Forget the rock star part, living until 90 years old alone is already an achievement.
At the risk of repeating my comment too many times, I'm just amazed that when I saw him play 30 years ago, his hits were already "oldies" back then because they had come out in the 50s.
Great talent, sad of course, but not a tragedy at all.
Exactly, and he lived a pretty wild life. I've seen some videos.
Dude had a fucking 70 year career. He played in 8 decades. And got to live to see his work appreciated by generations. Tragedy is not the word to describe his life.
He will be missed, even if he did rip off Marty McFly
The fart video is the best one.
Welp, here we go google.
He's farting in a hookers face right now in the great beyond!
It's funny because BootyBootyFartFart's username is very applicable to their comment. beep bop if you hate me, reply with "stop". If you just got smart, reply with "start".
I remember watching a documentary 15 Or so years ago and hearing him praised by Eric Clapton Paul McCartney and others as a huge influence and great innovator. The man lived an amazing life. Dying at a ripe old age isn't tragic and living like him is a fucking miracle.

My first thought was "he was still alive? Wasn't he around in a hugely drug and alcohol fuelled era? Didn't he party like a motherfucker?"
With so many important people to me dying with so much left to give, I celebrate deaths of this sort. Hitting 90 is a fucking huge deal. Hitting that age as goddamn Chuck Berry? That's a miracle.
I still cannot believe Keith Richards is still alive. It was a running joke in the 80s/90s... well, still that when Keith Richards dies, everyone within a mile of where he's cremated is going to be high as fuck.
Touring takes years off of even the healthiest person's life. I'm surprised when rock stars live past 55.
Dude is only 73 the fact that he looks old enough that people use him as an example of immortality shows you how rough his lifestyle actually is on a person...
It's funny because danhern's username is not very applicable to their comment.
beep bop if you hate me, fuck off I'm drunk.
Did you know that scientists studied his DNA to find out how he's still alive and found out he was a fireman on 9/11?
That's Marvins fault
Keith Richards... just gonna leave this here pretty sure he is gonna die at the age of 150.
I have a rule, make it to 72 and I don't feel bad. You lived a full life. Anything more is a sexy bonus you need to embrace. Under 60 is a tragedy. 61 - 71, ehh, nice run, sorry for your loss though.
You die at 90 I'm not going to feel too bad for you, sorry.
(∩ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)⊃━☆ﾟ. * ･ ｡ﾟ. * 💨
It's not called dying when you make it to 90...thats called winning the game.
Username checks out.
His cousin Marvin Berry?
The title "chuck berry lets one rip into a hookers mouth" Will be with me forever.
You know that new sound you've been looking for? Well, listen to this!
William Shatner is 85.
Fuck yeah it is. Went to my grandma's 90th birthday party today. She had a stroke almost 8 years ago and shes doing great and admitted that she never thought she would see 90. She's had a crazy fucking life and I hope we celebrate her 100th.
What about Ozzy Osbourne man
I'm reading "Life" by Keith Richards, and he cites Chuck Berry as a huge influence as well.
He affected such a large swath of artists, you'd imagine he's up there with the Beatles or Robert Johnson in that regard.
What if I told you that it's not unusual to be sad about somebody passing, even if it was timely?
Chuck Berry died!?
I'd like to know what kind of deal the devil gave Robert Redford. I just saw him in Pete's Dragon and the man looks incredible. He's not a rocknroller and I'm sure makeup is helping a little, but holy shit there is some dark magic afoot there if I can look at an 80 year old and think, "Yeah, I'd still hit that".
People just misuse the word "tragedy"
You forgot to add the part to the end of your comment that says this isn't a tragedy
Turns out his DNA also revealed that he is the long lost twin brother of Mankind, who the Undertaker threw from the top of the cage onto the announcers table during a 1998 Hell in a Cell match.
NSFW link to video:
"Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down...."
I see we like similar films ;)
Not to mention he farted right into a hookers mouth.
Marvin must be a mess.
The fart video?
You forgot to add the part to the end of your comment that says this isn't a tragedy. It's not a tragedy
When you're well into old age, it's not tragic anymore, it's nature taking it's course. Sad for friends and loved ones, but not tragic.
It's safe for women to use the bathroom again...
Its brutal. He starts cracking them right in her fucking face lol.
Speaking of winning the game...
They only way I wouldn't agree is if the person dies in an accident.
No one is posting a link though!
"Finally dead" isn't as catchy of a title.
A text based Rick roll, I applaud the effort.
I thought you were kidding holy crap
Yes and no. Quality of life makes a big difference.
If you make it to 72 but you spent 45-72 hooked up to O2 because you smoked from 15-45, well..
Every time someone smokes a cigarette God takes a day from their life and gives it to Keith Richards.
The tragedy is that he should've been paid a fortune for his music. I always heard over the decades that he kept touring because he needed the money.
Oh god him too? First Chuck now Check! Who's next, Chick?
Not going to get into drugs or alcohol even, but even just the constant flying/driving, weird sleep schedule, and stress is enough to take off years of person's life.
Honestly the one that impressed me was Lemmy. 5 solid decades of alcoholism, smoking and speed and he made it to 70. At least Ozzy has cleaned up his act periodically, Lemmy just never stopped.
As a funny story, I saw Black Sabbath on their The End tour and half the concert Ozzy looked like he was trying to arthritically hump the mic stand.
Fat don't crack honey. And he dyes the shit out of his hair, but that's besides the point.

It can be sad but it's not tragic when a 90y/o person passes away from natural causes or disease. I mean it still tragic if they get hit by a bus or something...
Yes, Check Berry as died
even if someone dies aged 100 in an accident, it's still "meh. hell of a run"
Happy birthday to your grandma. I was at my great grandfathers 90th as well today, and I hope we can both celebrate 10 years from now.
I mean uh
I am now training myself to read from bottom up to reduce the occurrence of bamboozling.
Hint: nineteen ninety eight is much less conspicuous.
Her reaction is my fave part.
Like, what the fuck is she gonna do about it?
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis "the wise"? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.
When I first heard he died, I thought "that's a shame." When I heard he was ninety, it added to "That's a shame, but at least he had a hell of a life."
I grew up with Chuck Berry's music and for whatever the reason made the assumption that he was already dead while I was still young... and then one day I found out he was still alive... and then the internet showed me a video of him banging a prostitute... and then he intentionally farted into that prostitutes mouth.
Your attempt at spelling "dying" is the only tragedy I see.
Keith Richards is transfused with the blood of the innocent. He will be forever.
It's so surreal to see Chuck Barry fart into a woman's mouth. It's just crazy. Why not. But it is. I wonder if people that monitor citizens ever have that feeling, like I didn't wanna know Anthony Kiedis uses Sharpies in his butt every single time.
Have you seen him when he was younger? Dude was cut from a fit cloth
I like you. You can come to my house and fuck my sister.
i died laughing. her reaction was the best.
That's a matter of opinion
Helen Mirren turns 72 this year; she's still got it.
I have not seen anyone call his death a tragedy. It's a loss, and a sad day for music. It's a day for people to reflect on the profound influence he had on music. However, his death is not tragic. Only Keith Richards will live forever.
And OP is autistic.
If you don't want to watch the whole weird thing, I suggest watching the boiled down version on Efukt. It's the 2 best parts in one brief video!
What if we stopped talking solely by using questions?
Where's the crime in that?
So Chuck Berry heaven is hooker hell.
Why did I just google that and what did I just watch?
Certainly we can be sad, and muse over the ephemerality of human life, the nature of suffering that is the human condition.
But we tend to reserve the word "tragedy" for untimely deaths and wasted lives.
Pretty sure it's the massive amounts of coke and booze that's usually consumed while touring that does it...
Touring actually seems like it would keep you pretty healthy.
Keith Richards is a drug elemental.
