Wasn't this free before recently? I think from Humble maybe?
Me: "Wow, free game!". Proceeds to get happy....only to see this message on steam 'The Red Solstice is already in your Steam library'.
Now, I don't know whether to feel happy or sad.
Sweet, I cant wait to never play it!
This is one of the most boring and bland games i've ever played. Everything from the setting to the story to the characters to the sound effects is completely generic. There is next to no tactical element. Positioning, abilities, targetting - all irrelevant. You just click a spot, your team walks there and automatically shoots everything they encounter.
Play Alien Swarm instead. It's free and actually fun.
as a 'best of' thats a pretty terrible bundle
Aka the "We have a bunch of leftover keys for these games" bundle
Humble Hotdog Bundle.
Sounds fun, we know it's made from leftovers and while enjoyable, might do you more harm in the long term.
Thank god 2017 is over if that's the best it could offer
This game has one of the best soundtracks of all time imo. Performed by the Japanese Philharmonic Orchestra. This game really made me feel like a kid again, exploring make believe fantasy adventures that I used to come up with. But, that said, it definitely won't be for everyone. The battle system...takes some getting used to (to put it nicely). There used to be a demo so I assume there still is, check it out and see if you can stand the battle system.
Release it on PC pleaaase
The issue with the game for me was the hand holding. I think I was something like 60 hours in and the game was still treating me like I was in the tutorial. Like how every time you encounter an NPC that you can capture an emotion from, Drippy would stop to tell you how to do it. I had done it over 20 times and he was still walking me through it step by step like it was the first time. I couldn't take it any more and just quit.
Olly ol boy! You need to capture his heart!
But Drippy, I've already...
Shut up Olly and capture his heart! HIS HEART!
Man I bought the game and expansions on release for the total price of like $100. It was still worth it at that price. Buy this game, it's a steal.
Can't help but notice that the base Wild Hunt is the same price as the GOTY Wild Hunt. Hope no one accidently buys the base version. Especially since they are both being advertised on the front page of the store.
I have sunk 200 hrs into it and still yet to start the DLC. The content amount and the things you can done are just absurd.
I'll suggest to clear backlog first, since the Witcher goes for this price quite often if you prefer, anyway if you buy it you won't regret it don't matter the price.
GUN - $4.99 / 75% off
Crysis Maximum Edition - $7.49 / 75% off
Crysis 2 Maximum Edition - $7.49 / 75% off
Prototype - €4.99 / 75% off
Prototype 2 - $9.99 / 75% off
Command & Conquer - Red Alert 3 - $4.99 / 75% off
Other notable games this week:
Dying Light - $15.99 / 60% off
Kingpin Life of Crime - $6.99 / 30% off
Gothic Universe Edition - $4.99 / 75% off
Kingdoms of Amalur - Reckoning - $4.99 / 75% off
Isn't the ultimate edition of that game for a few dollars more a much better deal?
I remember the first one being kinda fun. It was similar to Infamous. But in Prototype you could land on a civilian, surf on their body, grinding their face into the cement; while absorbing them for energy. 10/10
Haven't played the second one, yet. Mainly because I feel as though it's always overpriced, and I haven't heard anything good about it.
I’ve been playing Kingdoms of Amalur, and I really recommend it. The world is big and there are a ton of quests. Doing things regularly can give you like 50 hours if playtime. The dlc give two new regions to explore but you can’t go back until the dlc is done. The weapon pack just gives you a bit more powerful weapons and armor at the start of the game in the first town.
Just going to remind people to be wary of savings if the store does not offer refunds. VR is very very vey much buy beware and if there ever was a objective argument for mandatory refund options its VR. Doom VFR and Fallout 4 VR are both amazing and incredibly frustrating at the same time and unless you can trial it somewhere else first, be way of 3rd party stores where you lose any option to refund.
DOOM VFR ($20.99, -30%) Fallout 4 VR ($41.99, -30%) GORN ($14.99, -25%) Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope ($19.99, -50%) Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality ($20.99, -30%) Arizona Sunshine ($23.99, -40%) SUPERHOT VR ($16.74, -33%) Star Trek: Bridge Crew ($24.99, -50%) Eagle Flight ($19.99, -50%) To The Top ($14.99, -40%) Gal*Gun VR ($20.09, -33%) Fruit Ninja VR ($8.99, -40%) Duck Season ($14.99, -25%) Raw Data ($31.99, -20%) Eleven: Table Tennis VR ($9.99, -50%) IronWolf VR ($14.99, -25%) The Gallery - Episode 1: Call of the Starseed ($7.99, -60%) The Gallery - Episode 2: Heart of the Emberstone ($23.99, -20%) QuiVR ($14.99, -25%) I Expect You To Die ($19.99, -20%) Sairento VR ($25.49, -15%) ALICE VR ($4.99, -50%) Skyfront VR ($11.99, -40%) VRZ: Torment ($9.99, -50%) BATMAN™: ARKHAM VR ($11.99, -40%) Internal Light VR ($2.99, -40%)
Just my TLDR thoughts:
Doom VFR - Meh. It’s kinda cool but it’s wasn’t that great when I played it as launch. Probably best to get on steam so you can refund it if you don’t like it.
Fallout 4 - once you get it up and running and modded how you want, it’s incredible. But you have to be willing to put time into tweaking it. Yes Bethesda botched the launch, but if you’re not willing to try to fix it for yourself, pass on it. Personally I recommend it. Edit: buyers should be aware that there is no “official” dlc support from Bethesda for this. There are work arounds to this, but buyers should be aware that the only way to get dlc for this, is to buy/own the non vr Fallout 4 and it’s dlc (because steam will not download dlc for a game you don’t own).
Gorn - super fun and gruesome. Worth it.
Arizona Sunshine - probably the default zombie horde shooter. Recommended.
Superhot VR - even cooler than the regular version but you’re limited to one save slot and no level select. So where you turn the game off, is where the game starts the next time. Not ideal for party/ group scenarios, or vr first timers. Edited: apparently if you beat the game, more modes open up for you to choose how to play, but you have to beat the game first. But I recommend it.
To the Top - very interesting and pretty cool. Feels like rock climbing in an urban setting almost. Recommended if you are intrigued by rock climbing or are afraid of heights.
Fruit ninja VR - good for 5 minutes. Gets old pretty quick. Not recommended.
Duck season - intriguing premise. The shooting sections aren’t difficult and can get tedious when you just want to progress the story. Recommend getting it on steam so you can refund it if you don’t like it.
I expect you to die - so you like puzzles? Have you ever wanted to be in a Bond villain trap? If you said yes, I recommend this.
Sairento - great cyber ninja/ matrix shooter game. Highly recommended.
One comment on Super Hot VR, when you beat the entire game, you can do different modes that are reasonably suitable for parties. Additionally, it has a demo mode that's pretty good for parties.
Currently cheaper on voidu (€7.49 ≃ $11.74 AUD).
The site says it's only for the Europe region, don't know if that includes Oceania.
Once you play it for about 40 hours, yes
All legit mate. No code stripping nonsense here
With Voidu3 discount code is 7,27€
Damn Dark Souls 3 as an early release? Humble Bundle has been killing it lately.
Last month's unlocks:
Wow with the DLC that is a historic low, great deal!
WinGameStore has the Dark Souls III - The Ringed City DLC on sale for $12.25 USD after applying the "pcgames5off" coupon (assuming you haven't used it on a previous purchase as it's a one-time-use code). Grabbing that and the March early unlock is the equivalent of the Deluxe Edition.
If you can't use the coupon it's 4 cents cheaper at GameBillet at $12.85.
As someone who owns all Rockstar games on PC here's some things you should know:
Bully has compatibility issues with Windows 10. It crashes randomly, with and without mods. No known fix.
Bully is locked to 30 FPS, but can be bypassed with the 60 FPS patch
GTA SA on Steam is v3, which removes quite a lot of songs from the base game, and you are unable to use mods on it, if you wish to use mods, use the Steam dowgrade patch, yes this means you can use SAMP, CLEO and all other mods.
Max Payne 3 + L.A Noire require a Rockstar Games Social Club account., GTA 4/EFLC, it's not required.
GTA IV/EFLC use Games For Windows Live, which is defunct. You can bypass this using XLiveLess.
GTA SA, Vice City and GTA 3 are DRM free and do NOT require Steam to be launched.
L.A Noire is locked to 30 FPS, uncapping the FPS will result in facial glitches.
Some people report issues with GTA3/VC on 64 bit OS.
For User Tracks (on 3/VC/SA), it will only support .m4a tracks if QuickTime is installed on your PC, otherwise SA won't play iTunes' tracks.
Some people have reported issues with Manhunt on Windows 10, fix can be found here
Bully, GTA IV/EFLC are poorly optimized. For example, Bully will run great on low end machines, like Intel HD machines, but that doesn't mean it'll run great on RX cards, Bully ran at 40 fps at 720p on my ASUS laptop, at "lowest" settings, but on my Core i5-2500k, with RX 460, it runs at 45 - 60 FPS on highest. It's a similar case for GTA IV, don't expect it to run great on your rig, many people noticed GTA IV runs worse than GTA V regardless of specs.
Most of the games here are very low end friendly games. GTA 3/VC/SA will run on practically anything (I'm ashamed to admit I played SA on Intel Atom with GMA 935 graphics at 30 fps). GTA 4/EFLC/MP3/LAN require a more modern machine though.
For MacOS users, you will only get GTA 3/VC/SA and Max Payne 3 out of this bundle. Nothing for Linux. I don't know if you can get Bully/GTA4 etc running through WINE.
Thanks for this. Almost lost $15.
This bundle really showcases how poorly rockstar 'supports' their older games
For one of the most prominent developers around, Rockstar seem to take piss-poor care of their games.
FYI to anyone who hasn't played it, it's a good dev (they did Castle Crashers and Pit People) and a fun game. Lots of fun co-op to be had.
And hilarious narration!
Fantastic cartoony platformer with tons of charm and humor (Stamper’s narration is phenomenal) and an even better experience with friends. Absolutely give this game a try if you haven’t done so already.
The glorious trailer:
