Y'know that thing that you spent a whole three days tweeting fire over, maybe you should not get caught doing that thing.
As a veteran this is not at all surprising to me. Trump has a history of disrespecting the flag and our veterans and service members. I just wish that someone other than Shareblue would call him out on it.
So much worse than taking a knee in protest, he was talking over it and making jokes about it.
Yeah, this isn't Trump doing the same thing as the players. This is taking what he was falsely accusing the players of doing and doing it himself but ten times worse....
I just wish that someone other than Shareblue would call him out on it.
Hence, apparently, the need for sites like Shareblue.
It's never been about the flag or the anthem. It's about the protest that Kaepernick started to start a conversation about police bias towards black people.
Let that sink in for a minute. The commander in chief of the military, doesn't understand simple military protocols.
No argument there. I'm not attacking Shareblue. I don't know why people are just assuming that. Shareblue is fine for what they do, but they don't reach anyone that isn't a Clinton supporter or already a liberal. We need heavy hitters like CNN, NBC, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo, and others to really get this story out there. People need to hear about this shit. I'm glad Shareblue is reporting on it. I just want others to do so also.
It doesn't matter. No one was really upset that it happened, they just needed a new excuse to be mad at the other side. Trump could wipe himself with the flag and virtually none of the people who a few days ago were outraged by a guy kneeling during the anthem will care one bit.
The reason they take the knee is specifically to pay respect to the fallen soldiers of our military. It's the opposite of what the right says it is.
It’s not hypocritical, he disrespects literally everything.
From the guy who "knows more than the Generals".
Unless it's been proven to be a fake story, taking a knee was recommended to Kapernik(sp?) by a soldier because he originally just sat through it and the guy mentioned doing it that way.
The other thing I like to point out, is if kneeling is disrespectful, then there are a lot of christians disrespecting god.
What the fuck are you on about? I just said I wished someone else would call him out on his bullshit. Shareblue is fine but it is in no way a mainstream media outlet. This story isn't going to reach very many people at all. We need heavy hitters like NBC, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo, and such to publish this information so that it reaches everyone. What is wrong with you?
Trump knows exactly what he was doing. He's very heavy into supporting the police. Even going so far as to say he's okay with roughing up suspects.
In case anyone is dumb enough to defend as just a civilian that didnt know better, he went to a military academy, he should be well aware of proper etiquette during retreat and flag lowering.
I talked to my dad about this (he's a vet and a Trump supporter) and my dad said he didn't know better so it's no biggie (unlike the NFL kneelers who know what they are doing)
I wonder if conservatives will get mad at this like they got pissed at Obama for saluting "too quickly" when he got off his helicopter.
Give me a break did he not attend the New York Military Academy how could he not know this was not proper?
People probably thought you were against Shareblue because people complain that they're biased every time they're posted. So they misunderstood what you were saying. But you're right, I wish bigger outlets would report on this.
No shit, they're going on about his past and I'm sitting here thinking
"oh now we're holding a rapper accountable for his past, but not the POTUS?"
You're making a beginner's mistake of thinking Trump knows or cares about hypocrisy and contradictions. He lacks both the aptitude and interest.
As a veteran, I think he's a piece of shit. Anything he does may easily be attributed to this overarching characteristic.
It was, it was a former green beret. He met and talked to Kaepernick about it. He said something along the lines of at least take a knee. His name was something hoyer. He was on the cnn town hall with Anderson Cooper and spike Lee and recounted his story/ interaction with Kaepernick.
Edit: a word
no president has disrespected the flag more than trump
what a joke
There are three things in the world that deserve no mercy, hypocrisy, fraud, and tyranny.
I need everyone to understand the magnitude of this. This bugle call is specifically for the flag, as it is lowered at the end of the day. The entire base halts. Those in uniform must stop face the flag pole, even if it isn’t visible, even if it’s miles away on the other side of the base, and salute. Civilians stop and stand at attention. Cars stop driving. On some bases, the drivers must dismount and salute. This is literally 45ish seconds of pure honor for the Colors, and an entire installation will pause to pay respect. The fact that Mr. No-Kneeling-Cuz-Murica not only doesn’t recognize the moment, but uses it to joke and selfishly wonder if it’s meant for him, is yet another slap across the collective military’s face.
