Wow, all these leaks in such a short period of time, it's almost as th though somebody pissed off the FBI.

But who would be stupid enough to piss off the FBI!?

Goddamn, the tiny hands on that fella, right?

"Investigators for special counsel Robert S. Mueller III and several congressional committees are scrutinizing those contacts as part of their examinations into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 campaign."

Mueller comin' yo

“It will be the top news in Russia,” Konstantin Sidorkov, who serves as VK’s director of partnership marketing, wrote on Nov. 5, 2016.

Why in the hell does a candidate for US President care about how popular this would be in Russia?

I mean that seriously. What the hell?

Another night, another Russian for Trump.

Color me red.

This picture becomes more clear with each passing day. Cambridge Analytica, Operation Camel, Jared Kushner, Don Jr. It all is coming into focus. Slowly for many of us.

I am sure that Mueller has had this in crystal clear HD 16k for quite some time. I cannot wait to see what he reveals. This is the changing of the world and likely a new definition of warfare. The USA was not prepared. This time. We need to be ahead of the curve next time and prepared to act on it, electronically, militarily, whatever it takes.

Before the 2018 elections.

This is a Brave New World indeed.

I hope we're up to it and ready to fight the fight.

The executive at Vkontakte, or VK, Russia’s equivalent to Facebook, emailed Donald Trump Jr. and social media director Dan Scavino in January and again in November of last year, offering to help promote Trump’s campaign to its nearly 100 million users, according to people familiar with the messages.

So Trump Jr was in contact about Russians helping in Early 2016. Long before the Trump Tower meeting.

1, 2 ... Mueller's coming for you ...

3, 4 ... can't collude anymore ...

5, 6 ... can't be saved by tricks ...

7, 8 ... you'll make prison great ...

9, 10 ... never gonna get out again.

Seriously, it's obvious that the FBI had known of these things happening for quite some time. The Trump's thinking they could get away with this really just shows their arrogance and idiocy

I have literally no fuckin' clue what is going through that man's greasy little head.

It's like the new paradox of Hanlon's razor:

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

But that never accounted for those impossibly rare situations when an individual is equally malicious and stupid.

Like the NFL thing: Does he really not get how unpopular his opinion is (stupid) or does he know and not care (malicious)? I think a strong argument could be made for either, and I would also point out that as unbelievable as it may seem now, Donald Trump has been an asshole longer than he's been an idiot. If one goes back and looks at old tapes of him it's pretty damn obvious that he's a huge fuckin' asshole, but he does an okay job holding his own in conversation.

Can arrogance and idiocy be mutually exclusive some of the time?

So what we're hearing is illegal foreign donation, yeah?

Does anyone else suspect that the dropping of these emails is exquisitely timed to contradict something Don Jr. told the House Intelligence Committee yesterday?

Trump has enjoyed his actions being portrayed as "goofy/ignorant/mental" but actively malicious is something a lot of people can't still wrap their heads around.

His track record should have disqualified him from holding any sort of public office in the country, but unfortunately, all the checks and balances have shown to have bounced due to moral and ethical insufficiencies.

You better watch out

You better not run

You better take the plea deal, criminal scum

Robert Mueller's coming...to toooooooooown!

"Please join great social network called Collusion Book."

I cannot wait to see what he reveals.

Blanket pardons, no jail time. This is my greatest fear, and as Preet says, also a rational one.

Wut

He knows when you been tweeting

He knows when news is fake

He knows that you have been bad and worse

So just resign for goodness sake

Pick up a newspaper some time kid. You just sound really ignorant. If you want to pretend Obama didn't restore a large portion of our international reptutation you just look like a delusional wacko too bitter to admit black people are just people. I mean there are literally thousands of articles from dozens of countires still available with a simple search and here you are, playing dumb.

Problem with acting dumb is people just assume you are dumb.

checks and balances have shown to have bounced due to moral and ethical inefficiencies.

Well, that, and the historically unprecedented propaganda operation that is the right wing media empire.

Like don't get me wrong, there are a lot of assholes out there, most of the polling I've seen suggests that upwards of 60% of Trump supporters have some dumbass racist belief or another. ...but then there's that other 40-ish percent that aren't sexists or racists or assholes, and that part freaks me out too.

To be honest, the election results were a gut punch to me. I thought Clinton was going to win in a landslide, because like you said, who would vote for an asshole like Trump? It took a fuckton of reading for me to "get my head around it."

It's was like reading "62 million Americans take to the street in protest of vaccinations, stand in line to get injections of live flu virus instead."

WTF!?

Also, and off topic, your name stands out as one of the few that I recognize from around reddit, you've always got interesting and uniquely informed opinions. I need to make an effort to seek more of them out. Keep doing what you're doing!

Let me preface this by saying I share the same fears as you and I hope we're both wrong. The one thing that's keeping me sane is faith in the members of Special Counsel Mueller's investigation. They are the best lawyers in their respective fields.

The President cannot pardon state crimes, there is a reason as to why Manafort/Gates weren't charged with every financial law that they broke, the theory is that if they are pardoned they can still be charged for committing state crimes.

I'm also going to take an educated guess and put my finger on Michael Dreeben as a key individual advising Special Counsel Mueller's investigation and having state AGs go after individuals.

Dreeben may find the appropriate response to pardons. Michael Dreeben is 1 of only 2 lawyers that have more than 100 supreme court cases of experience. He can be described as the best criminal law attorney in the country, known for his encyclopedic knowledge of the law.

Bloomberg - Mueller Tasks an Adviser With Getting Ahead of Pre-Emptive Pardons

Mueller’s all-star team of prosecutors, with expertise in money laundering and foreign bribery, has an answer to that. He’s Michael Dreeben, a bookish career government lawyer with more than 100 Supreme Court appearances under his belt.

Acting as Mueller’s top legal counsel, Dreeben has been researching past pardons and determining what, if any, limits exist, according to a person familiar with the matter. Dreeben’s broader brief is to make sure the special counsel’s prosecutorial moves are legally airtight. That could include anything from strategizing on novel interpretations of criminal law to making sure the recent search warrant on ex-campaign adviser Paul Manafort’s home would stand up to an appeal.

"He’s seen every criminal case of any consequence in the last 20 years," said Kathryn Ruemmler of Latham & Watkins LLP, who served as White House counsel under President Barack Obama. "If you wanted to do a no-knock warrant, he’d be a great guy to consult with to determine if you were exposing yourself.”

I mean yeah, this sounds like an in-kind gift from a foreign company to help a candidate.

Doubt VK offered to help Hillary.

Once again, even in a vacuum with no other info on Russia, this would be a stand-alone huge scandal. Just a foreign social media company reaching out to offer free services to Trump, on it's own, is huge.

Who the hell cares about how big his inauguration crowd is?

Beginning of the article:

An executive at a leading Russian social media company made several overtures to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016 — including days before the November election — urging the candidate to create a page on the website to appeal to Russian Americans and Russians.

“It will be the top news in Russia,” Konstantin Sidorkov, who serves as VK’s director of partnership marketing, wrote on Nov. 5, 2016.

While Scavino expressed interest in learning more at one point, it is unclear whether the campaign pursued the idea. An attorney for Trump Jr. said his client forwarded a pitch about the concept to Scavino early in the year and could not recall any further discussion about it.

Scavino did not respond to requests for comment. A White House spokeswoman declined to comment.

The emails, which were read to The Washington Post and confirmed by people with knowledge of their contents, show a new point of direct contact between an influential Russian and advisers to Trump during the 2016 race. Investigators for special counsel Robert S. Mueller III and several congressional committees are scrutinizing those contacts as part of their examinations into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 campaign.

During the time that VK was contacting the Trump operation, Russia was engaged in an influence campaign through social media to bolster Trump, U.S. intelligence officials have said.

VK representatives and Sidorkov did not respond to requests for comment.

"It didn't happen"

"It happened, but we didn't know about it"

"Yes we did it, so what?" <--so we're here now

"You deserved it, America, you gullible turds"

No, it was more like, "Vote for Obama because Republicans lied us into two disastrous wars and wrecked the entire economy. Plus Palin is a moron."

The fact that Obama did a great job restoring America's reputation after Bush ruined our credibility with lies and torture was just a side benefit.

“Please feel free to send me whatever you have,” Scavino wrote to Goldstone on Jan. 19. “Thank you so much for looking out for Mr. Trump and his presidential campaign.”

They sounded interested to me.

So many new accounts popping up to deflect about the Russia Trump scandal. Worried about something?

Why in the hell does a candidate for US President care about how popular this would be in Russia?

He shouldn't, but Russia certainly does. This sounds like another Quid in the Quid Pro Quo. Trump creates a Russia social media account where he repeats and parrots both Russian talking points and pro-kremlin stances. The social media company can promote and inflate that rhetoric and make it seems more popular at home, thus helping Putin's, not Trump's, image as a strong leader that Americans will respect.

And in return, Russia helps Trump.

Edit: and actually there would be a little Pro Quo here in that Trump could point to his "popularity" in Russia as evidence that he would be a more popular leader on the world stage. Remember that a big part of 2016 was Trump repeatedly telling us that Hillary would start WWIII. He could have said "I'm so popular in Russia they would never want a war with me" or something.

She paid a us based company that paid him.

If her campaign was under fbi investigation for colluding with them.. probably ha

They were so not interested that they set up multiple secret meetings with Russian agents both at home and overseas, involving multiple members of the campaign, and then never disclosed any of them, and then repeatedly lied about them when they finally came to light, and are now being investigated and offering extremely flimsy explanations for all of that.

They flew to the Seychelles to talk about covert back-channel communications between the two parties. They had enthusiastic meetings in their father's office tower about collaborating to bring down the opposing candidate - and they loved it, especially later in the summer. They set up quid-pro-quo deals about sanction relief and then texted their handlers about it during the inaugural address. They met at hotels, dinners, NRA conventions, in Paris. They enthusiastically collaborated with an amoral leak agency that this administration's own CIA director admits is a Russian intelligence operation. They have been indicted and charged.

Stop.

End of the day they are an ally, he wasnt connected to the government, none of the information he got was hacked.. so "collusion" isnt really something thats possible here

chooo chooo!!

Cambridge Analytica is the key to all of this...Mark my words.
