EU4 down to Mostly Negative with 29% positive CK2 down to Mixed with 40% positive HoI4 down to Mixed with 58% positive Victoria 2 down to Mixed with 48% positive Stellaris down to Mixed with 63% positive
Paradox's inhouse-library of games has seen a massive downward trend in positive reviews in the last few days as the DLC and price policies of the company seem to have finally eaten up all the goodwill it had produced.
The largest reason is probably the Price Increase for their games across many regions, which has seen extreme price hikes in several affected countries - for a game that has been out for over half a decade in the case of Victoria 2. This particular issue is the spark that set the whole community ablaze.
Secondly, lately Paradox has developed an issue to hold crucial gameplay features hostage behind DLCs. Most notably, at least among the games I have played to an amount I feel comfortable to state an opinion, is the ability to increase province development in EU4. Introduced in Common Sense, it was originally a useful but not rally crucial tool to strengthen your nation without going to war. However, with the subsequent release of patch 1.18 parallel to the Rights of Man DLC, increasing development became a crucial tool to increase the spread of Institutions to your provinces. Without the ability to increase development, you were kinda screwed. Likewise, in CK2 you need the Legacy of Rome DLC to raise retinues.
Thirdly, crucial gameplay features are one thing, but charging for fixes is another. Paradox was always glad to state that the new DLC model would allow them to create large free patches instead of having to roll them into expansions and then charging for those (most infamously in Vicky2 - I adore this game but good lord was Vanilla unplayable). Well, enter Hearts of Iron 4. A game which has been ... disputed among the Paradox core crowd to say the least. HoI3 players hate it - and if I'm honest as someone who hasn't played HoI3, or any other game of the series for that matter, I hate it too. And never before was the sheer bullshittery of the game be shown more clearly than in its first DLC, Together for Victory. You see, Hearts of Iron 4 has the so-called battleplan system, where you can draw up your grand plans to fell the USSR before starting Barbarossa, and then your units assigned to the battleplan would execute it. Except that the AI was so atrocious that I basically stopped using battleplans within hours, as the AI was not even able to attribute units appropiately. The Russians are pressing in the Ukraine, but the AI sees it most crucial to have Rommel and Manstein defend the Baltics against 4 malnourished Russian regiments without enough guns. To abate the problwem of battleplans all too often drifitng off in weird directions that made no sense, Paradox introduced the "Blitz" commando. Basically units assigned this command would just try to breach through lines will maximal force on not really try to spread out. Ideal for breakthroughs or encirclements, and generally for micromanagement but not quite in manually onquering the USSR up to the Urals. This is not so much a crucial but still additional feature, it is a fix to a mostly broken system. And then they locked it behind the Together for Victory DLC, which apart from the Blitz command was rather ... let's say lackluster.
And fourthly and finally, lately Paradox hasn't even been able to releas not completely broken patches. Now we deal with Stellaris. Back in Spring, Paradox announced the "Banks" patch, which was intended to be a grand QoL improvement that would fix many bugs left on the backburner ... Too bad the patch was absolutely broken at launch, so broken in fact that Paradox announced they would restructure their playtest process (for me as the cynic I am: start doing playtests). Then a few days ago they released 1.7.2 "Bradbury", a patch mainly focused on a new MP system (apparently Paradox is moving away from using MP over Steam) ... which was so broken that Paradox retracted the patch yesterday and released 1.6.2 with the gameplay fixes of 1.7.2 (although you stole my mantis shrimp portrait, Paradox) Admittedly, the Stelalris team doesn't really have the blame here because the MP part was done by another team, but it still looks extremely bad for Paradox. And apparently the new HoI patch is also kinda screwed up without the new DLC ... stuff like Hungary not having a leader and the first military leader making your Chief of Staff resign screwed up.
~~Resubmitted with removed link to another reddit thread. My bad.
And it's one of the DLC's that took away features that existed in the game and locked them behind a paywall.
I thought it was about the price. I own EU4 but if I want all the dlc, it will cost $100. No way I'm paying that much for dlc for a game I barely play anyways.
Edit: I can't spell but
Why don't the Clippers embrace their name and make Clippy, the Microsoft Office assistant, their official mascot?
He'd look a hell of a lot better than this thing:
Edit: Yes, I am aware a Clipper is a type of ship. I didn't want this to be just another /sub/nba ship-post.
"Hi there, Steve! It looks like you're trying to win an NBA Championship. Need some help?"
throws computer out the window
"It looks like you're trying to make it past the second round. Can I help?"
Just going to leave this here.
It looks like you're trying to buy a book...
Christie Aackerlund doesn’t need help with anything. So when the world’s biggest technology company offers to fly her to a remote location and investigate an alien artifact, all by herself, she’s all like “I’ll do it!”
But the artifact isn’t what it seems, and soon an overly helpful giant living paperclip is getting her all bent out of shape.
Conquered by Clippy is a 4000 word short story featuring sexual situations with digital assistants. It’s for super mature audiences only.
Oh lord I feel dirty just copy pasting that. 4,000 words...
There's something kinda wholesome about the opposing team having more faith in you than you deserved lol.
As a D.va main this put a huge smile on my face, and honestly I think this might be a good strategy moving forward.
All strategy comes from stupid mistakes.Sun Tzu's less successful cousin
This was suppose to be his father, but it was only ever implied since he sat in Ralph's seat during a parent-teacher meeting. At some point they just decided to officially make his father chief Wiggum
Case closed. Bake him away, toys.
But in Days of Future Future, Adult Ralph has a full head of blue hair.
He looks like he ended up being Micheal Jackson in Stark Raving Dad
His name was Seth Conrad Rich and his life fucking mattered. He wasn't pathetic, he wasn't just a "victim of a botched robbery". His death was a massive cover-up by the D.C. City Council and the Metropolitan Police Department. It's been almost a year and they haven't found a single shrill of evidence while the guys over at /pol/ have been doing the handywork. March with us at Lou's City Bar (the place Seth was right before he died) July 8th, 2017, to the Flagler Market (his attack location). We will walk past Podesta's house and the Washington Medstar Hospital Office, where he died, and sing the National Anthem while counting the total of CCTV Cameras along the way. The latest update is right here for you.
I hope a whole buttload of people turn out. It'll be nice to make podesta shit his pants.
You have my support fellow pede. If refugees can protest about their building fire (UK) and not a suicide bomber, we can protest about an unsolved murder.

Return flight cancelled - airline only offering $200 refund on a $850 ticket
Hey everyone, I booked a round trip ticket and used the first half of it to get to my destination. My return flight has been cancelled and the airline said they'd refund me $200. I think this is unfair (I'd expect half, at least) and I'm wondering if I could do a charge-back with my bank. However, I paid with a debit card, and this is my first time doing something like this.
Any help would be appreciated.
A round trip ticket doesn't mean each segment was of equal value. Have you checked to see how much the initial flight was?
I work in the fares department of an airline and this is the correct answer. If the airline cancelled the flight then they must refund the unflown portion of your ticket. However, like u/louderstill mentioned each segment can have different value.
Good luck - most people here are going to be telling you US based laws/rules. You'll want to read Qatar Airways' cancellation policy and see what it says.
Your county's court. Every state is a bit different, but I just had to get a 2 page form each time I did mine in my states (NJ and WA). It cost like $50~ each time and both times I ended up either settling with the company for more than I was requesting including the $50 or the judge ruled in my favor. If the company you sue is out of state, you just have to file a form saying that you checked and they don't have an address in your state (you can probably also use the American Airlines address at your airport, if they have a registered business address there). Since American Airlines surely sells tickets to people in your state, then they are probably eligible to be sued in any US state. Worse case for you is it gets to claims court and you will need to go to your county court in trial day, and American Airlines will have to send a lawyer to your area to defend a court case for your ticket cost. It will cost American Airlines more to have a lawyer start their car than it would to defend a small claims case and they will likely call to settle with you.
At this point? Anyone who disagrees with the left hive mind.

Ummm, excuse me... but you forgot transphobe!? What are you, a Nazi?
It's only weird if you make it weird. I'm totally down...

For any of you wondering why my hair fell out I was suffering from a rare condition called DRESS Syndrome. The hair loss is a symptom of a symptom of DRESS. You can read about DRESS here. The hair loss (and skin loss) was caused by Erythroderma. I had all of the symptoms listed on that website besides neurological involvement and organ failure. One symptom that I got that wasn't listed was severe nerve pain. We don't know where the nerve pain came from; I just assume my nerves were damaged.
Sorry if this seems like a sob story or whatever but I'm desperate in trying to raise awareness of this syndrome because nobody knows what the heck it is and it's very frustrating to me because most doctors don't even know what it is.
Edit: I want to emphasize that this syndrome is very rare. I don't want to deter people from taking the medications that they need.
That may feel awkard but its really good looking. I hope you get back where you want to be but this is a look you should consider revisiting.
I've considered keeping it this length actually! When I had longer hair I always wanted to see what it looked like shorter but never cut it out of fear of it looking bad. Well, I had no choice for this but at least I now know what it looks like shorter! Unfortunately it's still very thin in some areas but there isn't much I can do about it. Oh well. I'm just glad I didn't die a long painful death due to possible organ failure.
I feel you on the rare condition thing. I have Syringomyelia, which most of my originally doctors can't spell, let alone describe. Spinal cord has fluid filled cysts. And I'm the same way, obviously by posting this comment - it's good to get the word out and help talk about these things as much as you can! Glad to see you're doing better and your hair looks amazing. I would do unspeakable things for that kind of volume. Half of my hair fell out from stress reactions in the first year and it never really came back, but I'm just going to get nice extensions and hope for the best lol
