I'm posting this here for more visibility.

From the Raid School Bus discord channel:

Hello everyone! Two Things:

1) On February 13th at 1PM ET, 10 representatives will be having a closed 30 minute long text chat with DE staff regarding the future implementation of raids/trials. In order to gather feedback on this matter from the general community, Warframe Raid School Bus staff (along with the help of a few community members) have created a survey. We would greatly appreciate if you fill out ASAP. The results of this survey will be directly shared with DE staff during the meeting. Unfortunately, we have a very short notice and schedule to meet in which to prepare everything for this. Hence, the short notice for this announcement. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please feel free to contact @vaminos (Venn2)#9720, @Pegasy#0001, or @Lord Of Erebus#6969. There is limited time until the meeting, so we recommend filling out the survey before the meeting if you want your concerns heard at the time.

2) @pls no kick kthnx and others are organizing a big raiding event on WFRSB: A Farewell to Trials. This event will include a variety of raids. We will be streaming and encouraging participation in this from the community. We would love to hear and see you partake in this event with us, so let us know what date and time works best for you! (We will have events such as speedrunning tournaments, challenge raids, teaching raids/buses, etc.) If you have any questions or things to note regarding this, please feel free to contact @pls no kick kthnx, @Lord Of Erebus#6969, or @Sigh166#6969.

End-note: We do have detailed statistics of activity in raids. However, this information will be made public at a later date as there are still some more statistics that we wish to add before publicizing it.

Edit 2: u/vaminos has given a small FAQ about this matter:

I can clarify and answer some of these questions. I'm one of the original founders of RSB and will be participating in the town hall.

1.) Is this legit?

Yes, in fact DE were the ones to approach us and ask for more input from the community, so they're the de-facto organizers of the chat.

2.) Why is the guest list not public?

For multiple reasons - there was no time or reason to organize a public selection process, so we just selected a number of people on our own. Also, publicizing the list would cause lots of unnecessary drama regarding our choices, which there is no time to address anyhow. What I can say though, is that everyone in the group is among the most active participants in the raiding community. These guys have worked with new players, been there from the very start, participated actively in the community and are well aware of the various issues concerning raids from day one until now. We'll also be using the survey to make sure the community agrees with what we have to say, and to support our statements.

3.) Will the discussion be public?

No, the discussion will be held behind closed doors. Afterwards, the detail to which we publicize it will be largely left up to DE. What I can say for certain is that we will share what we planned to discuss, what was discussed, and the results of the survey shortly after the chat.

4.) What to expect

You know the drill: don't expect an ETA on new raids, or any details regarding them. This is primarily for us to relay information to them, not the other way around. As I already said, I'll ask DE about how much they're ok with us sharing on their part.

5.) Will every single one of my concerns be addressed?

No, it will not. We are constrained by time and DE are busy people, as such we will focus on what we consider the most important topics, and ones we can contribute to the most.

In conclusion, this is a rather short, semi-informal chat that doesn't dictate how, when or if new raids will be designed, so don't stress too much. Each of us could go on for hours about these topics, so 30 minutes only allows us to cover so much ground. We'll post more info here and on RSB after we finish talking to DE.

Raids are the absolute worst content ingame currently. I'm saying this knowing damn well pvp exists. It is the embodiment of everything warframe is currently bad at. What's worse is that it's not evem hard, because bullet sponges =/= hard. The only good part about raids were the rewards and the multilayered gameplay. The variety was interesting at first but got old really quick. I originally played raids day one, and hated them ever since. We shouldn't vouch for them to stay but to heavily rework them. They feel like an unfinished unpolished piece of content. Imo not worth playing unless you're selling arcanes for huge bucks.

EDIT: the comment has garnered some attention so let me clear some things up, when i say bullet spongey i didint use the term correctly. Yes they die from most weapons quickly but that's the only thing they're good for. Should've used meat shields instead. They are just fodder with no redeeming qualities is what i meant.

I'm just going to throw my thoughts on this wall.

The only raid that I have done was LoR. Never even touched the other one, mostly because it was focused on Archwing, and I thought that was a huge mess.

LoR never had me feeling like I was part of a large group of Tenno attacking something. Each stage was just a ability spam fest, with a large amount of visual clutter either from the raid, or the abilities we needed to spam to cover the instagib adds. The scaling of the enemies was stupid, the 'puzzles' were laughably simple, and it just felt. . . wrong.

I know it's probably a pipe dream, but I want raids to make me feel like I'm part of a large group of Space Ninjas attacking a location. Where we go in, do our Space Ninja alpha strike at various locations to overcome local resistance. Where there isn't just one way to 'win' at the raid, where we can take different group compositions and still be able to defeat the raid. No taking Trins, Vabauns, and Novas as the only options. No standing around waiting for someone to call out a shape.

Maybe make us use the extremely deep movement set that only hardcore PvPers use. Watching those guys as a casual PvE player makes me kindof feel like a overweight toddler trying to do Olympic level gymnastics. I'm horribly outclassed, but that's because there's NOTHING in the PvE side of the game that even remotely demands that mastery.

For the love of all that's good, don't make me have to use the Operator. That's a rant for another time and place, and despite the feedback you're getting from the Eidelon boss fights, some people don't want fights centered around Operators.

edit: DE said they're fine with us sharing a summary of the discussion so we'll start working on one as soon as the meeting is finished.

A friend of mine was having difficulty understanding Warframe's lore, so I presented him an abridged MS Paint summary.

A friend of mine was having difficulty understanding Warframe's lore, so I presented him an abrid...

What about the Infested?

He got pretty lost the when me and the other people in our Discord first explained the Technocyte virus, so I focused on the factions with more immediately-recognizable memeshit. So, since they don't really factor into the major conflicts much as major actors pursuing an agenda, I figured they could be summed up as "We're the zombie levels."

O_O... YOU DUN F**KED IT UP!!

well, more like if right after the sentient blasted the orokin with his eye beams, the orokin threw a wad of infested poop at the sentient, but got it all over his own hands and all his stuff, so the sentient was all like "ewwwwwww, that's gross" but the orokin were all shaking their poop hand and like "ewwwwwwwwwww, yuck".

Let's talk about that crappy thing Warframe does with prime unvaulting, with Jim Sterling

Let's talk about that crappy thing Warframe does with prime unvaulting, with Jim Sterling

Expected something more harsh. But actually this is quite a "mild" suggestion considering all the other stuff he could have poked.

There's probably gameplay stuff he could get into, but Sterling generally keeps his focus on industry practices and not on particulars of game design unless one intersects with the other noticeably.

This particular nitpick is probably the harshest flaw I've seen pointed out in Warframe's general approach to monetization, and it's still pretty darned benign by industry standards.

Yeah, I guess he has a point. I would buy Prime cosmetics if I could.

I would buy ONLY Prime cosmetics if I could.

Dev Workshop: Warframes Revisited Part 2

Dev Workshop: Warframes Revisited Part 2(NOTE: This post is a follow-up on a prior Dev Workshop. If you missed out last time, be sure to read up on all the changes here: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/915093-dev-workshop-warframes-revisited/ )

Hail Tenno!

Thanks to everybody who read our previous thread, tuned in for the stream, and left their comments on our proposed Warframe ability changes. After having the weekend to observe player responses and read feedback, we’ve been trying out a few further changes, and wanted to update you guys on our progress!

First of all, the Warframe changes are also coming with a HUGE rebalancing of guns (as can be seen here: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/916505-dev-workshop-weapons-mastery-ranks-and-stats/ ). We expect an exciting release week as players try out the changes, rework their builds, and rediscover old favorites. To help this along, we’ve got some special rewards lined up:

Login within 7 days of the update for an inbox message containing 3 x Forma and a 3 Day Affinity booster! Console player will receive the same inbox message, by logging in when they get the build with aforementioned changes. AFTER Friday's Devstream, ALL platforms will get BONUS Guide of the Lotus alerts this weekend with Orokin Reactors!

So without further ado, let's get to it! How have we iterated since last Dev Workshop? Find out in alphabetical order (again)!:

ASH: Reduced energy cost of Bladestorm ticks. ATLAS: Petrify is now a single cast instead of a channel ability, instantly Petrifying enemies in front of you regardless of level! Rubble now has a singular decay, instead of each piece of rubble having its own set duration. Picking up more rubble delays the decay for a brief time. We may rebalance Ore Gaze for this rework, as players now have significantly more ways to Petrify enemies! BANSHEE: Although still a singular cast allowing free movement, Resonating Quake will only hit enemies once as it expands outward. CHROMA: Can cast other abilities while using Spectral Scream. Spectral Scream damage now affected by Vex Armor damage buff. Vex Armor aura range increased (currently 18 meters base range). Vex Armor can now be recast to preserve accumulated buffs. EMBER: Fireball can now be held and charged for additional damage. Upon impact, Fireball will leave behind a Napalm-like flame that damages enemies. Fire Blast will now add heat damage to weapons that fire through it. GARA: Health gained by Mass Vitrify shown in a UI display. MAG: Increased base energy pool (125 for Mag, 175 for Mag Prime). Crush animations slightly sped up Augment for Polarize reworked - now reads: "Weapons hit by Polarize are jammed for 4 seconds. Robotic enemies hit by Polarize are disabled for 4 seconds." VOLT: No changes at this time. ZEPHYR: Tail Wind now costs half as much energy when cast in the air. Tail Wind does more damage. Changed Dive Bomb augment into a Tail Wind augment - now reads: “Each enemy hit increases Tail Wind damage by 25%. Damage resets upon landing.” Dive Bomb can now fire on slight angles, as long as you’re looking mostly down. (Clarification: holding aim (default RMB) has a greater effect on steering Tornadoes.) As a bonus, two more general changes you'll be happy to hear: Focus Passives now apply immediately upon loading into a mission, rather than requiring the brief Operator transition. When interacting with nullifiers, power-created avatars (Atlas’ Rumblers, Nekros’ Shadows, etc) will have their health drained, instead of instantly disappearing.

Expect these changes to land on PC soon! Thanks everyone!

Vex Armor can now be recast

can now be recast

Recast

LOOKS LIKE GRINEER SCUMBAGS ARE BACK ON THE MENU BOIS
Is that a Mag buff?

Quick check on whats new:

Ash - perfect fix for the increased cost per enemy from the original rework.

Atlas - stack decay being singular means you'll get pretty swole, incentives active gameplay which is always a thumbs up from me.

Banshee - we haven't gotten the chance to play with the new augment, so no idea how this is gonna work.

Chroma - recastable Vex Armor reduces reliance on Duration, Narrow Minded can be dropped in favor of range for buffing!

Ember - not enough changes IMO, needs better CC and survivability.

Gara - QoL improvements always welcomed.

Mag - More energy is never bad. Faster animation + an interesting polarize use.

Zephyr - Decent Tailwind changes, half cost midair plays into her kit super well.

Bonus - nice QoL improvement, super big buff for summons.

tl;dr - good changes all around, except Ember.

Nullifiers should also deplete Inaros 4 armor instead of removing it.

thought you guys might like my crazy kavat lady gif!

Fun fact: When I first played this game, I thought those were goats.

Really? I thought they were hyenas.
