You push too hard dahhhling! But, I accept.
Which one is your girlfriend?
This is a hobo suit, dahhhling.
The broad, in the white in, the background of course.
It will be bold! Dramatic!
The professor is certainly channeling Edith Head, the costume designer who was the inspiration for Edna Mode.
Yes. Mr. Incredible
I both admire and despise your commitment to your username.
My grandmother is a fashion designer and personally knew and worked with Edith Head. We took her to see The Incredibles in theater, and when she came on screen she shouted "It's Edith!" and was so happy to see "her friend" represented on screen for the younger generation. I don't care what Brad says. Grandma says it's Edith, so it's Edith.
Trust me darling!
My God, you've gotten fat.
Oh shit she subs medical classes at the comunity college i attended
I only despite it.
Fun fact: Edna Mode is voiced by a man... Brad Bird, the director of The Incredibles.
And it's just because Brad Bird thought none of the women who auditioned could get the voice right, and when he tried to demonstrate how she should sound, the producers liked it so much they just had him do it.
Is your girlfriend seeing anyone?
Came here just to see this. Favorite line of the movie!
Biomedical illustration is a thing. Art history covers medical art. Art theory studies abstract representation of the body.
Art is a major part of biology and medicine.
Honey! Where is my supa suit?!
Not quite. He actually had Lily Tomlin come in to audition for the part and he did his impression so she'd know what kind of voice he was looking for. She's the one that told him that his version was already way better than anything she could do and that he should do the part himself.
We all know what happens when capes are involved!
“I never look back, darling. It distracts from the now.”
But can I get a cape?
You? Or also on the side?
According to pictures of Edith Head, it is.
If this hollywood director just happened to make his superhero costume designer closely resemble a famous hollywood costume designer completely by accident then that is a remarkable coincidence.
It will be bold...
That is quite the story.
My mom likes to point out every time we watch The Sound of Music that she met the real Maria von Trapp
<throws paper ball>
Based on what you say I’d say it’s definitely a part of biology and medicine but I wouldn’t go as far as to say a “major part”.
Do you remember Thunderhead? Tall, storm powers? Nice man, good with kids.
I just realised that's an anagram of odd enema.
This woman is in another post
I commented here till I find it
Edit: I'm still looking, I've looked through all the keywords
It's a post about this same woman and the title says she looks like Edna Mode, she's at a counter I think on a computer I think it might be a store but I can't remember if she's a customer or a manager
Vin Diesel directed The Iron Giant?
I guess he's branching out! Good for him!
Do you know where your husband is dahhhling?
Simple, elegant, yet bold. You will die!
See, I always saw her as more of a Linda Hunt, NCIS:LA in a way. Maybe she was channeling Edith Head too though....
Literally laughed out loud, just what I was hoping for.
How did you manage to stealth mode this picture? The angle is too good for discretion
This is the one. The image got deleted though.
Edit: Image Mirror
Why do you need to know!?!
I thought Vin Diesel voiced the Iron Giant
You know, I was watching this the other day and it struck me how her "no capes!" bit was actually pretty caring for her.
That's because he did! But he directed the movie.
Aaaannnd, I enjoy Lily Tomlin even more now. That woman cracks me up. Kinda sad that my first exposure to her was only as recent as Grace and Frankie, but that show is definitely worth it.
Are you happy, Max?
damn! this guy is good!
I need it!
Uh-uh! Don't you think about running off doing no derring-do. We've been planning this dinner for two months!
And if you shuffle those letters, you can get 'Edna Mode'.
Well Brad Bird created her so...
Brad Bird (@BradBirdA113) Tweeted: “@oziecargile: Is Edna Mode really Edith Head?”
No. People from MANY countries (27 & counting) were convinced I based E on a local icon. https://twitter.com/BradBirdA113/status/395000629128474624?s=17
As the comments were loading, I had one prediction... that this would be the top comment. I was not dissapointed.
I guess he's branching out! Good for him!
I see what you did there
Username checks out.
oh. does that ever make you feel insecure?
I happen to be an expert in Bird Law. (ง ͠° ͟ل͜ ͡°)ง[̲̅$̲̅(̲̅5̲̅)̲̅$̲̅]
And if you shuffle those letters, you get E DAMN DOE
That or she works with the NCIS:LA gang.
...and The Iron Giant...
I think you were just showing off your girlfriend. Congrats.
According to Brad bird that is not true
Is that danny devito?
the two words that made me laugh the most..
The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. And I know what it looks like too.
That also share ridiculously similar names. Hmmmm...
<paper throw balls>
I would say it definitely plays a major part. Illustrating biology is crucial to learning everything about it.
Yea. A contributor is probably more suiting.
He's feeling glad
"I never look back darling, it distracts from the now."
<balls paper throw>
I read that in her voice aloud and then laughed. I love that movie.
Game, set, match.
For the longest time I thought she was saying "this is a horrible suit" since she drops her Rs.
Oh, so not you then
Holy cow. She really exist in real life.
Everything she does is for and with care. :)
Ongo Gablogian, age 47.
That’d be none other than Lucius Best.
Guys, I just tried it myself and he's totally right.
Well according to the internet it is true so I think you're wrong because the internet never lies!
Tf are you talking about?
Go Team Venture!
e d n a m o d e
I use to think Edna was based on and voiced by Linda Hunt who looks a lot like Edna but Edna is voiced by Brad Bird himself lol
And they also have similar personalities. 🤷🏻♀️
