"Pranksters"use an air horn to prank a McDonald's worker, proper justice follows [r/instantregret]

I am glad this was placed on imgur rather than youtube. This guy does not deserve any ad revenue.

The girl was smooth as fuck.

She threw the card so he'd be using his hands to catch that instead of blocking the drink, which wouldn't have even worked since she gave it a little spin so it'd start spilling before even hitting him. Flawless execution.

Yea I'm so tired of prank channels on Youtube

The guys in the original video refer to themselves as "Ripped Robbie" and "Elegant Elliott".

But mattylaak, how could they possibly be cunts?

Especially after he threw the drink back like he was wronged by the woman. Probably called later to complain too

Original video

Just to clarify for anyone thinking she over-reacted, this is a train horn, not an air horn. For some context:

Train horn: ~150dB

Threshold for hearing loss: 85 dB

states that it was their a train horn from their truck.

edit: You might need this, so they don't get ad revenue.

Even sliding the window back was boss. She gangsta

They're not even pranks. They're "be an inconsiderate cocksucker who's asking to get beat up" channels. "Oh shit, let me go stomp on dudes sneakers around a bball court in the hood! Hahahahah! So funny!" "Let's go blast a noise that's considered dangerous to your hearing in an enclosed space! To someone making minimum wage! A hahahahahaha! Good showing, chap!" "Let's pretend to beat a female on a major city street, and then complain about equal rights! Yahaha!"

I would sub to a dude who knows where these people live and wears a mask and just runs up and starts throwing haymakers. The second they think they've pulled off their "prank" scott free, and they think they have an escape window, but X-dude has figured out where they live and cuts their escape time from 12 secs to 0. If somebody out there doesn't feel like working and wants to start a YouTube channel like this... I for one think you'll be very successful, and I'm willing to donate while you get your shit straight.

She did it a bit too hard and it bounced back open though, shes certainly a natural but no pro yet

I like the driver's retaliation of "no.. you.... drink splash"

I thought having a train horn on your car was super illegal in a bunch of US states

Yeah I think they repost it a bunch too on /sub/videos.

Saw the clip on YT. She tossed back the payment card, and said something like, "You're not gonna get anything to drink. Go."

It is. Doesn't stop people though.

Welcome to reddit, where even the comments are reposts.

I swear this exact comment was on the original post

This one gets posted every couple of weeks. I don't mind so much, it's a perfect example of Justice, but there's gonna be some idiots commenting that she's the bitch and they are the victims. Just watch.

Edit: Every time. Every damn time.

Yep, saw this reposted a few times today. Also, it's a taco biz (Bell or Time or Del Mar or ?), not McD's. The McD's sign is a reflection of the McD's next door.

She's working minimum wage, in a hot room, loud and always working with shitty customers, and some dude rolls up and scares her with a loud ass train horn with a goofy smile on his face. Im so pro-that chick. I can imagine the two dudes as they pull away like "What the fuck is wrong with that bitch? Its just a prank, god she must be on her period" and all that shit.

But still, coming to somone's work, just to blare a god damn train horn in their face as a """prank""" is really fucking douchey, and it makes me wish the girl was throwing hot coffee on the guys

Watch me pour gallons of milk on the floor hyuk hyuk

This guy tacos

Not to nitpick too much, but 85 dB causing hearing damage is over an 8 hour workday, usually.

85 dB is the equivalent to heavy city traffic, and short exposure to that level is not harmful at all.

That doesn't take away from what they did though, as Sirens (~120 dB) or fireworks, small firearms, or small explosions (~150 dB) can be very harmful in short doses, especially when it is able to bounce into a confined reflective space like she is in.

Welcome to reddit, where even the reposts are reposts

Except that they literally assaulted her

I wondered why she would have opened the window again after that flawless execution. That makes a lot more sense now.

the people who did this are absolute dickheads. got what they deserved.

It's definitely a Taco Bell, you can tell by the breakfast items displayed in the window as he drives off.

What a complete asshole.

I hate air horns enthusiastically. After high school in my country there's this final masquerade party thingy, people dress up, drive around the town on trucks and often blast air horns. All in good fun.

But before the ride in a school corridor some asshat came from behind and blasted an air horn right next to my ear. I turned around and was like dude, wtf, he blasted it again at my face, smirking like a fuckwit.

I'm not a violent guy but it's the first and last time I've hit anyone, straight to his blower. Broke my middle finger slightly and he lost two teeth. I didn't hear well with my left ear for a while and the rest of the day was ruined for me.

I fucking hate air horn "pranks".

Now I have no way to prove this besides going back to my hometown and taking a picture of that drive-thru but I have met this Elliot guy before and he's a bit of a poser kind of guy for a rapper. I met him two years before he did this video and that kid who was 16 at the time was already covered in tattoos

This couldn't have been her first asshole rodeo.

Too bad it wasn't coffee

She threw the card so he'd be using his hands to catch that instead of blocking the drink, which wouldn't have even worked since she gave it a little spin so it'd start spilling before even hitting him. Flawless execution.

As someone who has suffered from the red mist in the past, I don't think it was that calculated. She flips the card in anger, tells them they're not getting their drink, then just tosses it in after the card as the mist rises. She probably closes the window to end the confrontation, knowing she could be in big trouble for her actions but having been unable to help herself.

Thats fucking badass

Hope she didn't get fired

Alright so this image is extremely graphic but since you brought it up, you should be aware that this is a photograph of the injuries sustained by the plaintiff in this famous case. She was over 80 years old, she never fully recovered from these injuries and died not too long after. The temperature at which they were keeping their coffee is capable of causing third-degree burns in seconds, and when you spill that liquid on your clothes you'll be in contact with it for far more than a few seconds.

It's almost as if McDonald's is a multi-billion dollar organization that can afford to run a massive spin campaign to preserve its public image...but nah, it's easier to believe the plaintiff was just looking for an easy payday.

What is she saying?

Sadly in this world, if they showed this video to her manager, she would probably get fired...

Yeah, that'll teach her. LOL

I can guarantee at least one sub with a monthly Patreon donation for that YouTube channel. However, I have one condition: After he beats the shit out of the "prankster" he has to spit in their face and say "It's just a prank, bro."

I love how he throws it back like he's the victim now

Do NOT click on that link even to downvote. UGH, ugly trollers.

if you really want to support these assholes.

or report/downvote them.

The real reposts are always in the comments.

He handed her his card first. I would've just held on to it and told him if he wants it back he can come inside and talk to the manager first. Smile for the cameras and get put on the Do Not Serve list.

I agree with you, McDonalds imo wouldn't. It sucks that people abuse everyone from bartenders to store clerks, because they think they are bigger than them and they can treat them any way they wish to. And many times, the company sides with the customer even though the employee was in the right...

No its just illegal

Women and desert lizards can shoot blood from their eyes when angry or threatened.

I think you're on to something here.

A prank is supposed to end with the person being pranked reacting with something along the lines of "AAHHHHH! Oh! Shit! You got me!" and then you both should be able to laugh about it after

Jumping out from around the corner scaring your roommate on his way to his room is a prank.

Throwing waterballoons at your roommate as he's in his work clothes and carrying in Groceries. Not a prank

Both have happened to me

Why would you order a drink while doing this? You're Basicly asking to get that shit in your face.

Like she's talking to a couple of 4 year olds.

right?! Came in to say the same thing

Because it's the cheapest thing you can order at every drive through in town while you go around scaring the shit out of people just trying to do their jobs, if I had to guess.

He could maybe press charges. It's battery. Might be a tough sell for a judge though.

I think all her lawyer would have to do is bring a train horn into the courtroom, and unexpectedly blast it once.

I can see it already. "McDonald's worker in viral YouTube video fired by manager."

Please report these idiots to YouTube as bullies.

Original on Youtube if you really want to support these assholes.

Streamable mirror of full video with audio.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I read the words. "No, fuck that" proceeds to throw

I saw a guy at walmart with one. Horn must have cost more than his piece of shit truck.

"Ripped Robbie" and "Elegant Elliott".

Together they are the

F U C C B O I S U C C B O I S

I have a better one

Can't expect too much from the guy that gets his chuckles by making loud noises at other people.

Instead of interacting like a normal person and talking in a normal voice, this male hominid has decided that making excessively loud noises is his preferred method of communication.

He is perplexed by the females negative response and flees the scene. He will continue with many more fruitless attempts to find a mate for some time.

He is a fascinatingly stupid creature.

And 2.5 million views. That's all they care about

That is pretty much the level of maturity that I am seeing from these guys.

In the follow up video they claim that she wasn't even angry and understood the prank. 'It sas not even a big deal'.

Cunts deserve no subscribers and the ute crushed.

*what about the little kid (maybe 5yo) crossing the road in front of them blasting the train horn. Fuuuuuuck lucky it wasn't my kid they did it to.

I know. I like her.

AND THE FUCKER LITTERS

AND call her a bitch?

These people dont deserve the youtubes

Elegant Elliott

This guy?

Elegant Elliott

?

I have tinnitus, and I wear ear plugs when I do anything slightly noisy- rock concert, movie theatre, using a drill, whatever. Thinking about being snuck up on with a TRAIN HORN made me want to cry. It makes me happy having more reasons to hate those two.

Spitting in someone's face in the US is battery.

Welcome to reposts, where the reddits made up and the upvotes don't matter

Yeah what a douche, working a drive thru window dealing with so many strangers is already draining enough.

The best pranks are "You feel a bit silly, but you're fine." It shouldn't damage anything but their pride.

They still get ad revenue when you watch the video. Hence the support.

8 k likes and 29k dislikes. lol

Just a social expiremennnnt!

video

In the it sounds like "You're not getting your drink. Go."

As someone with tinnitus, it's not something to fuck around with. Anyone that risks your hearing needs to be drawn and quartered

If it was, he could probably sue.

It's not only illegal but if you cause harm to someone(like spook them into a ditch while driving) you're fully responsible.

Story time:

Worked at McD's in high school- one prank that was common at the time was to order the messiest sandwich possible, preferably one that came in a box. The prankster would pay, get their sandwich, get it out of the bag, and get the cashier to come back to the window. then they'd say something about how the sandwich was gross and throw the flimsy box back in the window knowing it will break open and mess up their clothes. I fell for it a couple times.

One night I'm working drive through and take an order from a carload of giggling imbeciles for a quarter pounder with extra extra extra mayo, ketchup, mustard, and tartar sauce. I'm no genius, but had a feeling the sandwich wasn't for eating.

I was having a bad night, and I almost told them to fuck off, but decided to use the opportunity. They paid and I handed over the bag quickly and shut the window. Then I moved over to the main counter, and busied myself with something there.

When they knocked on the glass, I asked my manager Jeff if he had a second to see what they wanted. He was happy to help, and as soon as he opened the window, he saw what they were up to and started backpedaling. he didn't get back fast enough and pranksters managed to toss their grease bomb through the window right at him.

Now, here's something I didn't know about Jeff. Apparently he pitched baseball in high school. Dude had reflexes like a computer. He caught that thing midair without opening it, shifted and sidearmed it back through the tiny window at about 85 miles an hour, right in the driver's face. It pretty much exploded on impact. There were condiments everywhere. Guy starts screaming and cursing like it was an unprovoked attack, and probably because it had to hurt. The other people in the car weren't all that happy either.

Since he was a manager, Jeff ended up apologizing- said it was just instinct and he hadn't meant any harm. Even offered to give the guy his his money back... if he came inside. Guy decided not to come into a busy restaurant covered in slime and just drove off.

An extreme case of 'FUCK THIS'.

Fuck this fuck that fuck you i don't need this shit job i don't have to put up with this for min wage fuckit i quit you can all go fuck yourselves that's it i'm goin home.

Most fast food workers are close to that all the time.

And she had only wanted medical expenses. The punitive damages were awarded because the jury was pissed off at McDonald's being total dicks.

Here's a detailed FAQ of the case.

You should seak him out and remove the rest of his teeth.

Oh yeah, absolutely. Like I said, that detail I pointed out doesn't take away from the fact that they are really stupid to slowly deafen everyone they subject that to. It's harmful, and they need to learn that.

This is fantastic. He deserved it.

Nah, her medical bill for her hearing loss would be much more expensive than shampooing his carpet.

Especially after he threw the drink back like he was wronged by the woman. Probably called later to complain too

Why are you complaining SirBro, it's a prank.

Super just illegal.

AND they litter. Pieces of shit..

They did the dang prank purposely near elderly and children. So messed up.

It's not what YouTube doesn't like, it's what advertisers don't like. Advertisers will probably list "Trump" as a keyword for videos they do not want to be associated with. It's a HELL of a lot more than divisive topics like politics too. A lot of big channels almost lost all of their income that have nothing at all to do with politics. Google's problem was too many videos are created that humans can't review them all. If you have a topic tagged in your video that advertisers do not want, you're screwed until appeal which you may never get. This isn't some conspiracy like you're making it out to be.

Yeah, but decibels are logarithmic in nature, so increases scale up quite powerfully. So, 85 dB is the generally accepted standard for when sustained sounds can cause hearing loss. However, the generally accepted standard for impulse noises (those sounds of an intense, but short duration) is around 140. Train horns are generally 140-155 dB, around as loud as firing many firearms.

I don't think a single honk of the horn is enough to cause any permanent damage, but certainly could impact the temporary threshold. That being said, if the enclosed space (as many drive-thrus can be) or personal history of the employee were such, there could potentially be lasting damage.

Damage aside, a sudden sound of that magnitude can be incredibly startling. In the hearing industry, I believe they would refer to this as a "dick move".

Depends what country this was in. If it's the UK then she might have got fired or at least got written up for it. The "Customer is always right" policy is taken to the extremes in UK Maccies. As long as they didn't do something illegal, the managers will ALWAYS take the customer's side. I've seen people throw food through the drive thru window then get compensated for it for free. I've seen people spit in the face of the cashier and throw cigarette butts that were still burning at them and still getting served after. I've seen a customer tell one of the managers that she doesn't want "that guy" to touch her food (that guy being some paki dude). IIRC she also called him a terrorist or something. You know what happened? Nothing. They got someone else to get her (free) food. It's absolutely ridiculous over here.

it's true, when i worked at mcdonalds there was a whole class of people who enjoyed abusing us. It almost seemed like it was part of the fast food experience for them. and these are the same people who will call corporate with some bullshit story about how they were minding their own business when an employee flipped out on them. Fortunately at least in the mcdonald's I worked at, we had a store manager who would stick up for us. I'd say if we actually threw a drink at a customer we'd get fired though.

Well YouTubers were making a big fuss about a huge decrease in add revenue due Wall Street Journal's harsh assessment on some random instances of people misusing the medium for anti-Semitism and racism. I mean nearly all of 'em were bitching about it for months. Not sure about the immediate current state of the situation. So I was trying to imply that there won't be much of a difference in terms of revenue wheather it was posted on imgur or YouTube.

TLDR; not much difference in ad-revenue due to YouTube in poor condition (apparently)

I don't see why you are so triggered by what he said? He was talking about the facts for hearing loss for an average person. Obviously if you have worse hears this doesn't matter to you.

I wish they could add a thing that allows ads on youtube channels you want to support though. Best I'm able to do is whitelist an individual page.

Issa Taco Bell

The whole system is built to exchange cheeseburgers for money and it hates when human dignity gets in the way.
