But...he was escaping the cold.

He has better chances in the cold than around my dogs. I did feel a little bad - but I’m not ready to make the commitment to become a Mole-Dad.

Missed an opportunity to tame it.

Weird cat.

Cute, but weird.

I went into my kitchen and heard scratching under the sink. My thought immediately was “oh no - we have mice!”. Opened up the cabinet and the box containing the garbage bags was shaking - look inside and found this little dude.

One of my cats brought a live (and uninjured) mole inside once. The claws they have are great at digging through dirt but don't do shit when trying to run on hardwood flooring. It was paddling those stumpy little legs as fast as can be...and was getting nowhere. I was laughing so hard it almost very slowly lurched away and under the cabinets. Scrabble scrabble scrabble for a few inches, pause to reorient, scrabble scrabble scrabble.

I used a broom and a dust pan (huge vicious teeth, was not getting anywhere near that, thanks) to gently sweep it into a box. From there I took it several houses down (both to get it away from my cats and, well, I didn't want it in my yard) and placed it in nice soft dirt. It had dug a hole and was gone in under a minute, amazingly fast in the right element.
