I don't think this really has much import.
Wolverine has a metal skeleton and is an alcoholic.
Probably not specifically that it’s a ‘metal man’. Maybe more just the dangers of drinking and hinting at the fact that the drinking is what’s killing Logan faster. Since his healing has to deal with his liver instead of concentrating on the poison from the adimantium.
I might be getting that wrong. There’s a theory out there about the significance of Logan drinking so much is either helping or hurting him and I forget which.
And the relevance? Really asking.
Yeah definitely is physically holding him back, but after almost everyone gone in his life, he wants to die.
Yeah basically it's just Logan is a metal man from all the adamantium in his skeleton, and alcohol and the adamantium are both poisoning him. The doctor brought up that something was poisoning him in the scene directly before this.
Comic book Iron Man struggled with alcoholism, which has nothing to do with Logan or X Men. That's all I got.
