I found this newspaper from 1962 in my late grandparents' house in rural NC detailing John Glenn's spaceflight.

"First shalt thou ride the Holy Mercury to the Heavens, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then landest thy Holy Friendship 7 of Houston towards thy northern seas, who being awesome in My sight, shall high five it."

I'll try to get clearer pictures to you sometime this week!

Fantastic stuff. Any chance of pics of the article. Would love to read it. I have a thing for old newspaper articles.

My favorite aspect of this paper is how it uses color photography for its cover at a time when most newspapers didn't use color photography all that much.

That would be awesome. Thanks so much.

If there’s anything they knew in Greensboro at that time, it was colors. Made a huge deal about one color in particular.
