forget that.
Are there any plans for District 10?
actually probably not. 1- 3 sets up the vampire love story, and 4 onwards kind of explains the world more, so no i wouldn't just watch 9.
This makes me want to watch District 9 again. I remember when it came out I thought it was one of the best sci-fi movies of all time.
Maybe start producing low budget, full length movies, too? You know, to pay the bills...worked for Jason Blum at least (Split, Get Out).
Funhaus had a really good interview with him a week or so ago. It really highlights how much he cares about his projects, and what he wants to accomplish with them.
What he should do is adopt the Golan-Globus model (I think it was them) - create schlocky, inexpensive things that sell tickets and use the profits (hopefully) to fund independent projects.
I hope this takes off.
Giving young filmmakers chances early can really only be a good thing in the long run. They get exposure early, hopefully some real buzz around their names, get given more chances and hopefully work with more and more outsole helping them learn earlier than they might otherwise.
This may be old news as I think it was in Matt Reeves' contract to start fresh with his own vision. This was back when he was teasing his "noir" version.
"In the original script, Deadstroke was the villain, with Joe Manganiello cast. "
I heard he snuck a gay sex scene in just to see if anybody was actually gonna read it.
If Reeves and Co deliver a stronger script than what Affleck & Terrio where cooking up, why would this distance Affleck even further from reprising the role? The pressure is off Affleck to wear too many hats in this production; now all he has to focus on is he acting and most of us really enjoyed what he brought to the role, now with Wonder Woman doing so well and Whedon taking over ( due to unfortunate circumstances) for JL; WB/DC have got a lot going for them in terms of helmers. I see that as all reason for Affleck to stay on, esp. when you consider his history with WB. All I see in this story is up.
This is such fantastic news . I was hoping Pesci would bend a bit and now we're going to see Film History.
Oh. My. God. Joe Pesci back in a Scorsese movie.
"You motherfucker, you."
Like his past roles - he couldn't have played this any better. He waited for everyone to want him really bad.
And two Tolkien white guys...
"Where's Wallace, String?"
Uh... the gym, apparently.
Afrofuturism is fucking cool.
I'm loving the suit and especially the mask. Those feet though...
