Played before and after UPDATE. Facts!

I keep seeing the same shit over and over and over and typing this would be really hard so I'm going to try my best. DON'T BURY THIS just because it's not the narrative you want to see, this is literally my experience and answers to questions from someone who played the game for about 6 to 8 hours yesterday after they updated it. AMA

CREDIT SYSTEM IS REDUCED No it is not, just for campaign, I checked rewards and they were all the same and I also played matches, I was shit in one and got only 100 credits, I was top 3 on the losing team in another Ans I got 300 or so, my friends and I got different amounts at times, I think it's in tiers to be honest, top so many get this much then lest the next group and so on, I like that idea but can't fully confirm that whats happening but there is different amounts going around in a single game.

GAME HAS PAYWALLS, P2W, PAY TO PLAY I really don't think so, my buddy and I were both playing assault class mainly, btw I we haven't spent a dime on loot, and by dime I mean even credits, I'm saving mine for now to see what happens, but we play different and use different cards we crafted. He ended up getting a loot box for his scanner ability, it even was named after it, I got a veteran assault box, and in mine has a blue card with a character not ability mod (health regen). That is your progression, play the class you want and you will get the cards for it in boxes for it like was even stated. I used scrap at first and now I got a better card.

TOP PLAYERS ARE ONES THAT PAID Not really again, I have been looking at people who kill me and what they have, I did from blaster fire mainly from directions I am not looking or angles I can't get a shot at. Most my kills come from flanking. What kills me the most? Heroes, to which when I have a bad game I play strike. What do I see in strike? Objective gameplay and I never feel like I'm losing due to cards, more to lack of communication with my team, which we can't even talk about or work on right now because of everything else.

BUT THE OLD SYSTEM WAS BETTER I hated the old system, I felt like shit in it. People would have these gold or high mods and mine would be basic. I didn't have the time to grind it out and get that shit becuse i have things to do. But now I cam get good cards from playing a bit and if I i don't like what I got we now have an economy in place that I can just do challenges, get scrap, and make it. Could it use some tweaks? Sure it could. Should it be gone? I don't want it to be, for someone like me it feels more fair.

Edit: was typed on a phone on lunch break, just want to talk about the damn game, I want to try and talk about private matches with friends.

Playing on pc, got the first on Xbox.

Anything else, ask away.

I think the current system is bad, not terrible.

However, with companies like EA, if you give them an inch they will take a mile. This always happens.

It isn't about the quality of the game for me. It is about the anti-consumer tactics they are using. It will only get worse as people continue to support games with these features. It used to just be map packs, then season passes. Now we are seeing F2P shit in 60$ games.

Lol already talking about dlc. Open your eyes man

?????????????????

Lets say you want to get the highest possible cards for one of you classes. How many cards and scrap pieces would you need? How long would it take to get 1 class all the way up to epic?

No

They don't care about your criticism, you bought their game.

I've been running some prelim numbers based on approx credits/hour from match rewards. assuming NO starting common/uncommon version of the card, it would take about 9 hours of regular play to upgrade a single star card to rare and 27 to upgrade it to epic. This is if you are being efficient and buying hero crates (trooper crates are terrible crafting parts value). I have multiple spreadsheets devoted to these calculations and may make a larger post once I get more match and crate data.

Care to elaborate though?

That's one change to one game though, how is it killing the industry?

OP is referring to the DLC that has been confirmed to be free.

Please take a look at Levelcap's A Wing gameplay and see how advantageous upgraded ships are versus unupgraded ones. It's night and day.

Your opinions are now invalid

It takes 1/2 a year to get all cards and get them to lvl 4.

I'm going to post my personal experience and have to disagree. I've played the starfighter assault mode and was able to go on a 69 player kill-streak with one death before and two after the kill-streak. I have zero star cards and one of the three deaths was to a guy with star cards. I think its down to individual skill, Level is a good player. Personally, I've seen it as individual skills and the star cards just help you towards a play style that fits you. If you are more aggressive, go damage and turn speed. Maybe you play slow heavy ships so you want to make them tanky with health. They feel like a supplement that doesn't change any fights. Its anecdotal but I've been winning fights easy without the use of star cards. Just feel the video is skill, not the cards.

Edit: Wanna say I dont love the system or think its good. People, however, are overreacting and not actually playing or experiencing the system before judging. Sometimes even ignoring other factors such as individual skill.

Did you include the fact that in order for a card to be able to upgrade they need to be a certain level? I also found this thread

https://www.reddit.com/sub/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/7cimsb/i_calculated_the_estimated_time_re...

The point of the video titled "I paid to win Star Wars Battlefront 2" is how far ahead of other players he is because he dropped money on the crates and states that he is much farther ahead of anyone who did not spend money.

I thought you left for the happy bf2 subreddit because of all the negativity, how come you are still around?

Free, but will probably cost a lot more than the base heroes with credits

Your opinion is wrong

In before "you work for EA"

See ya on the battlefield, trooper.
