It's been a busy few weeks for Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II. We’re excited to have launched the game to the world, but recognize that there have been some challenges along the way. We have learned a lot, and are making adjustments to the game to ensure the best experience possible. On Tuesday, an update is rolling out that begins the Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II The Last Jedi Season by kicking off factional challenges, letting you choose a side and start competing for rewards as either The First Order or The Resistance.

Today, an update went live that includes some adjustments to the economy and progression. While these are only some initial steps toward making much larger changes, some of these are ready to roll, and are available starting today.

The end-of-round payout has been increased. This is an area we agree needed to be buffed a bit, especially when it comes to rewarding players for doing well in-game. We're upping the number of Credits you get for a match across the board, and specifically bumping the top players on each team by even more.

Earn 3X more Credits daily in Arcade Mode. It's been made clear that you were hitting the Arcade Mode Credit cap faster than we expected, so we wanted to alleviate that by increasing it to 1500 Credits. While we're still looking into ways to add more content into it the mode in the long-term, we think that this should help in the near-term for those who want rewards for completing the different scenarios.

Daily Login Crates will now provide more crafting parts than before. You'll notice the change right away when you log in. Crafting the Star Cards you want will help make sure you're progressing in the direction you want, and we absolutely wantto empower that. This should help you get where you want to go faster when it comes to crafting and upgrading.

Things kick into high gear over the next few weeks, during the Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II The Last Jedi Season, with free* heroes, maps, and vehicles. Stormtrooper-turned-hero Finn joins the fight for the Resistance and Captain Phasma steps on to the battlefront for the First Order. New locations and vehicles will also arrive: you can fight on the ground on the salt-covered planet of Crait in Galactic Assault mode, or take to space in the Starfighter Assault map of D'Qar (flying Tallie Lintra's RZ-2 A-wing, a vehicle you'll be seeing in the film).

And, of course, Iden Versio returns in Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II Resurrection during the days of the First Order’s rise to power. These new chapters of Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II’s single-player story mode will be available December 13.

That requires a client patch. This is all server-side change. I believe next week when they add the SP DLC we'll receive the client patch.

Surprisingly hopeful news. I'm being optimistic, but hopefully this is a sign that this game can actually be salvaged.

As far as I'm concerned credits should just be a flat percent of your battle points. So if you can rack up 28k points you should get 2,800 for example. If you AFK and get zero points you should get zero credits.

So, question: this basically means that credits are still time based, but top 3 players get a boost, right? If so, I don't understand why they can't reward everyone according to their score.

Okay, they are now 1% of the way to fixing this. The crates need to be removed from progression. That's the announcement we are waiting for.

I can almost guarantee you they didn't. They know that people would see right through that bullshit, and they are inn full damage control mode.

Tl;Dr: we didn't change anything, all the p2w RNG progression bullshit is still there, we just reduced the grind slightly

Really depends on how long that game lasted, 505 credit for a 2nd phase game sounds like double what it was before.

This is a major increase over before, where you'd get maybe 400 for a very long game, around 275 on average

The grind is a symptom of the problem. The problems are still there.

Because that would stop afk farming which would reduce the player count and it would allow skilled players to bypass the grind that was designed to frustrate them to the point of buying crystals to gamble.

Ok, so it sounds like they acknowledged the big issue, and they’re giving a bandaid fix for the short term. Hopefully, in a season, they do a complete overhaul of progression. Hopefully.

lol yes. A farmer just got 500 credits in a game. Then was just in a HvV lobby with 7/8 being farmers

I just played 1 match on Kamino and it ended on the second phase i was 2nd MVP with 9k points and got 505 credits

That is an improvement but not anywhere near enough. 28k points is way above average to score in one match, you should've been awarded at least 1000 credits. EA is still being stingy with rewarding players as always.

If they want to make a fun experience then they should just remove the credits cap from arcade mode. Last time I checked this game is 60€ NOT a mobile p2w....... oh

That's really dumb. With custom arcade, people are just making the game last 30 seconds to get their credits. 1500 credits takes around 5 minutes. If they removed the cap, everyone would have tons of credits and have everything unlocked and ruin all progression. Clearly you, like most others on this subreddit, haven't played the game..

Just played on Kamino and my team couldn't get past the first phase. So a very quick game. I think I was 4th on my team. I got 325 credits for the match.

I tried it out with my friend.

I did absolutely nothing during the whole match, got 351 credits.

my friend was mvp, he got 450 credits

Yikes. This is what EA wants. The credit rewards are still very low and the progression doesn't belong in a $60 game.

Edit: My post is unclear. This game's progression system does not belong in a $60 game. Not saying all progression does not belong in games, that's silly. A normal progression system that rewards unlocks based on class use and good performance is what the game needs.

The game is a decent beer with dogshit in it, they scooped out a small amount of dogshit, but I still wouldn't drink the beer.

What if they scooped out all the dogshit? If they removed everything you hated and the game was perfect, would you drink a beer that had previously had dogshit in?

Make it based on time spent. Unlike PvP, arcade is against bots, so that sort of system actually makes sense.

It just tripled. That's fine. Daily logins shouldn't ever be the means to create epics, actually playing the game (with no 500-600 credits for not even top place) should be. Hero crates are SO fast to buy now.

I am pretty sure people want the old system where how much credits you get is 100% based off of your score in the game, this current system seems specifically geared towards AFK farmers, and giving slight bonuses for score isn't really helping that, with the majority of the credits you're getting still coming from just however long the match was.

That is exactly the mindset they are hoping to see in the customers. Even if they fix the numbers to decrease the amount of time it takes to grind for all the star cards, this is still an unacceptable pay2win model to have in your $60 full price game.

You should ask yourself why they decided to use this lootbox/starcard system in the first place. Why distribute rewards and upgrades randomly with loot boxes that you can buy with real world money? Why not have a traditional classic progression system?

Answer is because EA likes money and they ultimately don't care about using unethical practices as long as it generates revenue for them.

I think they're just doing the same thing they did before. Make it bad to begin with, then change it to what it was going to be anyway, then people praise them

Patrolling the skies in an ARC-170* on Kashyyk is possibly my favorite thing to do in Galactic Assault. I’d rather that than play as a hero most of the time.

They already said it'd be three new missions so yeah.

Makes little difference. If anything it encourages it further. Their statement mentions that the top player of each team gets a bonus. Reads like everyone else still gets a mostly fixed, albeit buffed payout.

Fix the AI farming too. They don't deserve the top spot.

Mate you can literally macro random inputs at random times, or chain patterns play-like actions. Just increase performance credits and decrease time credits, done.

How does this affect AFK farming?

Can confirm. Just played two games on Theed. Placed middle of the scoreboard both times. Played all three phases both times. 385 first game, 435 second game. No change unless you're top 3.

EA needs to use the exact same credit system present in EAfront 1.

This is pretty comparable with Black Ops 3 rate of earning the crate currency. Again, granted theirs doesn't include in-game power-ups, but I'm way more comfortable with this speed.

For consoles just forcing them to hit X should solve it. PC is another story since those macros are way more intense then rubberbanding your joysticks.

Ive played a few hours. Nothing crazy. I have unlocked all heroes and can equip 3 star cards on all non reinforcement infantry and non hero ships. I get first or second in starfighter assault nearly every match, using either the interceptor or a non carded fighter class. Never fought someone I cant beat because of thier cards.

Havent spent a dollar more than game price.

I am happy with more payout.
