I thought this was a screenshot from GTA V for a second

Nice shot!

This is the backside itself, where the cables are

Nice shot!

For what it's worth, I much prefer the view from Cloud's Rest. Half Dome was alright too, more of a challenge to beat than a destination IMO.

To date the most beautiful view I've ever had was on the sub-dome. I didn't do the cables cause I'm afraid of heights (yes I realize that at that point it's basically negligible difference). Hoping that Mt. St. Helens has an even better view, cause I'll be there in about a week.

It felt amazing to be on top of that massive rock; it was like being on top of the world. One really cool aspect of it was the falcons that lived there. I could hear them whistling down the cliffside as they dove. It was awesome.

Those are great. I posted another of Half Dome yesterday:

I'll be climbing Whitney before Half Dome, then hope to do more 14k peaks.

For whatever reason it does look like CG.

You paint a beautiful picture.

I'd assume that's due to heavy post-processing. I'm guessing brightening the shadows, making the highlights darker, increased clarity, editing colours and perhaps som sharpening. I'm not an expert or anything, but that's what it looks like to me. All of those "flattens" the lighting in the image and makes it look unreal, almost like in a game.

Edit: Not to discredit the photographer, though, this is a beautiful shot by all means. Editing is an art just like taking the actual picture. It really does look fantastic, OP.

It looks like a monkey
