This would make the perfect phone wallpaper! Gorgeous shot
I got struck by lightning up there and almost died.
6.5/10 -- would not repeat
Thank you! Feel free to use it!
Hint for others, if you descend the hiking trail from the top , about a half mile back there's a cool subalpine area with a bunch of fir trees. Entire area smells of Christmas. Halfway back there, along the trail, are also some big wild blackberry bushes.
Very nice, but you forgot to tell us how early you had to get up. ;-)
zap zap owie
You're welcome! And wow that's a beautiful theme, what is it?
OP also failed to mention whether or not it was worth it.
my dick broke off and my girlfriend is dead but I finally made it to the summit to take this picture
I use Nova Launcher with Minimal UI icons. The weather/clock app is "Weather and Clock Widget" I'm due a phone upgrade at Christmas and I know I'll just end up doing the exact same again! Creature of habit 😂
And mine :)
Wow I really like yours, here's
When they were up there lightning started. They almost died from too much lightning.

Mountain high. Lightning like high. Lightning strike man. Man hurt.
I'm definitely going to check this out the next time I'm up that way.
I had to look up the elevation of Mount Washington, which is 6,289'. Mt. Mitchell is 6,684', so it's 395' taller than Mt. Washington.
I woke up at around 9:30am. Walked 15 minutes having no difficulties and saw a modest view of a single moderately tall mountain, though slightly obscured by the clouds.
Great shot! Love to see nice things from around my area on the internet for everyone else to see how beautiful some of it is
Next time you're there, you'll descend upon a horde of 50 neckbeards picking your berry patch dry.
My home in Western NC! ❤️
They used to be as high as Snoop Dogg.
This puts you a stone's throw from the Tail of the Dragon! I was there a couple years ago, totally worth the trip, both for driving the Dragon and for the scenery.
How much higher than mount Washington is this?
Mount Washington has much higher prominence (i.e. from ground level to summit). I've hiked both Mitchell and Washington and Washington took twice as long.
This is one of my favorite places! It gets buried in snow every winter (by NC standards at least) and the dude who discovered it died trying to prove that it was the highest peak east of the Mississippi River.
Yep, that's precisely why. Our trip was originally to just go to Asheville, but at the last moment we changed our plans to go to the blue ridge parkway and Mt. Mitchell so I was a bit unprepared.
Edit: It was also extremely windy on the platform at the summit. It was difficult enough to stand still, let alone hold a camera and telephoto lens steady.
Classic Blue Ridge Mountain shot right there. Lived around these hills my whole life, beautiful place.
They used to be as high as the Himalayas
Fun fact: the Appalachian Mountains used to be as high as the Rockies before they were eroded.
its one of the clocks included in this pack
edit: I did have to modify colors and scale a bit
Is that 6,644 with or without the 375-foot wheelchair ramp on the summit?
Hahah yeah. Clingmans Dome in Tennessee is something like 6,644', so it's even closer.
You're forgetting about turning up the saturation!
Wow that's beautiful, what's the clock widget?
It's about 3 hours from there but a fun drive/ride nevertheless.
I scrolled through comments thinking come on, NH has to have this beat! I am wrong
okay that makes sense. I grew up being told mt washington was the biggest mountain in eastern u.s.
this post got me thinking my life was a lie.
Well it's a parking lot and a 300ft walk so that would be very alarming.
Thanks! Yeah this area needs to get more love for sure.
