Well his dad had Alzheimer's and he's getting up there in age, he'll be like Reagan's second term but on steroids
During the election I kept thinking, "maybe he's just playing to the crowds to win but deep deep deep down he's actually not this much of a illiterate monster." Now we're couple months in and it's definitely 100% confirmed: nope this is all there is to him and in fact it's worse than we thought.
One of my grandmothers has dementia, so she has many of the same cognitive issues as Alzheimer's patients. Yesterday, when I stopped by to check on her, I discovered she had put a wet dishrag in her underwear drawer, put brown sugar in her glasses case, and had taken all the knobs off the stove and put them in her clothespin basket in the garage.
Three years ago, she was manifesting no symptoms of dementia. So if Trump goes downhill at the rate she's gone, our country is in serious trouble.
I'm still amazed by how many people during the election would say to me "he's a really smart guy," basically parroting Trump's own claim about himself, that he's a really smart guy.
They say the difference between people who can and can't be hypnotized is how susceptible they are to suggestion. Naivety and a desire for a parental authority figure. That's how I explain Trump voters. Some people simply confuse arrogance with confidence when it's really insecurity.
Is he insane? Not only do you give the Russians the source of the intel, you then confirm the intel, on national television, IN FRONT OF THE PRIME MINISTER OF ISRAEL? Look at how dumbfounded Netanyahu is.
Edit: Not just national television, international television, as /u/dHumanb pointed out below.
Yes, he is insane, as in extremely mentally ill. His father died of Alzheimer's. It is statistically highly probably he is suffering from it as well, and all signs point towards that.
Another explanation is prolonged drug abuse. He checks all the boxes for symptoms of decades of cocaine abuse.
To the IC Community, the FBI, Grand Juries, and Mueller (sp?); Please. Hurry.
How do we know he's not just really dumb?
From what I understand trump bashed Obama for following tradition, bashed Michelle for not following tradition, and then proceeded to go and do all the things he said he would never do. The main reason they were there was to close that arms deal, you know creating jobs for Americans by building weapons that will somehow end up in the hands of Islamic extremists. I bet you this is all part of the 30 day ISIS plan.
Seems pretty standard trump for me.
...but at least he didn't shit his pants and fling feces during his speech again, right guys?
It's useful to point out Trump's (and Republican) outrageous hypocrisy regarding presidential conduct abroad. Some bits of this article go beyond that though, and practice the same kind of bullshit scaremongering that the right is justly criticized for. Participating in the local welcome/customs is normal and shouldn't be criticized - calling this a "sinister all-male dance" is pretty silly and it discredits people on the left who criticize Republicans that think Obama shouldn't bow, or presidents shouldn't wear local clothes, or whatever.
Honestly, I think if you travel you should respect the local cultural norms and traditions. I don't think anyone should be judged for doing what is polite in these situations. However, you can judge Trump as a hypocrite because he explicitly denounced many of the things he claimed he would never do, yet keeps ending up doing.
The thing is, the voters were warned, and yet enough of them voted to flush America down the golden shitter nonetheless.
It's an indictment of our education system that has persistently devalued critical thinking since the Reagan Error.
It's partly about education, of course... ..but it's mostly about the Republican Party.
They have discovered that they can lever themselves up from a minority party--they are and will be always a minority of American voters--into a ruling party by motivating their supporters. How do you motivate supporters? Hate.
Republican voters hate "liberals"--because they are spoon-fed hate by their leaders, by Fox, by their radios, etc. Hate is the most effective motivator in the world.
As long as the Republican party can keep the hate going, then they will continue to win elections.
It's the flaw of democracy, that the Greeks figured out way back when, and the fascists and Nazis perfected using modern techniques.
(both fascists and Nazis were small minority parties... who levered themselves into power using the motivation provided by cultivating hatred towards internal enemies.)
Considering all the scandals, you would expect more than 46% of the population to want him put under trial. But it seems the rhetoric of bringing back outsourced jobs, jobs lost to immigrants, and recreating fossil fuel jobs is enough for a large chunk of the rural population to forgive all other crimes. Even if it is conniving with Russia, molesting women or filling his own pockets.
Everybody make another donation to planned parenthood in his name and we'll just track the smoke from pence burning all the thank you letters.
Does anyone else feel like this is going to be a slow burn pyre with Trump on top? They are going to prove and prosecute dozens of people below him and that fire will slowly eat Trump and the presidency. So when he finally falls there will be almost no one left. People say, if you impeach Trump you get Pence but I am starting to think we are going to get Hatch instead.
Alternatively, nothing will come of any of this but side show for another 3 years and then we will vote him out. He is obviously not re-electable.
Well, lets be honest: how can the white menace outshine the orange?
I mean, sure pence hates gay people and mothers without white husbands, but he wants softly and carries a big hate.
Contrast his white male dominion with the type of chaos that the orange menace brings.
Also, all pence has to do is try to claim his shit doesn't stink, and cross his fingers for another run by clinton to get more time in his power trip.
Remember: when he was requested to VP, almost everything we know about the orange menace now was the same thing, except it wasn't as serious because the menace wasn't yet born. Pence didn't abort at that moment when it was clear others did.
So he's clearly pro-life.
He is obviously not re-electable
You underestimate the power of how poorly Americans absorb and process facts. What's going to happen is this. They'll find him guilty of colluding with Russia. Spineless Republican politicians won't do anything about it. Left-wing media will continue preaching to the choir. Trump's supporters will find some way to rationalize and spin what Donald Trump did. The Democrats will nominate another un-likable candidate, 4 more years of Trump. This is our society everyone.
What a wuss.
That might have involved stairs.
Yeah, but that "alpha" cuck believes the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted. The only hiking he does is to his pants.
cant deplete that finite energy every human is born with according to him
Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) on Wednesday said reports that President Trump pressed ousted FBI Director James Comey to end an investigation would merit impeachment if true, becoming the first Republican lawmaker to broach the idea.
So, he's "open" to the idea. Big whup. Until they say they will vote against the party line, its all bluster.
Also, autoplay video warning.
He was also strongly against AHCA, but quickly made the difficult decision to vote for it.
His bravery is unmatched.
How big of him.
Republicans get no excuse on this until he's out on his ass.
All talk from them is worthless unless that happens.
Oh come on! He knows more about ISIS than the generals! His big brain said so. Or is it his big mouth?
So he spews out code-word level intelligence that he doesn't understand and didn't know/care where it came from or who might be put in danger, to an adversary. And somehow, we're supposed to be comforted by that? Shut the fuck up McMaster. Or don't. Keep digging the hole.
So they're saying it's ok because he's a fucking idiot?
He will defeat ISIS in THIRTY DAYS!
"We certainly don't want any president to leak classified information but the president does have the right to do that." --John McCain on this story.
Positive spin - we know that aliens don't exist because Trump would've revealed that secret by now.
Paul Ryan's tweet about Hillary's emails. Now, will he say the same thing about Trump?
Paul Ryan's tweet for anyone who doesn't want to click the link: "It's simple: Individuals who are ‘extremely careless’ w/ classified info should be denied further access to it."
Lol "The Maverick"
Such a joke...
Furthermore, Trump told Holt that he had been thinking of "this Russia thing with Trump" when he arrived at his decision to remove the FBI director.
“In fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said, ‘You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should have won,'" Trump said.
There you have it folks. After days of excuses, the truth finally comes out. This man is dangerous. He is so off the fucking wall that he doesn't even trust his own people to keep up with his "12D chess", aka lies.
The disturbing thing about this narrative is that is a growing trend.
"You can't expect the health bill to be perfect"
"My staff isn't perfect"
"Your standards are too high and it isn't fair"
Basically he's trying to say that people criticizing the incompetence of him and his staff are being unreasonable in expecting perfection. So he's trying to make the press into the bad guys here.
In reality, all Trump's critics want is someone who can demonstrate basic competence and won't take the condescending tone of an arrogant jackass while telling ridiculous and easily debunked lies.
He admits that he should have lost the election?! Was that just some sort of slip of the tongue? Even our President admits he shouldn't be President!
Trump just verified that his speakers are lying at the podium. Why don't we ever see Trump stepping up to the podium taking questions like past presidents have?
