Ancient French aliens built this.

248, but I remember from visiting this place and reading the signs they put up with historical information.

If I remember correctly they were raucous, often very drunk, harrassed the local women, and so forth. So they were given something to do while drinking, instead of rape and pillage.

Oh god, you speak their language? Alien bastard.

Lol Turkey

Unfortunately I see in Europe some rookies are trying to ruin their countries. This jealousy towards our glorious leader, ahh soo pathetic.

Guys, please, do not lower yourself more. You cannot compete with our glorious leader. Orban, Kaczyński, May... These are rookies. They just try. To really ruin your country, try is not enough. You have to believe, too. You have to believe that stars are not unreachable. That is why Erdogan is so successful. He believes. He believes we can ruin our country at the best.

One day Orban, Kaczyński, Putin, all of them will be forgotten. But history will always remember this glorious man. How he succeed. And how glorious he was on his journey.

God bless Erdogan.

Edit: Wow I woke up to a gold and very nice comments. Thank you Reddit!

Hehe ramlösa in Sweden. That's carbonated water, not really a soft drink.

The Finnish one is actually a brewery. Their most famous work is Koff-beer. I think they do soft drinks too, but I'm pretty sure they haven't named any of them 'Sinebrychoff'.

Edit: while I am extremely pretty, this time I meant to say that I'm pretty sure.

Julmust would be a much better choice!

While Red Bull is clearly the biggest from Austria, Almdudler is the greatest soft drink produced by anyone anywhere.

(Also Red Bull is technically a Thai creation)

Yesterday in Poland there were two speeches at the same time, given by the President and the Prime Minister

Yesterday in Poland there were two speeches at the same time, given by the President and the Prime Minister

Yeah, Prime minister was shown on Public TV (TVP), while President was on private ones like Polsat and TVN.

Pretty much everyone who has Tv, has the access to Polsat and TVN.

Looks like PiS is cutting the cord. Duda tried to appear as a concerned ally during yesterday veto speech, but Kaczyński is apparently having none of that and is brutally ejecting Duda from his camp. It's very interesting what Gowin (the leader of one of the two small parties that are incorporated into PiS) will do. Yesterday media said he and his party are likely to support the president, but they haven't made any official announcement as of yet. If they do, it could be the beginning of PiS shedding allies and ultimately fracturing, as did every other ruling right wing party in Poland before.

Edit: Gowin's party made an announcement in which it cautiously supports the objections of the presidential vetos and claims it shares the concerns.

What's the % of poles that have access to private networks like TVN? I assume their viewers are largely urban and lean younger?

Polish President unexpectedly vetoes the Supreme Court reform [Polish]

Polish President unexpectedly vetoes the Supreme Court reform [Polish]

Now the law will go back into the lower chamber, which needs 60% of the votes for repealing the veto. Ruling party has only 51% of seats. House of Cards tier move by the president.

Although I'm not Polish nor a Polish citizen I'm proud of them for taking to the streets and successfully defending their democracy.

Now the law will go back into the lower chamber, which needs 60% of the votes for repealing the veto.

off-topic: we need this stuff in Romania. Our president can veto stuff to and send it back to the parliament, only once though, but even then it would still require a simple 50+1 majority. This just makes the veto pointless, because if they had a majority to vote the law once, they'll have it again without problems. And the president can't veto it a 2nd time...

PSD is doing this for quite a while. Send the president a law, he sends it back, PSD then send the exact same law again, the president is then legally forced to sign it.

You got a really nice system there Poland. Never let them change it.

Three big law changes were introduced by the ruling party (PiS), nominally to fight corruption and Communist legacy. Because they are seen to undermine the independence of the judicial branch, this lead to quite significant protests all over Poland.

AFAIK the first bill was passed and now vetoed, the second introduced, and the third is proposed: also vetoed:

The first would have ended the terms of 15 of 25 members of the National Council of the Judiciary (NCJ). That's the body which has the most say in appointing judges. Their replacements would have been chosen by the Sejm (lower chamber of Parliament)

A second bill would allow the Minister of Justice to freely dismiss any chief judge of the general courts in the six months after the law's passing. This is the one that is not vetoed.

A third proposed bill would have retired all Supreme Court judges, except those explicitly retained by the Minister of Justice. The minister would have the power to appoint the First Justice and replacements for the retired judges

Links to all images are included below. I know some of these images aren’t technically Europe, but I thought it would look nicer to include them than just grey them out. Also, I’m aware that Greenland and Faroe Islands are part of Denmark, and that Svalbard is part of Norway but I gave them separate images otherwise the images would have to be too stretched out to fit and it probably wouldn’t look great.

EDIT2: Please stop telling me that the UK should have been split up. My reasoning for deciding to keep it as one is because the official, internationally recognised name of the country is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. If I divided up the UK, I could, arguably, divide up Spain into autonomous regions who are also all very different from each other linguistically, culturally and geographically. There was no political motivation behind this move so stop calling me a Unionist.
