07/Dec/2017 /r/Bitcoin reaches 500,000 subscribers

hold your horses boys and girls, don't be surprised if it drops down to 200-300k subscribers over night.

Everyone remember to unsubscribe high and re-sub on the dip!

This is also a great time to thank all the mods here for doing what you can to keep this place readable and usable. I know it's a constant uphill battle, and you guys get a lot of undeserved shit in my opinion.

So thank you, mods of /sub/bitcoin!

Hey it’s me the 500th subscriber

If bitcoin hits 25k by the end of December, I will get a tattoo of the bitcoin symbol.

I was one of them at $19,000 :-)

My theory ... today’s experiment was a baseline measurement on how much ability one whale has to move the market. Now they have some idea of where they need to set the limits to work the futures.

Its time for correction dont be in denial

Looks correct. The reasonable thing to do imho.

Seems like Coinbase must have the same issue.

It's back. It was for about 2-3 hours time (of course during the busy little correction) but nonetheless it is back now.

I always prefer to buy on Gemini as it's sometimes upwards of 2-3k cheaper. When I sell, it's on GDAX.

Coinbase says bitcoin sales are temporarily disabled

Thats why it stuck @ 16,299$

not convinced that isn't just an excuse.

19.3 down to 15.9 in 30 minutes. HOLY SHIT! Kind of glad they disable Coinbase when these things happen!

Once these markets get back up this is going to shoot past $20k+...

Ironically the video didn’t load for me

It took about that long too. 19250 all time high was the peak of that ride :)

The mods blocked everybody from posting shit about price and you found your way, huh?

I also experienced that!

"Effective last night all banks in Bulgaria blocked the accounts of companies whose business is related to the sale of Bitcoin. Transfers to international Bitcoin exchanges are banned by the banks." - this is not because of some law, this seems like an illegal cartel between banks

Underground it goes. You can’t ban something that only exist on the internet. 🙄

In Bulgaria there are several companies which buy and sell Bitcoin to customers. Their services are very user friendly and they mostly don't give a shit about the AML/KYC security theater (no ID card scans, no address verification, etc.).

Their bank accounts were frozen without explanation.

Also, according to the rumors, banks are blocking payments from/to known crypto exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp etc.

This is not because of some new law, the reason for this is unknown. According to the conspiracy theorists, bankers are very afraid of the Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and this is desperate attempt to reverse the crypto revolution.

Here is the (probably incomplete) list of Bulgarian cryptocurrency exchangers:

bitcoinshouse.com cix.bg coinfixer.com cryptobank.bg crypto.bg rgcoins.com

All the more reason to take Bitcoin - and personal financial sovereignty - seriously.

If notice, most of the FUD comes from banking/traditional investment firms.

You can literally smell the fear coming from these people. It's quite hilarious. I'm smiling ear to ear knowing you can't stop this train. BTC may not survive, but crypto in general will take over.

It's a good time to be alive. Seeing wealth distribution right in front of my eyes is very, very satisfying.

Not really surprised. With swings of 50% in one day my god that's dangerous for any investor

Time for a dip I guess.

There already was a pair of failed futures in some euro market a few months ago, that hit stoplosses and were halted.

I hope everyone is wearing brown pants today!
