Let's do this !!!! #Referee #MMA #K1 #Combatsports

Ha what motivated me was people telling me I couldn't do it and should quit. I knew what I needed to change and fix in order to get the wins under me. I.e. Changing my camp to team Titan where the likes of jason young, brad Pickett and Ashleigh grimshaw were training at the time.

I assume you're the fighter under the same name?

All due respect, what motivated you to stick with the sport after a 0-7 start before putting things together and stringing together a 4-2 run with a win over Joe Stephenson to end your career?

That a referee can deduct 2 points if needed

Never. People need to remember ALL judges are making a decision and basing there points on what they are seeing from where they are sitting, they don't have the luxury of watching back reply and different camera angles as you may get on TV.

Keep going man follow that dream

...how do you love watching a sport that you think nobody should compete in?

Good job thank you for being part of a sport where you put your health and body on the line for my entertainment.

Don’t fall into the trap of falling in love with your striking as we see so many high level wrestlers do in the UFC. Stick to your base and let your strengths shine and nullify your opponents advantages. Good luck out there.

Mickey Gall admits he hurt John Makdessi while sparring: ‘I felt awful about it’

“I felt awful about it,” Gall wrote. “I should have done a better job protecting him. It was my fault. But sh-t happens it ain't checkers. I never want to hurt someone in the gym. Especially TriStar, a gym I have a lot of respect for. And though I train there a lot and love the guys, it's not my home gym — I'm a visitor, and that's not a good look.”

Good on him for owning up to it right away, instead of making excuses

Lyoto Machida knocks out Ryan Bader with a clean right straight

Lyoto Machida knocks out Ryan Bader with a clean right straight

Rushing in like that on The Dragon is probably the worst thing a fighter could do

I always appreciate how restrained Lyoto is about striking defenseless opponents.

Yes, a classic karate counter used by Machida throughout his long career was innovated by a mixed martial artist in the 2010s.

/u/buzznights can you do anything about this dingus /u/ultimato-pr4nks? He's been trolling about McGregor for a while now.

Well, hopefully that means Machida can snipe Brunson with relative ease.

Eleven years since the day Anderson Silva gave Rich Franklin a muay thai seminar

Eleven years since the day Anderson Silva gave Rich Franklin a muay thai seminar

I think Franklin is largely known by a lot of people as "first slow white boy Anderson crushed during his reign", but the truth is that he was a badass. at the time he was 22-1 with two successful defenses under his belt and his only defeat being at the hands of Machida(!)

This result was pretty shocking for a lot of people, and many thought before the fight that it would actually be a mistake for Silva to try and clinch him.

I think even Rich thought that.

That look Franklin has when they separate and he leans against the cage, and just looks bewildered. That must be such a horrible feeling. To his credit, he regained his guard and tried to throw some haymakers.

Franklin was a class act, dont remember which one of the fights (both were pretty similar clinics by Silva by the way!), first or second, but one of them was pro Franklin crowd (maybe his hometown?) and they booed Silva after his win. I remember Franklin asking them to please not boo him. Thought it was great

I might remember the whole thing wrong though

[Image/GIF] The last time Colby Covington fought a submission specialist

So I don't know if you guys heard but this Damian Maia guy is pretty gosh darn good at Jui-Jitsu

All I want for Christmas is Damian tucking Colby to sleep in the first round

Can we also focus on the guy who did this to him?

Warlley deserves that credit, he's fighting this weekend. Watch out for another slick submission.

That certainly didn't humble him in the slightest.

Lost by decision

Lost by decision

I lost by decision. Judges didnt release the scores, but I'm confident that I won the third round, but lost round 1 and 2. I feel great, and am looking forward to my next fight, which I plan on being my professional mma debut!

Edit: my elbow is bruised from where I repeatedly elbowed her in the face, though.

Thank You! If youre healthy and want to fight, I bet you're braver and tougher than you think you are. To paraphrase Kamina from Gurren Lagann, "don't believe in yourself, believe in the you that I believe in!"

Please announce Khabib vs Edson.

Khabib catches a kick and mauls him IMO, and I love Barboza.

Mousasi in studio

There are almost never fight announcements on the mma hour. I hiiiiighly doubt khabib announces a fight. He’ll just say he wants to fight December 30th

DC in a mini-documentary about life after fighting!

DC in a mini-documentary about life after fighting!

This is my first crack at making a documentary, this one's about former UFC contender Tyson Griffin, although DC was super cool and agreed to be part of it! I'm still trying to figure out how to get this piece out there, so you guys at /sub/mma are basically getting the first peek at it. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Oh shit, you made this yourself? It's great, congrats!

How many times did you get lost in Josh Thomson's eyes?

Yeah, I basically did everything myself from the writing to the shooting and editing. I learned that it was definitely not the best way to approach making a film though. There were many times I could have used some help recording sound and other things.

Josh's eyes were actually bloodshot during the interview so I couldn't see them well. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets lifted after training, I know I would.

That was amazing. Still pretty fresh to the mma scene so thanks for introducing me to a fighter I had never heard of
