The 6 foot by 4 foot window was opened by the cleaner, had no window guards, weren't code at time for older buildings.

I had no idea that's how it happened.

The difference between coke and a baby is clapton would never let a bag of coke fall out the window.

The classic rumor I was always told while growing up was that Clapton was just in another room railing lines of coke with friends while it happened. Plausible imo.

Nobody said Eric opened the window.

From what I read he was running and couldn't stop and just flew right out the window. Eric got home a couple hours later to bring his son to a circus and the son's mother who was in the other room at the time just said "he's dead" to Eric.

I remember this rumor as well.

It's true and extremely sad.

sounds fishy
