Any meaningful resistance to the surveillance state is welcome. The Patriot Act was passed 99-1. Russ Feingold held out and denounced it.

Here’s the letter from the 4 opposing Senators. It was released from the office of Rand Paul, and includes signatures rom Ron Wyden, Michael S. Lee, and Patrick Leary:

That is an odd combination of senators. Wyden and Rand Paul? On the same page!?

I don't see what the big deal is with this particular legislation. I am sure it could be improved, but if has proven to be beneficial in safe guarding U.S citizens as well as citizens of our allies then we should continue to have it in the tool box.
