This little weirdo stole my heart at a dog rescue place.

Remember, no bright lights, don't get him wet, and never feed him after midnight - no matter how much he begs.

He has a brother that's already been adopted. They both have similar hair. They initially thought it was mange when they were first rescued so they were fully treated for that. But now that it's been a few weeks and the hair hans't grown back they're starting to suspect that he's a mix of a bulldog and a chinese crested, which is a almost completely hairless breed.

Beyond his appearance, he seems very happy and healthy! The rescue place has him out in the open with all the other dogs so they seem to think so as well.

Don't you think the post is a little misleading then?

I am not sure... I'm still gonna ask. Is Luke sick? I know nothing about dogs, sorry for my ignorance. I just see him and his skin... I am not sure if that's normal. Isit a racial thing? The lack of hair and the diuscoloration?

I was under the impression the little guy was adopted by the title. :(

I would love if flair could be added to this post saying something like "adoptable in (location)"

He looks so sweet. Shame he isn't with his brother anymore.

Super nice of your mom to put a doggo up her snatch for you.

Gizmo!

Your comment is extremely condescending. She said she fell in love with the dog and posted it on Reddit, which to me implies that she took the dog home.

This feels more like playing the hero without actually doing anything.

Edit: if you browse the comments it's clear that many users are under the impression that OP adopted the dog. These people would certainly say the title is misleading.

My MIL had a Chinese crested mix that was a weirdo too. His name was Gizmo. He passed last year but was at least 15+ (we didn't know his age) he was an odd little fellow but quite endearing.

Nope :,( Last week they were both there snuggled into a perfect circle. This week there was only the one. Poor guy probably misses his brother.

That's actually a really fitting name for this little guy. It's better than Mogwai.

What's great is that the more upvotes this gets the more unpleasant people show up. I'm sure you know more than the trained professionals that work close-up with this dog on a daily basis. I cannot give you a full medical history for this dog as I got all the info I have on him during 3 minutes of small talk at a hectic dog rescue place.

Yeah I told OP this already but they don't seem to agree with the misleading title. It would be better if there were shelter information so someone could actually fall in love with the dog and take it home.

RIP Gizmo

Seems unlikely. Dogs have a natural tendency to find happiness no matter the situation. A trait that I deeply admire. Scratch behind his ear and he will have +10 happiness.

Source: had a doggos ever sense I was a fetus.

Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate it! I was really curious! hugs

He reminds me of the little bat from a neverending story.

Wow they don't agree? That's all I thought, then I saw the comments.

"Stole my heart" made it sound like they ended up adopting them.

Oh well I hope he gets a good home

It was a reference to the 1984 film "Gremlins".

She said she fell in love with the dog

I agree.

"This little weirdo stole my heart..." that phrase absolutely implies that OP took the dog home.

As it is, a more appropriate title would be, "Look at this adorable derp I ran into at my local animal shelter!'

Having said that...OP has been pretty upfront about the dogs situation in the comments, so that leads me to think that we may just be deconstructing the title a bit too much.

Here are some more, I forgot that I had some of him and his bro!

Is this at Bark n Bitches? I think I met this little weirdo the other week! He was so cute!

They think he's a Chinese Crested/Bulldog mix. He's THE sweetest.

He's available in the LA area, if anybody is interested let me know and I'll put you in contact with the rescue!

Luckily he's at the best rescue place in LA! 100% no-kill, run by great people, he's in good hands! Only a matter of time until his sweet little face gets swooped up.

Did you adopt him then or just take his pic while visiting?

I think they were replying to you to call you out on your misleading post?

Edit: would just like everyone to know that OP is now sending me angry PMs. JS.

But if you think about it, it's ALWAYS going to be after midnight...

What did you name him?

They are certainly their own breed of cute

Lol at the idea of someone taking that comment seriously

"That's not a doggo"

You looking for a home for your husband?

Is that master splinter?

Yep!

Yep. He was an interesting little fellow. Had a good long life.

Aww these little guys need a forever Human or Family. I bet they would be little love bugs and the best cuddle buddies ever

Didn't they get adopted together?

I unfortunately have my hands full with my own little monster. I don't even know why I go to rescue places and do this to myself.

His name is Luke!
