[A Levels] You don't need tuition to get straight As
You don't need to be a genius, either. You just need a lot of hard work, perseverance and a skin thick enough to repeatedly badger your school's teachers for help.
My personal story: I'm from a lower-income family, my dad is a cabby and I have 2 school-going siblings. With these circumstances it was just unfeasible to engage tuition especially given that good tutors can cost upwards of $60/hr, despite my poor results on school exams. Scored all D/E/S/U throughout J1, in J2 improved prelim results to Bs and Cs, and ended up scoring AAAA/AA at A levels (4H2 PCME) after many hours spent on dates with various teachers. If I didn't understand what they were explaining, I'd ask until I understood. My school didn't think highly of me and I didn't get any early admission opportunities for university or scholarship recommendations, but I'm now a Nanyang Scholar at NTU.
My friend asked me to share my story because he thought it would inspire someone, I don't think I have such influencing powers lol but hopefully this can show that yes, it's possible to get 90RP without tuition as long as you work hard. Not saying "definitely don't get a tutor it's a waste of money" but I wanted to give hope to those who were in my situation, if you feel hopeless because everyone's telling you to get a tutor but you can't afford it.
Have a great day, feel free to ask me anything you want to know about my A level journey, university etc. :)
Ah, not really comfortable with revealing my JC, but I'm from a 6-point JC.
Congrats and all the best!!
Which jc were you in?
Hello, congrats on getting 90 RP! May I ask, what is your mentality when you failed your tests in JC? Also, what good habits would you encourage us JC students to have during our time in JC?
Man, those Lush pots really are useful!
I love them so much!
Best time 2 hours 50 minutes
For unknown reasons lots of drivers put a Nurburgring sticker on the back of their cars. This guy made a sticker with the same style but with the M50.
I hate to admit it but I'm a wannabe. I put an M50 sticker on my car but I've never been on the M50
The guy who parks next to me in the basement here has a nurburgring sticker on a Dacia Duster. It kills me every time I see it. He's a pure hard man type as well it's so funny.
what a couple of Savages!
You're getting one hell of a guy.
We both grew up in a town of 410. (well I grew up in a town of 100 and drove to school in Riggins, Idaho, population 410)
He grew up there in a hardworking "blue collar" family. Great parents, great relatives and overall just a really genuine family. He hasn't got in any trouble whatsoever his whole life, which nowadays in the NFL I feel like that is a huge plus considering how many players come from a background where legal issues seem to be an issue.
He has always been a great athlete, and was one of the few from our area who actually went out and made the most of his potential. He was the state MVP for 8 man football and basketball 2 years in a row. During our time in highschool we won 2 basketball championships and 2 football, Junior and senior year for both.
Overall you are getting an amazing athlete who hasnt reached his ceiling yet, he's got a lot to learn obviously but if there's anyone who is up to the task, it's him.
And just as important as the athleticism, you're getting one hell of a dude. I can almost guarantee that there's no one more genuine than Leighton, I would put money down that you wont hear of any personal issues Leighton will have off the field.
I have a lot more pictures from 3 other state championships if anyone wants to see them, just some pretty cool stuff from your new LB!
Hey check my other comment, but as for work ethic, i'm not sure i've ever seen someone (in my personal life) put more towards athletics than him. It's ALWAYS been his passion.
Hell, he WALKED ON to BSU from playing 8 man football in small town Idaho, that says a lot about him already!
I love it. It’s crazy how far Connie has come and became a badass.
Her outfit looks amazing! This one should be her Crystal Gem's outfit!
Also, this makes me hope for more "Connie being badass" scene in the future.
Thank youuuuu!! I still haven't seen much after Pink Lars... I need to catch up...
I always love her/stevonnie’s training uniform cuz it’s the uniform for the indian martial artists
Did she actually die? We'll see
I view it like the Mustafa character from Austin Powers.
She survived a trash compactor and planet implosion in episode 7, I'm sure she can survive a ship crashing through her ship at hyperspeed then falling down a flaming pit in episode 8. The real question is how will she seemingly die in episode 9?
At least Boba got to hang out with Vader and actually accomplish something. Phasma just serves to be an easily identifiable leader within the ranks of the First Order that can be defeated as needed to advance the plot. Rather than being some unknown Storm Trooper with different colored armor, it's Phasma.
I'd say black hole but as soon as starwars touches those things well have science debates up the wazoo
I thought I was the only Arsenal fan at SFU!
