Context: Trump politicizes the NYC terror attack that killed 8 people yesterday to attack Chuck Schumer and the visa lottery policy just 12 HOURS after the tragedy. Just a month ago, after the Las Vegas shooting, the White House said that it's not time to politicize and discuss policy (gun control) in the wake of THAT tragedy.
It's okay to politicize when it's a terror attack by a Muslim immigrant (to push the anti-immigrant agenda), but not okay when it's a white American man (to discuss gun control). And this, coming from a man with a wife who is an IMMIGRANT to this country herself - what "merit" did she have other than the ability to pose for half naked photos? Hypocrisy at its finest.
It should ALSO be corrected that this coward (the attacker) was radicalized DOMESTICALLY, and wasn't a "...terrorist came in to our country..." as trump falsely claims/lies. But to trump, every brown immigrant is a terrorist or a criminal, unless proven otherwise. Pathetic.
According to the Washington Post (and other reputable news agencies (clearly not Breitbart), it was signed into law by Republican George HW Bush: "...The program did originate in part in a bill introduced in 1990 by Schumer, who was then a member of the House. He proposed making a set numbers of visas available each year to “diversity immigrants” from “low-admission” countries.
Schumer’s measure was absorbed into a broader House immigration bill, which was sponsored by Schumer and 31 others, including several Republicans. The legislation passed in a bipartisan vote of 231-192. The Senate version, which contained the “diversity immigrants” provision, passed in an overwhelming 89-8 vote and was signed into law by President George H.W. Bush at the end of 1990."
What are facts when you are the far right, or Republicans, for that matter? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/11/01/extreme-right-gins-up-a-culprit-for...
He was silent after the nazis killed that patriot also.
Chuck Schumer sponsored a bill in the house later as the gang of 8 that would have eliminated the lottery program and increased merit based visas.
This is a really odd tweet seeing as how Steyer has never run for office.
Tim Steyer aired a national ad campaign today directing citizens to sign a petition to force Congress to impeach Trump. Ad space purchased on Fox & Friends to ensure Trump noticed. Which led to the tweet above.
[Add your name to the petition here](www.needtoimpeach.com)
Yes. While it is not uncommon behavior from Trump, I still refuse to normalize it.
So you think it's odd that Trump lies/embellishes in his tweets?
Context: trump defends Bill O’Reilly's vulgar behavior when he was at Fox News. The New York Times reported Saturday that the former anchor paid $32 million to settle a sexual harassment claim a month before Fox News extended his contract earlier this year.
Today it was revealed in an interview that Bill O’Reilly is "Mad at God". "You know, am I mad at God? Yeah, I'm mad at him," O'Reilly said. "I wish I had more protection. I wish this stuff didn't happen. I can't explain it to you. Yeah, I'm mad at him."
When you're in denial of your actions and refuse to take accountability, and you run our of things to blame, sure - why not blame God, too? Cut from the same cloth, trump and bill - never responsible for anything bad that they've done.
Oh, and here's a conservative media outlet that thinks the same. I don't expect much from Fox News (given the relationship), so i'm not gonna even try. http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/452986/its-time-conservatives-banish-bill-oreilly-progressiv...
Gee, Bill, maybe God was just finally getting around to answering the numerous prayers of "I wish Bill O'Reilly would stop sexually harassing me and everyone around him."
It's weird, you'd think this guy would end up on the right side of history on at least one thing out of pure luck... but no. It's like he consciously chooses to be a complete fuck up on everything. Good thing he was born rich or he'd be knocking on my door asking to mow my lawn for cigarette money.
And then wouldn't mow it.
Context: WH said today its "highly inappropriate to go after a 4 star general". (John Kelly) https://twitter.com/christinawilkie/status/921442268321665030
In 2016, trump did exactly that to John Allen in a tweet.
This is the same idiot who said:
"I think – I think, for me, nuclear is just the power, the devastation is very important to me."
“You know what uranium is, right? It’s this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things. But nobody talks about that.”
He goes into further detail:
"Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart —you know, if you're a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it's true!—but when you're a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that's why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it's four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven't figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us."
Who would have thought?
Holy fuck. This is real.
You know, I don't think DJT could qualify for that sub. He doesn't say anything designed to give the impression he's smart, he just tells people he is. It's like a comedian going on stage and insisting that they're funny for 5 excruciating minutes. Except that the stage was the presidency, the comedy routine is Foreign policy and the set lasts for about 2,102,400 minutes.
"I took the test last year, believe me. Scored a perfect 100! Smart!"
this one is truly incredible
This sub has officially peaked.
And I thought this sub had peaked yesterday:
Every damn time. There's one for everything. My god. I can't take it anymore.
context; Trump is at his Bedminster, NJ course this weekend; it's his 16th personal trip in 8 months. If he stays on this pace he'll have taken 72 personal trips in 3 years. Insensitive!Personal Trips (destinations):
Mar a Lago: 7
Who doesn't take 2 taxpayer funded luxury vacations per month?
I cannot get enough of these tweets.
Maybe we’re misunderstanding him here. He probably meant 16 vacations in 3 years isn’t enough.
HOW TO DEAL: By Donald Trump
1) Threaten to walk away from the deal completely unless they give you what you want.
2) Give in and blame someone else.
I honestly wonder if he himself got negotiating 'tips' from his ghostwriter for Art of the Deal.
I can't imagine he has actual tactics that he uses besides aggrandizing and bullying.
The United States currently does not have that President.
"The art of the deal" my ass.
How much of an on the nose hypocrite can you be
It's a very consistent message actually. He's defending racism then and now.
It's crazy how big of a deal this is for Trump compared to the Neo Nazi parades. Unbelievable
Am I missing something? This story just points out a Trump tweet that was already posted/discussed here ≈45 hours ago.
They don't even know what patriotism is ... they just use it as a tool to bludgeon people with.
YOU ARE NOT A PATRIOT.
Sayeth the draft dodger.
Twain criticizing Trump by way of Trump.
I think this tweet could have worked any time during his presidency, but I especially like it now after these recent tweets regarding Stephen Curry.
I never believe it until I click. When will I learn?
How can this be so consistent if not by design? Is Trump a Shakespearean monkey?
Now hold up. I can't think of anything more patriotic than building a real estate empire!
Where are all the (Caucasian) soldiers going to live when they get home?
