I'm so sorry for your loss.
They do make good nurses, don't they? <3
They know, man. Had something similar with my first cat. RIP Vern.
He was certainly a good looking guy and a talented healer.
Peace to you :)
Awe. So glad we have animal friends as we walk through life. All the best to you.
Adding cooked, mashed pumpkin to their wet food can help while they are on a diet. Adding about a 1/4 cup of mashed pumpkin to their reduced serving of wet food helps them feel full while still giving them less food/calories in each meal.
The pumpkin basically helps fill their tummy and simply passes through with everything else and keeps their poops regular.
Simply cut back on the pumpkin slowly as they lose weight so they get used to smaller portions and feeling satisfied with less food as they progress towards their ideal weight.
EDIT: this is a short term thing to help ease them down to smaller portions over about a month, but the occasional tablespoon of mashed pumpkin, 2-3 drops of olive oil or some oily canned fish mixed with their usual wet food is also good just to help clear their tummies of hairballs and give their coat a little shine boost.
If you can afford it, a petsafe auto feeder is so wonderful. Schedule several feedings throughout the day with just the right portions. Including the 5am one so your cat is no longer an alarm clock.
Check with your vet. Don't experiment with your cats health based on some random on the internet.
Feeding cats non-meat products seems like a terrible idea, but I'm not a vet or a zoologist.
Oooh... That sounds like a fantastic idea. I'll definitely give that a try, thank you!
I've seen one mouse indoors in my life. I woke up to my then-girlfriend's cat staring me in the face with an intensity that freaked me out, then sat up and saw a mouse torn in half on the bedroom floor. I wonder how long he'd been waiting for me to wake up to witness his accomplishment. Never saw another mouse there after that.
It squeaks for itself. Or, used to...
The real Tom and Jerry. RIP Jerry.
Its the worst. I had chase mine with a mouse in his teeth and when I picked him up he drops it on the counter and the thing just runs like hell, thing was still very alive. Where’d it go? Right into my garbage disposal. Didn’t want it to stink. Have to think. Start taking dishes outta sink. Get a box w/ a lid and turn the water on, Mouse swam right out as planned.
your cat looks very cute and amazing.
Your cat just looks amazing.
british short hair
What kinda cat is that?
Is that a giant cat?
She’s a little chubby at 12 lbs.
how am i supposed to climb that? looks sad.
Kitty looks absolutely mesmerized and it’s adorable. ❤️
Great pic. Btw, if you think 9 is senile and is starting to get hard to take care of, wait until 21. My 21 year old cat is named fluffy and yells loud enough at 6 in the morning for food that my roommate can hear it downstairs.
Please tell me there are more!
Oh yes, there are many more :)
He wasn't friendly at all when he first came around and was scared of people but he lived next to my dorm building and people left food outside and then he started befriending people.
From the pic, he looks like he's in very good shape for a stray and is friendlier than I'd expect him to be. Could he have a family somewhere?
Ah, that explains why he's in such good body condition. How's he doing as an inside kitty?
He's doing great. He seems really happy to be in the warmth of indoors. And yeah, the students took really good care of him.
Who can say no to those eyes!
aaaaaaaaaawww!! lovely eyes, sweet sweet muffin!!
I need more pictures NOW
Such a beautiful potato.
Thank You! I found a glazed ceramic potato bowl but it was too small for her head. It would have been perfect for her water
To the vet! Have her examined, tested for fleas, worms, and cat diseases (FIV etc) and talk to them about having her spayed. She's beautiful and has clearly chosen you to be her human :)
Oh my goodness, she's beautiful! We have a stray Siamese in the neighborhood too. Wish I could give her a warm home for the winter. I love her name too!
That could be either, Savannah’s are usually more rare though, mine was 5,000 dollars
It is actually a Bengal, Savannah’s have pointy ears, he is still descended from a tiger. Maybe he got lost. My Savannah is lost rn, hopefully he doesn’t go to a shelter
He is a Bengal, I️ can tell by the round ears, he is descended from a tiger!
Bengals are descended from Asian leopards, and Savannah cats the African serval.
