Before she read the Thrones scripts, she and her mother “cracked open a bottle of wine and made predictions about how it was going to end. And neither of us was right.”

Was either of them close? “No. I don’t know if it’s gonna surprise people, but it’s just different to what you think it’s gonna be.” Word is that HBO is thinking of making each episode in the last season feature-length. That would be “amazing”, Williams says. “Milk it for all it’s worth, why don’t you!”

She can’t say much more. If she did she’d suffer a fate worse than Arya’s victims, who have, variously, been stabbed in their eyes, had their throats cut and been fed to their father in a pie. Can she answer one thing: does Arya have any hope of a normal life, after her father, mother and two of her brothers were slain horribly at the hands of Westeros’s villains? “For a lot of the previous season (7) her emotions were very cut off, she just didn’t want to hear what her family had been through,” Williams says. “I hope in the new season I get a chance to bring back a bit more of that fun child that we all fell in love with.”

If she has read the scripts then surely Williams knows whether there’s a chance of this happening.

Jon/Arya reunion!!!! Stick them with the pointy end! Hair mussing!

I've been waiting to hear something like this from Maisie and I'm glad she wasn't instantly dismissive, that's encouraging 😊

I love that she thinks of Arya as many fans do because this is something I see a lot of people hoping for. The S7 SL seemed to create a disconnect with Arya for some. S8 might turn that around 🤞

I think a reunion with Jon will do Arya some good. If anyone can bring back the fun child from season 1, he can because he was closest to her out of her siblings.

I’m interested in Maisie’s comment about the end of the show. Sounds like it’s going to be full of surprises.

Little tease from the show tonight:

GNShow: Williams said of the final Game Of Thrones series, to air next year: “We’re still making it. It is so much fun now there is only a small group of us left.”

WHAT.

She did a press junket yesterday with other media hinting at more GoT related content. And you know Graham Norton is gonna try and get some juicy details in the interview tonight!

But speaking of her expectations being completely off to what the script said... that's interesting. ;)

If Maisie didn’t get the ending right and she’s been involved with GOT since it first started then it tells me that the majority of predictions out there are probably wrong too. The most exciting thing about it for me is it makes the ending more of a mystery and it also means the audience are likely to be surprised by the ending, which is either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your expectations.

Jon & Dany sitting on the Throne ? Nah, that’s what most people want, not what they think will happen. It sounds too happy for GoT to most.

At least she is not over supportive with her character like some other actors no matter what their character does on the show/books.

Hmm interesting that you should put it that way...

‘Stick then with the point end’ indeed...

Different. I like it. Most people I’ve spoken to expect a slaughter and an over the top, dramatic ending. In my mind we’ve had plenty of drama. I am intrigued 🙊

Jesus should we be scared
