Great comment. Thank you for your insight.
this is why you don't let other people manage your social media accounts... when they fuck up you're the one who looks like an idiot lol
This is why you hire someone knowledgeable in social media and don't do it yourself.
Yeah! Don’t with mess Arizona!
A phrase popularized by Texas. So unique.
yikes thats exactly how I read it too
I've been living in the Phoenix area for about 35 years and have never encountered one that I'm aware of.
Which serves me just fine as I'm terrified of the fuckers.
I lived in Maricopa for 8 years... not sure how I never ran into one.
Mojave Rattlesnake. You really don't want to get bite by one of those.
Spotted crossing the road near the desert area just north of Surprise Police Department south of Bell Road
I saw this and was like "fuck I hope this wasn't close to me"
I literally live across the street from the Surprise PD, fuuuuck no
Just left AZ headed back to Nashville :'( It was raining in Phoenix so I didn't get to see a sunset before I took off.
That’s a nice sunset.
If you have ever driven between LA and AZ, you'll feel like you just want to stop and take a look...it's that beautiful. There is simply no substitute for natural beauty.
Arizona teacher here... There's a LOT of chatter going through the grapevine about a strike. If it happens and you have a child in school, please don't be angry with us...
I'm sure you've already heard about us being ranked 51st in the nation for teacher salaries and benefits. I'm not going to elaborate on that.
I just want you to know that we really aren't being selfish.
Helping us will make things better for your children and grandchildren. As of now, classrooms are overcrowded because of the teacher shortage. There are about 22 students per teacher in Arizona (and that includes special area teachers who don't have a homeroom!). The national average is only 16 students per teacher!
Pay is so low we cannot attract talented people to the profession!
Better pay means more teachers. More teachers means smaller classrooms. That gives us a much better opportunity to ensure that each child is getting the attention and support they need to be successful.
Yes. Taxes suck. We all know that. But please, think of education as investment spending, not waste.
If you end up having to miss work because your child is stuck with no class to go to, please consider joining the teachers at the picket line and at the capital building.
Lastly... We apologize for any inconvenience we may cause you.
Some are asking what they can do to help. Buy us books, paper, and glue-sticks Write or call your representatives please. Don't make it a partisan thing. Just let them know that you believe education spending is important to Arizona's economic future. The current crisis is putting our young people at a disadvantage on the national career stage.
For the Ayn Rand fan club down in the comments... Do you really not understand that a well educated populace is a huge boon for the free market economy? You know, literate people with the skills needed to perform jobs in the modern world? The people who earn and spend the money that makes the whole big wheel turn? Ring any bells?
Yes, you all need a raise in pay, but in doing so, when the raise is given, the unfilled teacher positions need to be filled.
Many private company employees haven't received raises in years either, but most of us support you. You will hear bitching and moaning from many, but this mom supports you!
2 kids in schools and i support your cause
Go for it and go for it hard. Don't relent. I'd gladly pay more money for teachers to be adequately funded.
Many private company employees haven’t received a raise in years but I bet their CEO’s and ones at the top have. The only way to bring back the middle class is for the worker to organize. Bring back the unions. These companies ask for the worker every year to produce more in less time for the same money to save the company money. Do not buy the company line that they will go broke if they have to pay the worker, what is really being said is that they won’t get THEIR raise if they give you one. I completely support the teachers union.RedforEd UnionStrong
This looks like the Jerry Bruckheimer production company logo.
No problem! SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex. This refers the the mirror in the viewfinder, a prism, which allows one to view the image through the lens. Older cameras, much like disposable cameras, don't use mirrors built into the shutter, but instead have a separate viewfinder so u have to guess the framing.
There are several cheap 35mm SLR cameras, like Minolta's, which offer interchangeable lenses and are cheap and easy to get into (plus cost of buying/developing/printing film)
There are digital cameras which do the exact same thing but are generally a bit more expensive, however as time goes on, digital SLR cameras become cheaper. Hope this helps!
good framing! you might want to look into getting a proper SLR type camera should you want to take it to the next level!
Arizonan's read this as:
"Keep right, unless i'm already going the "speed limit", in which case everybody can wait because i'm obeying the law"
A better sign: Keep Right Except to Pass
There's a fundamental difference.
To which so, SOOOOOOOO many winter visitors take as, "I'm going the speed limit. It's my responsibility to block the left lane so that people don't speed."
And outside HOV hours, the HOV lane is not the HOV lane but the passing lane.
People lose their shit and cannot drive properly when it rains in Az. A 20 minute commute became a good 40 yesterday. Probably happen again today too. Smh
If all people from northern AZ act as smug as you, then I'm fucking glad about my close proximity to the border.
True, but I have driven on California freeways during heavy rain, and people over there don't seem to give a shit and just swerve off the road left and right.
Water + oil on road = not safe...slow down
I'll take some slowpokes over that shit
Not true. We have monsoons each year and El Niño every four years. In addition, more than half of all Phoenician drivers are from somewhere else. Especially during the winter. Plus, this goes both ways. I've spoken to a New Yorker who was literally expecting saloons, horseback travel in the streets, and six shooter gun fights in most areas except Phoenix-Tucson. Like as though the rest of the state is Wyatt Earp-style culture. I asked her if she had been expecting roadrunners to be tall, blue, and so fast that a cloud of dust follows them when they run.
My brother just informed me there was a SpaceX launch in Vandenberg tonight and that is what we are seeing
Elon Musk skywriting his scrotum across SoCal
Local news reporting the same. Boosters separation was the debris
Yes, just saw it in Goodyear.
Anyone in Mesa get startled from the thunder?
At first I thought someone was in my backyard trying to break down my window lol
Yes! Yikes, I thought it was the end!
It was crazy. Was out in the rain and then WAM "Nope, time to go inside!"
I took but it just doesn't do it justice.
I slept right through it.
Yes. Woke me right up
