Obama out

Obama out

Thanks Obama

Droning innocent people and mass surveillance come to mind.

Honestly a solid president. Even if you don't agree with most of his politics (which I don't) you can't deny that he makes up for that in the quality of his character. Thanks Obama

Sad that he's leaving, but happy that he finally gets a break. Dude aged twenty five years in the last eight.

Don't forget his appalling stance on whistle-blowers

Gone, but not forgotten. I hope he throws on a mustache and runs again in 2020.

He should just get swole and run as "The Rock Obama"

Presidency

Not even once

The way he shouted out to Michelle in his speech. I hope my future husband thinks of me half as highly as Obama regards his wife.

And the shout-out to Joe made me tear up. I hope they stay friends after January 20th.

I'm gonna cry for real

bruh I said I'm done. don't be hitting me up no more. I'm out the game.

"I have no more campaigns to run. My only agenda--"

Republicans cheer

"I know, cuz I won both of them."

Why is this making me uncomfortable

Excuse me, I don't know anything about Assange, but I am here for the circlejerk

He did it twice

"Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, girl from the South Side..." I need to get me a President too

> whistle-blowers

Shhhh, keep it down, you'll start up the pro-Assange circlejerk

Joe in the bucket hat is just killing me

Lik if u cry evry tim

Well, he's not quite done yet. First he has to finish baby-proofing the Oval Office.

Probably because you (like me) are trying to isolate the features of President Obama and the features of The Rock, but failing. It's so bizarre.

Brock O'Bama 20162020

God, I wish. I'm barely even a woman.

If i may ask: Which politics dont you agree on?

SMASH 😭😭 THAT 😭😭 MF 😭😭 Man I can't even do it...

pro redditors know not to miss out on a circlejerk even if they are oblivious to the subject matter initially

Are you a strong, beautiful, intelligent woman with an undergrad from Princeton, a law degree from Harvard ?

I don't. You're president does not believe in climate change and he was still voted in. Obviously your people have a huge lack of scientific comprehension. Everything your country does affects mine, so you're fucking right I have an opinion, and it seems to be more informed than a good portion of your voters.

I just like cooperative masturbation in a group environment

Case in point.

But he didn't put an end to any of those, either. He campaigned on a platform of transparency and change but did not deliver in some areas. PATRIOT ACT is a terrible piece of legislation that should have been killed but he expanded it. I was also hopeful that in his second term, he would shut down Gitmo. With that place open and the drone strikes ongoing, it makes it hard to try to claim moral ground anywhere in the world.

Overall I think Obama was a good president and I can see how his failings were not his alone as he was practically an outsider in his own government but the large scale efforts that he fell short of still ding his legacy.

I find it weird that an outsider thinks they have a better idea of how well Obama did than the actual Americans in this thread.

It's our nose

Damn. grabbing karma by reposting the background image. really can't beat that.

Ugh here we go again.

Barack Obama helped pass the 2012 whistleblower protection Enhancement Act that strengthened and expanded the existing protections for whistleblowers and for the first time allowed them to sue for damages if they had suffered retaliation.

"But the law failed to give whistleblowers access to jury trials and it did nothing for workers in the intelligence community" you might rebut. And yes, despite the law being praised by transparency organizations, the law did fail to do that...

...Except Obama then passed the Presidential Policy Directive 19, which expanded those protections to national security and intelligence employees.

Finally, just because you're a whistleblower, that doesn't automatically make you a good guy. The government for the most part keeps things top secret for a reason, because they're a threat to national security. If you're going to release information just because it's secret and you get someone killed, you deserve what's coming to you.

And im not a president, you'll do.

Apparently he needs to put down some newspapers as well.

Whistleblowing doesn't mean just releasing secret information for no reason; It means reporting an employers misconduct / corruption.

At the end of the day, if you're going to break the law and ignore the human rights of your citizens, people are gonna call you out on it.

It's super easy to add snapchat stuff on a picture.

Can someone tell me what's going on here?

Is this shopped, Did someone take a photo then put this on snap or did he take a selfie with someones phone, and then they added in the snap caption later?

His foreign policy wasnt to my liking.

Good ol Uncle Joe.

Well, neither of those are unique to the Obama administration. He didn't pass the PATRIOT Act nor did he begin the War on Terror and the subsequent invasions. These seem to be more advents of attempted fights against terrorism that will probably come up in every administration going forward from here. Not saying Obama put forth a lot of effort to try and stop any of that, but it isn't something that will realistically end with a presidential election, ending this kind of stuff will require a national shift in what the country deems acceptable for combating terrorism

The Rock's mouth, head, and neck; Obama's eyes, ears, and hairline

I will preface this by saying that I did not vote for Trump, but it's highly probable that the people who voted for Trump did so because of his campaigning towards "the forgotten men and women of America", not because of his scientific viewpoints, narcissism or racism/xenophobic remarks. It's almost as if there are people in middle America who are losing jobs and are willing to take a risk on a man who they believe has been successful in business, and would like to see manufacturing come back to the states so they can feed their families. Will they be right? Who knows, he hasn't even taken office yet. But don't presume that your population is automatically more informed than another because it makes you come off as a pretentious know it all.

Short memories around here. If the president doesn't dial back all the failures of past presidents they become his I suppose.

Obama put America in a better place than it was in 2008. That may be a low bar, but he was pushing uphill the whole way

"I'm good with group projects"

That shit was gold when he said that

See how easy it is with reposts?

For all intensive purposes

If "going through the proper channels" includes committing suicide with 2 bullets to the back of the head in a "street mugging gone wrong," it's possible breaking the law has it's perks. Like living.

Cue The Office music, with scenes from the White House

It's "case in point".

it's literally the sub's background

Because we understand how ridiculous Republicans were in their obstructionism and despite that, Obama still accomplished so much. Perfect example - one time Republicans filibustered their own bill after Obama publicly endorsed it.

goodbye my friend. i will never love again

Dude. That beef has been in the oven for decades. Give me a break.

He is one of those "im smarter than most" redditors. He doesnt know shit, just likes to make other people believe it.

On the lookout for enemies.

he probably took a selfie and posted it. then some guy saved the photo to their camera and edited it on Snapchat (you can send snaps now of photos from your camera roll)

And they say chivalry is dead

And not re-classifying marijuana. The dea also acted "tougher" on marijuana under his administration than any other.

Can we cut out the gitmo bullshit? He has tried and tried and tried to shut down gitmo.

Supporting the islamist rebels in Syria was a massive mistake. The SDF on the other hand wasn't.

Geopolitical rivals for 80 or so years but no, because it's apparently cool and edgy again to be a big fan of Russia and hold the US to be the bad country Obama was the one who ruined our relationship with them.

Never mind that he attempted at the start of his administration to 'reset' and normalize relations with Russia that had gone way downhill with the rise of Putin and GW as our president. Never mind that he was widely criticized for doing so by republicans because we should be harder on them. Never mind that it was Russia who responded to our 'reset' by invading and annexing part of one our friends.

This picture was a reminder that one day this day would come, and now that's it's finally here, I feel more uncertain about the future than ever before.

I don't even understand why so many wingnuts are Russia fans now. Massive parts of the economy are state-controlled (muh free market?), there's next to zero press freedom and journalists just straight up get killed sometimes (maybe they like that?), they interfered with our election (what happened to patriotism? they fucked with our country! fuck them!), they're massively antagonistic to us and our allies in europe... but they hate gays and their president for life flies fighter jets, so whatever I guess?

So did Obama....?

Baldin' Donald Trum-

...

Well this is awkward.

Yeah, that's why

Yeah it's hard to take all of this fervent Obama criticism all over reddit seriously when people keep saying things like that. He did everything in his legal authority (and, according to his detractors in the other party, went beyond his legal authority) to shut that prison down. Want to blame someone for gitmo still being open? Call your congressman, since they are primarily responsible, and then call your governor and state legislators, because they are secondarily responsible. Even when all of the other arms of government threw up roadblocks Obama still has tried to end around them by saying 'ok, if you won't let me shut it down, I'll just get rid of all the prisoners in it to other countries that are willing to take them since you can't stop me.'

The gitmo criticism is completely, objectively, illegitimate. Many of the other criticisms are unfair, and some of them I just disagree with because I'm on the other side and support the action taken, and some of them I agree with. But this one needs to die. Gitmo cannot be pegged on Obama. Bush started it, Congress and the states continue it.

Did you see Assange's AMA yesterday? Reddit tore his ass up.

I remember reading somewhere that Obama playfully took Michelle Obama's phone and used her snapchat. Michelle made the snapchat account to connect to the youth, promote healthy living, and document her trip to Republic of Liberia.

Smoking that WhiteHouseKush 2.0

That's my twitter avi

It was pointed out last time this was posted that the two images are using two different camera lenses which result in two veryyyyy different looking pics.

Quality of character is pretty irrelevant for a president if you ask me.

Oh, your tune will change in four years.

Every time I see this picture all I see is how thin his ankle is.

That was a very pleasant exchange

That's why I'm not doing it...

Snowden and Manning

But whose nose is it?!

Like? Do you think a response like that is adequate?

Making grand assumptions about a population based upon a single metric does not mean you pay attention. It means you're narrow minded.

As terrible as he looks now, I can't even imagine how bad Trump will look after the presidency.
