Dorothy Stratten (RIP) in 1976.

Getting shot is over simplifying it. She died in a pretty horrific way.

Her ex-boyfriend shot her with a shotgun, beat and raped her after she was dead then tied her to some homemade sex swing then he killed himself. It was days before anyone found the bodies. There was a movie made about it.

Dorothy Stratton, and the movie made about her life was Star 80...

Her boyfriend got her to pose for Playboy then couldn’t handle her fame, and killed her in a very gruesome manner...

Playboy model who got shot, in case I’m not the only one who has no idea who she is.

A time when air travel was glamorous.

People made an effort to dress nicely. Flying was an occasion.

Michael Caine looking like a parody of Michael Caine.

To be fair, the 70s were the height of Caine-ism

This is the most 1970s British photo ever

Back when cars were sturdy

I know! I didn't see this picture until after he died, so I never got to confirm this with him, but I've had multiple car enthusiasts and Google searches tell me that this is a late 60s to early 70s Chevy Impala. It's pretty beast. He actually got me into classic cars pretty young, so this is fried gold to me.

I love this photo and all like them.

After getting back from NYC from a trip this weekend, I realized just how many pictures of one pose or moment was taken or redone because someone didn’t like it. The funny part is: they will never go back and actually look at the picture. Or if they do, it’s just for a perfect post on a 24hr Snapchat to build fake self esteem by proving to others you are having a better time.

Pictures like this were taken with no LCD screen or kept on a phone. Just developed when the reel is finished and the moment remembered, without every aspect judged for anything but its content.

Sorry for the rant.

I love this picture of him. It's so Winchester lol

My parents got married 46 years ago today. Give them some love

Looks like they're about to intercourse each other.

"Kiss her? I am going to destroy her!" - Peter Griffin

Your dad reminds me of the guy that buys Christine in the Stephen King movie Christine.

Also looks like OP may have been born 9 months after this

“You get one picture”

Looks like she’s hesitating to call Ice Cube the top gun.

Guess your mom can say that "was a good day"

Does anybody else think that Ice Cube drank the same youth juice as Phareell Williams and Keanu Reeves.

Richard Lewis and Larry David, 1970s

Richard Lewis and Larry David, 1970s

He wasn't even an Uber 4 back then.

Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good

Wow Lewis aged poorly and David like fine wine.

well, Larry was never an alcoholic and a massive coke head...

Steve Martin is.... Cat Juggling! ..... The Jerk (1979)

Honestly this is one of the best Steve Martin movie is out there! If you’ve never seen it before because it’s old I suggest you give it a shot. I showed it to my wife a few years ago and that we quote it all the time.

That’s not Steve Martin. That cat juggler was played by Pig Eye Jackson.

We must put an end to this inhumane practice!

He hates these cans!

My Great Grand Mother, early 1900’s, an equestrian/acrobat for Barnum & Bailey Circus

My Great Grand Mother, early 1900’s, an equestrian/acrobat for Barnum & Bailey Circus

Most of us wish we'd asked more questions before we ran out of time to do so. It's a great photo and interesting family history.

That is the saddest horse I've ever seen

What an interesting life she must have had. Did she continue to do this "job" for a long time?

Unfortunately I don’t know enough about it. My mother died unexpectedly a couple of years ago and I never asked her the full story about it. She was the last person who knew the full story. Really regret not asking about it and no idea why I didn’t. I took a picture of the photo on my phone the other day - first time the pictures have been digitised.

We have two pictures, one of my great grand mother and one of my great aunt - they were both in the circus, same job.

Edit: Worse, I just asked my father, and he is not sure from the two photos whether this is my great grand mother or great aunt, he can’t remember which is which. So this is a picture of either my great grand mother, or my great aunt, and I will never know which is which sadly.

My dad somewhere up north in the 80s

He looks like he's waiting for Lafawnduh.

Looks like Detroit

Nice rolla

He looks like he's checking to see what's the hold up, but not realising he's sitting behind parked cars.

That's so dad.

Milla Jovovich 1989

Milla Jovovich 1989

I was watching Married with Children, and saw her name in the credits. She was the French foreign exchange student that lived with the Bundy's (lived in the garage, stole all of Kelly's boyfriends.)

On a scale of 1 to 10? Yeah, I could probably agree with you on that

Mul Tee Pass

She is one of two women who have stayed in my top 5 since I made a top 5 list of my most beautiful women.
