Calgary Flames communications director reacts to incumbent mayor Naheed Nenshi winning re-election

The tweet is now deleted. What a jackass. He just compared a mayor that wont bend over backwards for a billionaire to the racist Donald Trump. GTFO.

"Why won't the mean mayor build our arena with his money???"

I'd agree, but his personal account is plastered with Flames' stuff, and as is pointed out, Flames' VP also made a #TeamBillSmith tweet. After all the Bill Smith for Mayor ads in the Flames' arena...they had to know they'd get significant blowback if they posted that stuff, and did it anyway.

(Sidenote, if you're communications director, you should know better than to post that to a public account after your business spent a solid month or so getting flack for getting involved in local politics. And definitely should have known better than to send that exact tweet, with the comparison to Trump, because now the Flames are going to have a bigger PR mess on their hands - it's very, very bad for optics.)

A #outoftouch mayor who just got elected to a third term despite a very well funded campaign to unseat him from this city's most powerful people.

Who's out of touch here Sean?

Tyler Johnson and Nikita Kucherov for the past 3 seasons in Detroit

You're not wrong...you're just an asshole

Lol no, TBL should've signed him longterm like 8x8 when they had the chance. Now they're gonna have to shell out at least 10 after his short bridge contract runs out.

So fucking dirty

Kucherov is only 4th player in past 30 years to score in 6 straight games to open the season, joining Yzerman, Lemieux, and Tkachuk

Two Lightning Legends on that list.

I'm not one to overreact, but those words warrant a tussle.

Damn didn't realize Matthew Tkachuk was so good.

The odds on him winning the hart at the beginning of the season were stuuuuuppppiiiidddd low at +4000 so I bet $4. Bring it home, Kuch.

Baller. Don't have to listen to Milbury during the Hawks/Blues game. Best news ever.

It's crazy how attached you get to these sportscasters. They become this integral part of your highest highs and lowest lows as a fan to the point where the memories can't be recalled without their narration.

Glad to see Edzo back.

YES!! So excited to have him back, even if it's just for short bursts. Health comes first, of course, but I've missed his crayon color analysis.

Milbury's so bad you've got people happy to hear the opposing team's announcer. Granted, Edzo does a good job at staying neutral for national broadcasts, but the point stands.

8.35M in Cap Space. Only Carolina (13.94M) and Arizona (15.48M) have more.

LETS FUCKING DO SOMETHING WITH IT THEN!

I'll have one Tavares to go, please and thank you.

Considering the NHL season so far it means we'll lose 4-0

Return of the King

Why can't I be a fan of a player who plays for a divisional rival lol

Oh shit if they scored 6 goals against Calgary and Edmonton without him imagine how many goals they're going to score against the Canucks with Cyborg Karlsson

FILTHY

This gave me so many fantasy points. Hell yes

The leash is off Doughty now. He is jumping up in the play so much already this season. I think Doughty on your team was finally a good pick up.

Super slowmo of Vladimir Tarasenko's rocket goal through Dan Girardi's skate

Super slowmo of Vladimir Tarasenko's rocket goal through Dan Girardi's skate

Dan Girardi has been blocking shots for over 10 years and finally a shot went THROUGH him, literally

Not trying to be the Debbie downer, but someone posted an overhead view of this yesterday that shows it goes between his legs, not through his skate.

The... the.. 6th hole??

Forbort and Carter deny Tavares the tying goal in the dying seconds of the game - NYI@LAK, 15OCT2017

is it me or did Carter get really defensively responsible this season?

I mean, he wasn't bad as a two way player the past few years but his strengths was definitely more towards the offensive side.

Also serves as a summary of Tavares's season so far

As per usual, credit to /u/ericburger

I've always thought he's been very responsible since nestling into the Kings system a few years ago. In my opinion I think now he's finally getting credit for it is all.
