Close Up of A Crocodile's Eye πŸ”₯

Mordor eye

Yesterday on acid, I went to my local Zoo's zoo light special. Essentially, it's open at night and you get to walk around and see some animals.

I found myself engaging into staring contests with any animal I could. Most would be scared away, some stood their ground.

But, the best animal was this Cuban crocodile that I stared into for five full minutes. It was like gazing into the very face of malice. So beautiful.

But suddenly the Mirror went altogether dark, as dark as if a hole had opened in the world of sight, and Frodo looked into emptiness. In the black abyss there appeared a single Eye that slowly grew, until it filled nearly all the Mirror. So terrible was it that Frodo stood rooted, unable to cry out or to withdraw his gaze. The Eye was rimmed with fire, but was itself glazed, yellow as a cat’s, watchful and intent, and the black slit of its pupil opened on a pit, a window into nothing.

That sounds so awesome. I always feel more connected to animals when I trip. It's amazin

Nature is fucking (s)lit

Mordor eye

Eye of Sauron

I got to tattoo a realistic gator eye last week. So much fuckin fun. You never realize how much detail is in the eye until its blown up. This is a great reference pic. There are some out there with amazing coloring and designs in them. Just awesome!

I was right in the middle of a fucking reptile zoo! And somebody was giving booze to these god damn things!

I always feel like animals know I'm tripping and they're mad about it.

Gee, I don't know, Cyril. Maybe deep down I'm afraid of any apex predator that lived through the K-T extinction. Physically unchanged for a hundred million years, because it's the perfect killing machine. A half ton of cold-blooded fury, the bite force of 20,000 Newtons, and stomach acid so strong it can dissolve bones and hoofs.

Crocodiles are the perfect killers. They're fucking mini dinosaurs.

I happened to see an ad for The Hobbit on HBO, and it showed a close up of Smaug's eye. Being Hollywood, it was really intricate and well designed ( image ) and it made me wonder how well fiction imitated nature, so I googled around for a bit before finding the picture in the OP. I'd have to say nature's design is still more hypnotic and beautiful.

"gazing into the face of malice." I love that description.

I like it but I also hate the way the slit itself has no gradient or colour it's like they used bucket tool with black paint

It's the amazon*

Same here. Especially cats.

Fun fact crocodilians have two sets of eyelids. One set is opaque and thick, used to protect their eyes fully. The other set, which is under the first one, are transparent. They use these to cover their eyes under water. It's natures built in swim goggles.

Level Up! +15 pun effectiveness, -10 pun cooldown.

They used to kill dinosaurs, too.
