Never tell a Giffer what to Gif

It's my first attempt at giffing, so I still have a lot to learn. Like how you guys get such a crisp image under 200mb.

edit: good morni-what the heck?! 10k upvotes and gold on my first gif? you guys have set the bar way too high. All I will promise for my next gif is that it will be TWICE as long and half as dramatic.

Well for starters, they are not usually 2 minutes. ;) The longer the gif the more your quality will have to suffer on account of the 200 mb limit.

This is pretty good though, if it is your first time.

Also, there is a nice scene in The Phantom Menace you should have done this in.

This was incredible, great gif, great meme, great meta. Papa johns 👌

Keep giffing your source, OP, please do!

Also feel free to post this in /sub/startrekgifs,

Also, there is a nice scene in The Phantom Menace you should have done this in.

I give this four out of FOUR LIGHTS.

The ONLY problem I have with this gif is that this scene is so iconic that I can't NOT hear Picard's real speech in my head.

Great job otherwise!

That Phantom Menace scene really would have made this gif good.

Sweet, subbed! I definitely have plans to make many more TNG gifs!

I wondered if at the end you were going to corrupt the image and have her say "you broke your little gif".

I loved this, but I have to say, I was a little disappointed that it didn't end with her saying "you broke your little gifs" and then having the gif explode.

Nice work. I'm glad you included "this far no further" in the new dialogue.

I'd love it if this trigger a new series of Star Trek gifs.

I like what OP did better. Everyone's expecting "You broke your little gifs". "You're such a nerd" is unexpected and funnier.

Yea this is the loudest goddamned gif ever for me

"If his chest had been a cannon, he would have shot his heart upon it."

"He piled upon the whale's white hump the sum of all the general rage and hate felt by his whole race... "

And the scene just before this when Picard calls Warf a coward and he says 'If you were any other man I would KILL YOU where you stand.'

So damn good

Long but worth every second. Keep it up!

Next gen is always solid. My favorite line from the whole series is when Data has a child and starfleet tries to order him to give her up. Captain Picard says "There are times, when men of good conscience, cannot blindly follow orders". This could easily translate to not conforming to popular gif sources

This was beautiful.

From the movie Star Trek: First Contact

REALLY speaks to Worf's respect for Picard, because he is NOT lying

Also Seinfeld has a few good scenes where this would have worked.

seconded for a hqg star trek marathon

I laughed damn hard at "You're such a nerd."

Also, god damn I love this movie.

"As a matter of fact, I think you're the bravest man I have ever known."

I cri evrytiem

Have you heard the tale of Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra?

I thought not. It is not a story StarFleet would tell you.

Any chance of a clipped out "this is where we draw the line, this far, no further!"? Would be great as a general reaction gif. I tried to find one the other day and only found a shitty tumblr one.

And it goes well with Jean Luc's reaction!

papa bless

It's a real masterpiece! Solid 5/7

That's what she said

So long as we get a "this is completely normal to you, isn't it? The two of us, flying around with no crew on the flagship of the Federation?"

"....we've never needed a crew before..."

This was stupendous. Great job.

"Star Trek: First Contact", the second Next Generation film and the 8th film overall, not to be confused with the episode of Next Generation called "First Contact"

"I have not observed anyone else on board consulting you about their procreation Captain."

This comment has made me realize that I am a legit Star Trek nerd. Sweet.

If it's your favorite please pause Voyager and watch First Contact. 2nd best trek movie.

You. I'm gonna love you.

I love this gif, but it's not mine.

She was just in First Contact.

The opinion is allowed, even if it's wrong.

I can say that I appreciate the way to text appears and disappears. It's a lot easier to understand what people are saying without that typical full sentences a second people seem to like to post around here. If you spark that trend, I'll love you forever. It'll make everything so much better.

Also, if youre doing Star Trek exclusive stuff, I salute you, you magnificent bastard.

"Here's a question you shouldn't be able to answer..."

"Computer.. What is the nature of the universe?"

"The universe is a spheroid region 705 meters in diameter."

Really suited creepy music plays

This gif need a Moby Dickbutt joke.

Not even a TNG (or Star Trek in general) fan, but I would love it if HQG went on a Trek spree.

this was strangely emotional. well done!

Well, you can wrap that opinion up until it is all sharp corners and shove it up your arse. Or /sub/prequelmemes.

We were all expecting it, which made "you're such a nerd" all the funnier to me. Like he was speaking to me.

"You broke your little ship"

You should really watch first contact if you haven't seen the series. It's quite good.

It'sa Mastapeace!

But this isn't from TNG, is it? I've watched the entire series (or the extent of it that they have on Netflix) and I can't recall this scene at all.

Edit: I don't even know who that woman is.

It's probably one of the best gifs I've seen on Reddit so far. So much hard work put into it and it's your first gif! Awesome work man.

You won't find much hate on Reddit for that particular opinion, in my experience.

One of my favourite scenes in the movie. Nice.
